@64_Tesseract Pro1 and Pro1-X are not compatible, LineageOS should has a separate branch for these phones. However, official support should arrive also for Pro1-X after it becomes available, it is a work in progress as far as I know. Also, Pro1 can not be bought anymore because its heart (the SoC) became unavailable for F(x)tec.

Proยน X โ state of production and delivery
VaZso replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Right. At first, I would say if they offer shipping of new orders in April (I mean end of April) then that would mean they have finished sending out all of their preorders till that time. ...but yes, they are tend to be over-optimistic... -
Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues
VaZso replied to michal@hanu.la's topic in Support
Basically it is not an official problem description, just my own findings... I don't know how it affects warranty (they have provided replacement screens within warranty period, so it was covered). Also, we don't know the amount of Pro1s which had defective screens compared to the number of units sold and also we don't know any impacts on the screen/phone were caused by user during everyday usage which may also be a cause of this problem. -
Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues
VaZso replied to michal@hanu.la's topic in Support
I think this issue is not as simple... I have high certainty the cause is the bottom ribbon cable comes from display to display's electronics may break in some circumstances... it can be a bad gluing problem which allows the screen moving or dropping the phone which causing the same problem or maybe releasing the glue by a solvent which practically may be also alcohol used for disinfecting the phone... ...but the root cause of the problem is that ribbon cable can break or loose its contact at display side which is a final result of movement in relation to the above. Problems may happen but you may contact their customer support regarding a specific problem. However, it is easier if you live in another country than the package was delivered in but also a different city may help to prove your truth. Once a seller has provided a tracking number for me what belonged to another person locally in the same country and also same city, around 3 kilometres away from me... that was a bit harder to prove that was not me... Anyway, I have also ran into a mistake of "Aliexpress Combined Shipping" which basically puts together several "Aliexpress Standard Shipp -
I have attached the actual state of this virtual filesystem saved from my Pro1 running LineageOS 18.1 However, I don't know why there are a plenty of capture / playback devices there and I haven't checked ever how asound works but on my notebook, I only have one capture and one playback interfaces. That (msm8998-skuk-tavil-snd-card) is a proprietary part of the kernel anyway. asound.tar.xz

Unfortunately, that is true and the more complex a product is, the more it is affected by this problem. Also including regulatory certifications only apply for unmodified electronics, it is not allowed to continuously changing components depending on their availability and these certifications are expensive processes...

Basically I am also in the same boat. ๐ However, also doing some embedded (Linux) work and also some higher-lever thing in connection with Linux. It is an interesting question... Pro1's reception is not the best but also not the worst. As they had to redesign antenna system for Pro1-X, it may happen they could fine-tune them better than on Pro1 anyway. So one part is the service provider's network and another one is slightly worse reception on the phone. Anyway, I have not noticed differences in reception compared to my Motorola G6 phone, so that is not that bad but it may hap
-
Anyway, a very heavily populated suburb is a very good reason for horrible reception. Every service providers have limited available frequency usage limits (frequencies are shared through all service providers and they have to periodically apply for a tender to be allowed to use them or gather new frequencies). So the basic problem is the limited availability of frequency bands usable by a service provider. Mainly service provider may "re-use" a specific frequency at other but not nearby places and one solution to serve more people using available frequency range is to reducing tra

Since I have installed LineageOS on my Pro1, I am much happier. ๐ So by installing current LineageOS (18.1), you will have an Android 11 device with much more optimized speed. If you also need SafetyNet working, you need to use Magisk but that way also NFC payment is working for me which was unsupported on stock firmware.

