Right, it is much better than having to use a heat gun to remove the whole display together with the risk of breaking it. So Pro1 can be disassembled in a proper way as opposite to other phones just glued together... however, I would not call it an easy replacement but definitively it is a proper assembling.

Interesting. It's IMEI may tell the country if it may come from a farther place. 🙂 Here, in Hungary, initially all of the phones sold by service providers were cheaper than in a regular shop but locked (old Nokia, Sagem, Ericsson, etc. dumb phones). It took a while but later they had similar prices but locked (so not worth buying them) and finally they seems to forgot this thing. The only locked phone I had was a Nokia 3310 anyway and they have also "recently" (few years ago) started to reveal unlocking codes for phones which did not have contract anymore, but it may was an EU regula

I have heard a service provider may have its custom ROM and usually they release an update even later than the manufacturer or may even not release it. I think my G6 has stock firmware and not related to Telekom but it may happen the reason is somewhere around manufacturer or a custom (service provider) firmware. It was strange for me to see some of the phones available at Telekom were not even locked to them (as it used to be), however, it would has been really strange for a 2 SIM-capable phone - but maybe that is also the reason I could not find any Telekom-related parts in its fir

Yesterday I have checked it before I wrote here using the same software (FiLMiC Pro) and it has the very same problem. You may not notice it when you simply try to record your speech, but yesterday I have turned on a pocket radio (which has decent sound quality) and it has produced the very same ugly sound filtering. So, unfortunately it does not help. I have also tried to record the same radio station (music) using a sound recorder which I thought it can record well and it had the very same problem. I hate Android translates also application names (not speaking about the hidden

Interesting... I have ordered my Moto G6 in late July of 2018 but it has received Android 9 update later, also Europe here. 🙂 However, it was sold by local T-Mobile as an unlocked phone. I don't remember any custom T-Mobile signs of the firmware anyway. There was also one or maybe two security updates since I use my Pro1 on that phone but it will definitively not be upgraded further...

I have disassembled my Pro1 once to open its base but it is a bit harder than removing some screws. The easiest part is to open up the display then remove it. Reapplying the hinge is a bit tricky but not necessary to remove it for opening the bottom part. However, the bottom part isn't glued together but additionally of its screws, also there are some plastic nails. The case seems to be sturdy also without screws and to not insure its material, some attention and proper (slim but not too hard) tools are needed.

Also a similar 'day 1' bug which also exists under stock ad LineageOS is the wrong speaker is selected in hands free mode, so the speaker close to the microphone (only a few centimetres away) produces sound which makes the whole thing (hands free mode) even worse.

Sound recording quality is a shame. It was the same for me under stock and also under LineageOS. I thought I have found a sound recorder application which is much better and it is for speech recording but now I have turned on a radio and it has also produced the very same, crappy sound as in your message. Edit: It sounds like an aggressive noise filter which should not be applied on standard recordings.

Anyway, I had the same feeling after switching to Pro1 from Moto G6, however, I wasn't satisfied with G6's GNSS generally. If Titan is even better then it should be definitively good in this area.

I have an option in recovery to reboot to recovery anyway.
-
Right, that may cause problems even if it does not reveal in a usual workflow. Anyway, does memtest86 run on the machine for a longer period (like a day) without issues? Otherwise, if you will experience problems again, you may also try to run it using another kernel, in very rare cases it may also cause problems on a specific hardware. Anyway, how long does it take for you to compile? ...and I am curious to see if it was different on these OSes.
-
Interesting. I have compiled it on a chrooted Ubuntu environment earlier and now I have checked relevant packages were not upgraded since then. I have not tried yet to compile the very latest version of Pro1-related codes anyway. Maybe - are you sure you have enough free space on the partition where this compile runs?
-
I think they have tried to reuse all components in Pro1-X so it should work. However, only F(x)tec may know it for sure. I don't think yet.
-
Hmm, it can be a vaild reason,, thanks. 🙂
-
Hmm, and when MindTheGapps is sideloaded before reboot to recovery that means somehow it goes also to the other slot or it may go elsewhere? ...or why it seems to be surviving then? Sorry for misunderstanding just still something is not seems to be clear for me. 🙂

How to customize the keyboard layout on LineageOS 18.1?
VaZso replied to ivoanjo's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Yes, it may definitively happen. -
I am also a bit comfused as I think the same but it worked for me and without sideloading magisk it was also unreachable - but also in that case rebooting to recovery and sideloading Magisk made it available again. Anyway, I just checked there are mkfs.exfat and mkfs.ext4 available... what do you think, if I format my SDCard to ext4, will it handle it as SDCard? ...just because I may like to install a Linux environment later and ext4 would be much better than FAT32 which it currently has. Anyway, a support for f2fs would be very good to have.... Edit: Interesting that it has f

Can't believe it's finally happened. (Cracked Screen)

When I have replaced my screen, I had no touchscreen border problem. I don't know which firmware my display had, but I was using stock OS. -

I was always searching parts for "Elephone U Pro" (including screen protectors) and based on photos, I would also say that is the display what Pro1 uses. However, as far as I know well, there may be a frimware update needed which stock OS will automatically do but it would need a software under LineageOS. Without that, there are some problems with touch margin. -
How to customize the keyboard layout on LineageOS 18.1?
VaZso replied to ivoanjo's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
In kernel messages, it is clearly seen when a keydown or keyup interrupt happens. However, it does an automatic key repeat what also PCs have/had (Typematic Rate / Delay) which also happens to modifiers. I was speaking about this kind of behaviour (stock LineageOS). Anyway, it would be good to have a custom layout editor in configuration UI of the system even if it only has an input field what it can save - so it would not need any kind of root access. -
I've had problems loading my custom build but what currently seems to work for me without factory reset is: - Sideloading ROM - Sideloading GApps - Reboot to recovery - Sideloading Magisk - Start system I have not replaced recovery but it clearly does not start when I load ROM, GApps and Magisk in one turn and even if I try ROM, reboot, then loading the rest but in that case, I have tried loading Magisk then GApps which may be a wrong order.

I have bought it and it has a perfect fit (original is silver and this is black in the following photos). ...and in place: So if someone would like to buy replacement screws, I recommend buying from the link above and the correct details are "M1.4 + 2mm" and 100PCS are to be sold currently at $3.38

How to customize the keyboard layout on LineageOS 18.1?
VaZso replied to ivoanjo's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I think @EskeRahn told we have an "fn layer" associated to a key (in fn array) which has a modifier but not for another key. So "another key" would send the generally specified modifier together with a key instead of remaining silent while "a key" would only send the key/combination specified in fn array. -
How to customize the keyboard layout on LineageOS 18.1?
VaZso replied to ivoanjo's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Maybe it could release the key if there is a generated another key which uses a different modifier and then send the generated key. I don't know if that (two keycodes sent in a row) has a higher or lower potential side effect than sending the keycode, sending another keycode then releasing, then releasing the first keycode (even if these keycodes are the same). ...but as it is an optional feature in that code, both the fn layer can be disabled and the fn key can be set to default behaviour. I would prefer turning off the fn layer and turning on the FN key as a real key representati -
How to customize the keyboard layout on LineageOS 18.1?
VaZso replied to ivoanjo's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
It seems it does not re-enable them but I have remembered they were disabled completely when the file exists. The modification what I did may send a keycode on pressing a modifier while it will also generate the keycode assembled in fn-level of the keymap (if enabled). So it behaves similarly except it will also generate the keycode on pressing/releasing the "fn"/Yellow Arrow key. Eliminating this behaviour is possible but it needs deeper modification so it is more complicated.
