This is clearly the case of the xiami mi mix 4:

Honestly I understand your fear. But they would have saved them a lot of shitpost by leaving open gates. But they do not seem to be informed enough that they are able to leave gates open, or at least not the right ones. So I understand your fear and anger, well I am not amused myself. But I think you see to much in that. They actually do the opposite. They do not leave gates open, and then run through the door. I have given up listen to the communication, but still wait for the phone. The only thing I still care is getting the phone before X-mas and that people here stay a little calm.

We have been complaining for a long time now. I don't think it will help. If you think otherwise, go ahead. But I just do not think they have the possibilities to do better until the phone is shipped.
-
Stop it Karen xD of course he meant 2019! What are you trying to achieve here? They can tell you anything and don't do it afterwards anyway! I don't want to attack you or anything. But I think we all should decide for ourself now if we want to take it up with a company like FxTec or not and stop attacking people like Erik!
-
Exactly that is what I said before. Wait or don't, cancel or don't cancel but there is no need to complain here non stop.

Order instead of pre-order

Realistic guess? December. -
I for myself prefer the sleeve. I can't see how a case could work properly with this phone design (especially with the round screen). A etui or a skin would be a possibility but I am happy with a sleeve.
-
Depending on the case, some people may skip the whole package. Would surely save them some cost on shipping. But to decide that, the headphones and case have to be done and presented to us.
-
I can't, I just said I think this presentation is accumulated to display a single fact (nearly 50% are in this group) Sure, I just wanted to point out, that it may be a bad idea to take the data distribution out of a result presentation. This presentation seems to be tailored to support the "50% are in this group" fact.
-
That is what I mean, the Chart does not show the distribution for the data collection, only the distribution of the data for the presentation!
-
Well in this example I would argue that the data collection possibly had more details than the display of the result. Since in this graphic only one category is relevant it is not too bad to merge the last n groups. Still does not accurately show the results. You know what they say: Never trust a chart you didn't manipulate yourself.

A lot of people seem to think like you, but in my opinion the poll is correct. I myself are in my 20's and my first (and best) smartphone was the famous N900. Hwkb are the superior form of input. And everyone who was once used to it knows that no matter what Age. It has nothing to to with not getting the new stuff.
-
JFC uses the same webcompany as FxTec does WEBFX EMEA LIMITED. So most likely they just copied code from that project. Which is not a good sign for the company, but I would argue that FxTec has nothing to do with the tracking at all. And most we are just fucking up the numbers for JFC.

Ups that should mean "was not necessarily to improve phones"
-
Well technology evolves that is true, but often what we get an use is dictated by the profit of companies, not by technological Progression. A slab is just easier and cheaper to make. Often the best things are still hand crafted and out of wood. Technological progression is just the reason the big companies are selling us, but often it is economic progression not technological. The funny thing is, people always believe them. Keyboard has died because Touchscreens became better? Not really. Sure there was a technological progression needed, but the Goal was not necessarily to improve phones.
-
The reason is: the sample size is too small...

The phone is finally coming together. But there is a lot of critics again. That's why I thought a quick reminder to have a look at the overall picture may be a help. This whole project is a great achievement and the price feels not that high any more, since we know a worker has 4-5 hours to assemble the phone. Still I understand everyone complaining. Again there is a delay and they tried to sell it as "on track" to us. Communication is still suboptimal at best. But if you have a look at the video you should see what we all tend to forget. These guys are engineers not sales peo
-
Absolutely agree with you. That is all true. But still no reason to think they lied to us, or the phone as another delay and stuff like that. Like many people have done here. I mean this could all be the case, but we just don't know yet.
-
Well I agree with most of you. They did say they will start shipping on 29th from the fulfilment centre. Another 2-3 day delay would not be to bad, but the communication would again have been horrible. But guys come on. We do not know how the post of erik was exactly meant. Most of the time he has not the whole information anyway (poor guy). We should wait for the official update (which I assume will have to come today). Then we can start panic if it is needed. But at the moment it is useless speculations.
-
Yep, I know resources are scarce (Or I suppose it is so). But for a project like this a weekly Update would have been nice (May have a look at the Cosmo, they did great). Sure it is not a crowdfunded Project and I think people forget that sometimes. It was totally fine for the first part of the project. But since you had a delay after we paid, it would have been reasonable to do something like a weekly update. Could only be 3 Sentences.

Reverse shifted layout
Doktor Oswaldo replied to Doktor Oswaldo's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Don't worry, I don't think it is an issue at all. I would not even thought about that if they hadn't shifted the keyboard. Now I started thinking about it and I am interested on what the best layout would be. Maybe it would even be great to adjust the keys in a circular manner so they are more thumb centric. But that is all just thinking, I strongly suggest a plain old QWERTY !. Everything else may be hard to sell and hard to learn, even so it may be better in the long run. -

Something like that (Disclaimer: Poor edit): -
Finally enough phones to play agent and just step on your phone after finishing a call. A dream comes true. P.S. I think it would be easier to just give eske a container full. Logistics are less complicated that way.

Reverse shifted layout
Doktor Oswaldo replied to Doktor Oswaldo's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Thanks for the image, exactly what I mean. While I still would prefer a non shifted QWERTY, I think this would be better shift to do. But one would have to test that. It surely is highly unusual. Normally I have a strong opinion against strange layouts, because you have years to get the invested time back (looking at you dvorak) and can't use your pals equipment anymore. But since a phone does need another muscle memory anyway (thumb typing) it may be an idea to fully optimize it. Another Idea would be to make the keys smaller and leave the middle empty, like some ergonomic keyboar -
The pro1 features a shifted layout to make it easier to type. But since the keys in the middle are often hardest to type on a keyboard slider, wouldn't it be better to shift the layout to the opposite direction (have special keys in the middle) like some strange keyboard do? This is not common and I still would prefer a non shifted US-Layout. But to actually solve the problem of the hard to reach middle keys, this would be more stable than the current shift since you can grab it normally, wouldn't it? What do you think?