Proยน X โ state of production and delivery
VaZso replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
They have not mentioned it at all... they used to try ramping up production of Pro1 and they thought it is possibly to speed up production to a much higher level, but I do not know what happened and if they moved to another factory for Pro1-X production or if anything related happened. Also, I don't know what kind of repair you need, but at worst case, they may also need Pro1-X to provide replacements for customers or simply to obtain spare parts together with Pro1-X production... -
Right, but they may refuse it referring to an unknown behaviour or potentionally malfunctioning device which may affects the usability of their network and may lead higher load for their customer support (also because of problems potentially caused by device and also because of unsupported bands [checking and explaining it for customer] and also because having more devices, being harder to provide specific support for all of them). The above may be a theoretical explanation of why they don't accept phones from other sources. ...but the truth it is very convenient for them having to supp

Right, I think the same. However, if Pro1-X enters the market and additional manufacturing is also possible (unlike running into a similar problem what Pro1 had), then it may be a higher chance they will start working with US providers or at least there may be much more users who may also push these service providers. However, living in Europe, it sounds very weird how much control these service providers have above their customers head and they can do it because everyone do the same there. I hope it may changes together with spreading modern networks but there should be a service pr

Can't believe it's finally happened. (Cracked Screen)
VaZso replied to MickH's topic in General Discussion
It may varies on the country you reside in but for me, standard packages sent through local postal service are slow and less trustworthy (also they collect an additional fee of TAX/VAT "handling" even if it was pre-payed). However, "Aliexpress Standard Shipping" comes in a very different way where one of the independent couriers will deliver the package and they are also faster. Moreover, they deliver them without additional fees. So, these are mostly local specialties but basically Aliexpress tries to provide a good service. Also, I have ordered some spare screens from Aliexpress -

Can't believe it's finally happened. (Cracked Screen)
VaZso replied to MickH's topic in General Discussion
...that does not sound good because there is a ribbon cable at the bottom of display and if it is physically able to move (as part of imperfect gluing of a corner) that will break again relatively soon. If it breaks, you will notice similar problem depending on the part where ribbon breaks - it will lead to either touch-related problem or screen-related problem. Especially the bottom part of the display should be fixed well to eliminate similar problems what some of us experienced with touch screen issue... that is the most sensitive part of the whole display because here comes a wid -
It is glued to the bottom part of the phone and it can be removed by aplying heat on it (using a heat gun at relatively low temperature). However, I don't think 3D-printed keypad will work well...

I have the same problem since a while. If it shows "slow charging", I have to move or turn around the Type-C connector until I see "Charging" and see if it remains "Charging" instead of switching back to "slow charging" which practically means it may even discharge overnight or at least it will not gain usable charge. This is because my Type-C connector has started to worn, more at one side and less at its other side, so I see conductors in the connector are in bad condition. I have contacted F(x)tec about this problem and they have promised me to "book" a replacement USB board

Right, UbTouch (or general Linux) support is a bit different question. However, similar support like with Pro1 using libhybris is not the best thing of Linux support while it is not easy to create full Linux support without the help of Qualcomm (so the SoC's manufacturer). ๐ Even a proper SailfishOS support is a question - I haven't seen SailfishOS working (lack of compatible hardware) and I may be wrong when I assume it may bring me closer of the feeling what I had with my Nokia N900 and even the world has changed a lot since then. Also, I am a Desktop (and server) Linux user so I
-
Yes, it may... but if only a software would be a cause of an additional delay, there would be people who don't really care the OS and to finalize manufacturing on their own. Anyway, there should be an initial software which should be used for a factory test to check if hardware is fully functioning.
-
However, personally I would be completely okay with that... moving to another OS on Pro1 is not hard at all, I hope it will be similar on Pro1X. So if it would make Pro1X shipment faster (an otherwise perfect device), I would even say ship it with any OS for me. ๐ Maybe it worth a question for the actual user, but I would be also hapy without an OS with an option to install it later... ๐

Here you can read all of their updates.

This is because Pro1's SoC (SDM835) became unavailable for F(x)tec. They had promise of SDM835 for Pro1-X manufacturing but it was sold to someone else and Pro1-X had to be redesigned which caused an additional but huge delay as they had to redesign the phone, re-test everything and build up software environment for its new SoC...

I have purchased some Type-C connectors which I may try to replace if something goes terribly wrong with my panel if it will not be too late (potentially torn off connector) and if one of them meets the one used on this panel.. and if it does not have other components too close... I don't know if I will receive te promised USB board in the near future and I can only charge my Pro1 if I try to force cable in a direction and pray to remain there to complete the charging process till the morning... it does not always happen to charge over night because of that... So yes, it would be goo
