  1. I shattered a screen with a closed flip case, it won't protect the left side of the phone at all. Personally I really enjoy the 3d printed case from @LIMA but I'm looking closely for the one from @ubuntuscofieldand @belletrist Those 3d printed case can protect the phone way better than a flip case

  2. Of course, an unlucky hit can get through the unprotected side of a flap case. My main point is that the case (any case for what matters) reduces the chance the Pro1 will slip out of your hand in the first place. As a bonus, a flap case also removes the need for a screen protector sticker. As much as I enjoy enthusiast projects, the 3D-printed cases I have seen so far (from pictures only, of course) look a bit awkward. They are certainly perfectly functional, but aesthetically not very appealing (to me at least). No hard feelings, but for now I will stick with my flap case ...

  3. Regardless of whether you use a case or not (I hate cases and don't use any on my Pro1), I highly recommend having skin on the back of your Pro1 to provide more grip (which ultimately protects the Pro1 by eliminating the slickness of the back)

  4. Agree. I do not have a screen protector, but I decided for a flip case on day one. The Pro1's surface finish is nice but it enables the phone to slip out of your hand far too easily ...

  5. The most protective -yet still usable- solution is a screen protector and a flip case.

  6. BTW, I had to install opengapps "mini" to use Android Auto in my car with Lineage 17.1, it was not working with pico.

  7. Just a notice... if someone wants to remove a sticker, it helps a lot to heat it up a bit. For example, I mean using a heat gun at lowest temperature (around 100 degree Celsius) and keeping some distance, so it may not melt the base material but makes much easier to remove the sticker.

  8. That's my phone that I'm selling - first time poster on the forums here - I've also put it for sale on tweakers.net (https://tweakers.net/aanbod/2658316/fxtec-pro1.html) - I have no real problem selling it outside the country (insured shipping etc.) If there are any questions just lemme know 🙂 In short; - It's undamaged (no bumps or remarkable scratches) - Comes with cable, charging block (and EU plugs x3) - Only notable thing is that there is a magnetic round sticker on the back that I left on as I wasn't sure if that was gonna look ugly as hell if I tried to peel it off. 9. That means your bootloader is unlocked (or you are rooted). Safteynet won't offer it to you. I simply obtained an apk from a reliable source. It works fine. APK mirror has it.

  10. I just recently installed AICP on my Pro1 and, in another thread, I was asked how I went about getting root and Safetynet working, including Google Pay working. It was pretty straight-forward really, but I had to dig around a bit to figure it out. Here are the exact steps, as best I recollect them. This may not be the best or only way, but it worked for me. And thanks to a number of developers/contributors and forum posts which I consulted while figuring out this process. - Wipe phone, fastboot flash Lineage recovery, then adb sideload AICP and NikGapps ZIPs. Checked phone boots into Andr

  13. A 3D printed case is the way to go IMHO with the Pro1. It retains that nice feel of it but with extra grip. The design still needs a bit of polish but it's getting close. Unfortunately I'm still learning that side of things and haven't had any success yet. If anybody is interested in a used Snakehive case, still in good condition, only modified the phone holder to suit the Pro1, let me know. I wont be returning to it.

  14. Thanks @all for the tips regarding protection. I've already ordered screen protectors. I already do have two flip cases which basically fit, but I'm hesitant to use one because of the need to customize the holes and also they significantly add bulk, much more than the flipcase I used to have for the Moto Z3 Play which fit like a (surgeon's) glove... But I guess I'll give one of them a try, after all. (I've also been playing with the thought of buying a 3D printer just to print my own Pro1 protectors 😉 )

  15. It's hard to tell. I was dealing with this in November and December, which was when they were full-speed on the IGG campaign. Sometimes I got an answer in 48 hours, sometimes two weeks. Their answers were always useful and good, so I just became rather zen about when the answers came. I felt strongly I would be taken care of if I was patient. And I was right. The actual warranty screen replacement was excellent. They did have me go through several stages. They had me video the problem, then they had me open up the screen assembly and check that the cable was properly seated.

  16. For anyone who might be interested in a Pro1 but finding @Devion's offer too cheap, there's one of three Pro1s left someone from Japan is selling on ebay for $1,450 / EUR 1,232 ... 😉

  17. OK I think I managed to reproduce it. - (Optional) open slide and set phone on table (had to do this, only got 2 hands to hold camera and trigger problem, lol) - Open Calculator - Slide finger alongside the bottom of the screen (right edge when phone is open), outside of the actual touch area - Watch the Calculator go crazy It's actually along the whole edge, not just the corner. When in portrait mode, it randomly triggers the "7 8 9 Divide Backspace" row.

  18. Not mine, and not affiliated in any way. Just thought I'd share. It's over a year old, but like brand new without a scratch: F(x)tec Pro 1 € 450,00 https://link.marktplaats.nl/m1683892107?utm_source=android_social&utm_content=vip&utm_medium=android_social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons And I hope to sell you all my own when I receive it after like 7 months 😑.

  19. If I understand it correctly, this happens because some firmware or parameters of the touchscreen has to be updated for the margins to be correct. There's a thread about it somewhere on the forum... It can be fixed by either: - reflashing stock firmware (which does the magic on first boot) - some illusive app which only works as root (you'd have to ask fxtec or someone else who has it to get that)

  21. That my friend looks like pressure damage. You can try, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up of getting a replacement screen under warranty. Too much pressure damages the crystals. Eventually the blue spot will turn black. My suggestion would be to not complain about the screen. I don't believe FxTec will take the time to investigate a microphone and just replace the complete upper half, including the screen. Just my 2 cents.

  23. 44161f40-fe7d-43a9-a3f7-4ec4347bf242.jfif Do they still repair broken phones? My screen is bleeding blue and the microphone is not useable when you are inside, every little bit of electromagnetic energy destroys the entire line. I need to use it with a bluetooth headset or its not use-able..
