So it looks like FxTec is still hard at work designing the X and when I asked them to review their AZERTY design a couple of months ago they said they can't do that because they are already working on their next phone... I call bullshit 🤣 Basically they are so all over their heads just getting the basic phone features working that they don't have the resources to actually work on proper keyboard layouts. They also brilliantly fail at using their community to do it for them. You can tell I'm still quite frustrated that they use my original AZERTY proposal without getting in touch firs

You should really decommission that phone. Open it up, remove the battery, assess the damages and ask fxtec support for spare parts. Use another phone until you can get this fixed one way or another. Order a Pro1X if not already done. Then wait 2 years for it to be delivered 😭

My stock Android 9 was working fine but I missed things like proper dark mode and full screen gesture navigation. LOS is far from bug free though. For instance I recently noticed one of my SIM cards won't receive calls when 4G is enabled. That is a major showstopper if you ask me. I have not bothered reporting that issue outside of those forum yet.

There are some BLOBs for proprietary device drivers which are closed source but others such as the keyboard driver have actually been opened source.

I moved to Lineage OS 18.1 last summer and it's awesome but it takes skills and time to get it done the way you want. Though I would prefer an updated stock running the latest Android mostly because that means less work to maintain it.

Sounds like our issue. Unfortunately none of my SIMs are showing the VoLTE option or that Advanced Calling option which is like exactly the same it seems. Though If I do a Settings search for LTE those options are showing in the search result and links you to the SIM settings page.

Same here. That is a nasty bug we ought to report that and see if any of the dev can help.

I'm using two SIMS, one from 1&1 Germany and one from Orange France. The 1&1 SIM also has a sister SIM in another smartphone. My Pro1 does not register any call on the German number. Though I'm sure this was working at some point. The French one works fine. SMS and data on the German SIM are working too. Moreover on every restart it says new SIM installed. Also I do know that it works sometimes as the other day a call went through. After switching preferred network type to GSM only it works. If I switch preferred network type LTE it's not working. I was on stock and hopeful for the longest time but gave up on it as the chipset "upgrade" of the X clearly meant the original would not get any official support. Moved to Lineage 3 months ago and never looked back. Yes it takes time and effort to set it up but it is well worth it.

For some reason I never had much of an issue with double keystroke. Good to know though.

Are you guys still on stock? Try switch to Lineage OS. I've have had micro lags issues on stock but not on LOS.

Just published an improved version of that. You can now fully customize your own vibration pattern.

Just published release v1.1.4 which adds an option to vibrate when the case is closed.

Actually I really enjoy that kind of manual activity, it is such pleasant change from software engineering.

Custom flip bookcase based on Huawei P20 Pro, I recently switched from a thicker one to this low profile one. The former I used for over 18 months. I'm also not excluding going back to it depending on how well that later one is working out.

On Lineage OS 18.1 I keep getting in situations where the fingerprint sensor won't work until I unlock to phone with PIN. That was somewhat of an issue before but since I changed my case it's annoying to the point where the fingerprint sensor is almost useless. I'm assuming most those issues are related to the fact that the fingerprint sensor gets temporary locked after 5 failed attempts and permanently locked after 20 failed attempts. Though on stock it would show a message on the lock screen telling you your fingerprint sensor is disabled, on LOS I don't get such message. My new case en

FxTec replied they can't change anything now so I have to live with the guilt of not being persuasive enough to have them use New AZERTY layout and being the one that proposed that limited classic AZERTY layout in the first place. On one hand it is nice that they take on community contributions like this. On the other hand instead of passively just taking stuff it would have been nice if they had come here and say: "Hey Slion, we are about to print your classic AZERTY design hope that's ok with you" that would have given me the opportunity to work directly with them on the New AZERTY layo

Well, that's not an issue with my latest case as the strap is on the front panel. I'm actually starting to like that strap. I'm somewhat a lefty and it turns out I mostly grab my phone with the left hand and with that design I can actually grab the phone, unlock the strap with the thumb and open the case one handed. I reckon I could also swipe the fingerprint reader in the same move, just need to register that part of my thumb. One drawback of the missing strap on the back panel is that I can't lock my phone safely in the car mount anymore... I guess I'll have to find another car mount.
