Just received a FedEx tracking number for my phone, IGG perk #363, October 27, 2020, destination Canada.

I've just received mail from FedEx - my contribution number is <150, QWERTY keyboard, destination Europe, estimated delivery:

I have also received an email from FedEx around 45 minutes ago. Order in first 30, QWERTY to Europe. It is scheduled to arrive next Thursday.

Well the difference in delivery between first and last within batch one was likely expected to be in days, so hardly worth the trouble, to split it further. As so many times before this project was hit by unexpected delays, this time of the shipping out being slow..... The main point is that all the old orders should be handled in the first batch, so handled before the majority of the IGG perks. I doubt that FxTec has any influence on how Expansys/Fedex handle stuff in their queues, including the order. Most likely they handle stuff from various sources to the same country/region collectively,

We just on IGG have had one reporting shipping info on a qwertZ and one to Austria, so my theory was wrong.

Yeah, Sean wrote something back in April: But neither github nor gerrit show any public pro1x projects or reviews. Nor is there any firmware at TheMuppets. That's why I'm asking. Maybe @Sean McCrearycan point me in the right direction?

For what it's worth, I run the stock OS that shipped with the Pro1 and haven't had any issues aside from needing to reboot the phone every so often (I think to refresh my phone on my carrier's network or vice versa) to receive texts and calls. I don't have anything sensitive on my phone that could be compromised but I use it mainly with zero trust principles. I accomplish this in part by using a different email for my phone than my actual email, disabling BT, location, and WiFi, except when I am explicitly using one or more. Even then, I only connect to trusted devices (BT; not to exceed X

Yes, it seems to be somewhat random. As far as I saw in one of their previous updates, there was a big box... inside big box, there were smaller boxes ("middle" box), and inside smaller boxes, there were individual Pro1-X boxes... So I think it depends on the order the middle boxes were opened which may happened from top to bottom but may not evenly at every rows... but that is only a guess. 🙂

I ordered March 2020, support has confirmed mine is in batch 2. Last name starts with R so the alphabetical by last name theory is possible.

We do not know how big a part of batch 1 FedEx actually have processed yet. So we could still be in Batch 1 without knowing.. In the 'voting' less than a score has 'voted', and similar numbers posted on IGG (of whom some can be the same) so likely only a fraction of batch 1 have got the mail yet.

To be this slow I would guess they are filling the last little gaps in a container full of other stuff with phones. Two working weeks and still less than 100 reported sent is pathetic but Fxtec have obviously done their bit as it is happening. As someone who ordered a couple of days from the original IGG end date I should be near the end of batch 2, which at this rate might arrive in time for Christmas. At least Ubuntu will be ready by then!

Tax and VAT? I'm in the UK and based on $300+40 a calculator just said I should expect 0% Duty and 20% VAT plus handling fee which is consistent with things I've imported from non-EU countries in the past - I only checked as I've not imported anything for many years. I'm used to talking to Americans and being jealous that they pay nothing, feels weird being on the good end for a change!

Mine is a QWERTY unit coming to Hungary (e-mail has arrived today around 10am but not count me twice as I have already wrote in the forum 🙂).

Got my shipping information this morning (email from FedEx, nothing from F(x)tec). Ordered July 2021 on the website (which still says "processing"), QWERTY, 8/256, headed to Finland, due for delivery on Tuesday. Order in the 59000 range. Edit: Now received email from F(x)tec indicating my order is "complete".

I ordered Pro¹X: 256Gb/8G black, qwerty, via web site at the 17 April 2021 with order number 58xxx . Just ask support and they inform me that I'm in Batch 2 and to wait for tracking code mail after 2-3 weeks from now. My current phone is Nokia 8 Sirocco, 4 years old. Last year change battery hoping to receive Pro¹X soon. Thanks to God that my old Nokia 8 Sirocco still work good ...

Regarding the bugs, I'm in the process of joining ubports as a contributor to scratch my own itches and share the fixes.

Index of /uploads/pro1x/ubuntu-touch (robinkirkman.com) There are some bugs, such as shutdown through the gui not actually shutting it down. ("sudo shutdown -h -P now" works in a terminal) Also the keymap is not right; it seems to assume the mappings on a standard US-English keyboard; the labels on the Pro1X disagree with the characters typed in some cases; it seems that the Pro1X function key doesn't do anything, so it's not possible to type a blackslash (Fn+P). Everything works over ssh.

I doubt that. We do have keyboard cases for tablets for a reason. No matter how big the screen is, a keyboard is in another league!

The problem with this, is that it is just for typing text not controlling your phone like you do with a keyboard, think ctrl + tab and other shortcuts. I wonder if you could develop such a mode where the virtual keyboard is sticky. There is that and the fact that the front screen is way too narrow on the Fold.

Hello, The FedEx tracking number that was sent to me has an incorrect shipping address. It's very close but is not my address and, unless intervened, will be sent to a complete stranger. I would hate to not receive this after a few years because of a what appears to be a typo. I am posting here as well since the package is slated to be delivered by 20220809 and I am not able to divert it using my FedEx account.
