  1. Putting it in a bag of dry rice or using desiccant products won't require you taking it apart. They just make the air very dry, hence removing the water that made its way inside your phone. If something didn't short circuit and create physical damage, removing the water should allow it to work again.
  2. Has anyone used any of the DIY water repellent products on any phones? Or the professional services that make a non-repellent phone more repellent?
  3. Have you tried any of these options? https://www.wired.com/2014/02/thats-deal-wet-phone/
  4. For anyone else wanting to be able to intercept OTAs, here is what I've posted before. https://www.thecustomdroid.com/how-to-capture-ota-update-url-android/ At least one person was able to use the directions to get the URL: And here are the directions on how to flash it, in theory. The problem is that users have reported that we don't have a real recovery with the Pro1 and I'm not sure if TWRP is to the state where it can do this either. https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-ota-updates-manually-using-recovery-and-adb-sideload/ And no idea what this would d
  5. I have wondered the same thing. Is the Pro1 plastic painted or dyed?
  6. I mentioned this a few times in the past. I intend to test out using sugru for this purpose. https://sugru.com/
  7. Is that a typo?? 53?!? 😂
  8. I wouldn't give those keyboard cases that much credit. I bet that car is VERY well air conditioned with that set-up!
  9. I did that for 2+ weeks with my Relay 4G, until the last flex cables known to man arrived and I replaced the one in my current phone and a backup phone. This has helped lessen my PDDS significantly. PDDS = Pro1 Delay Derangement Syndrome
  10. Information from support would seem to indicate that the "big batch" is QWERTZ devices going to the UK. But the wording was oddly phrased, so it isn't clear if it just happens to have a lot of QWERTZ devices, but also QWERTY, and whether it is only going to the UK, or also to other parts of the world.
  11. Someone must realize that videos should only be shot and viewed in landscape. :-)
  12. Congratulations to you. I'll be happy for you if it is the phone. However, it is really confusing that I haven't gotten my tracking info, considering I'm in the USA, not an IGG backer, paid July 31st, and my order number is 78xx. I suppose it could be randomness in the shipper and when they are sending out tracking information, *if* there are a large number of phones. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Monday.
  13. Do you have a SIM in it? Was the SIM in a VoLTE phone before?
  14. Seems to be a moderator only trick. The Member Title field doesn't show up on the edit profile screen for us mere mortals.
  15. And for T-Mobile, in particular: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2090
  16. Yeah, the older Sidekicks ran Danger OS. It was a custom OS made, oddly enough, by Danger Incorporated, the maker of the phone. Most were manufactured by Sharp for Danger Inc. Isn't there a newer LineageOS for that? HA!
  17. Yep, the only Android version, I believe. Wish they would have kept making them and supporting future versions of Android and with more memory and CPU.
  18. I will say that my Sidekicks (Sidekick 3 and Sidekick 2008, neither Android, unlike the above example) were the best keyboards on phones I've ever used. Sidekick 3: Sidekick 2008:
  19. To be clear, I was talking about my laptop keyboard. I don't have a Pro1. I'll give that page a shot on my Relay 4G sometime to see if it has any limitations. If your change makes it into an update from fxtec, that should certainly handle any lingering key-downs blocking a new key-down when someone is just trying to type. And it seems like, as you said, there are plenty of many-key-combinations available for use in games, assuming they allow custom mapping of actions to combinations.
  20. Interesting tool. I notice limitations even on my laptop keyboard with some combinations. And the tool does *seem* to have some cases where it isn't working right. If I hold down control-alt-shift and press D, for instance, the D does not light up blue, but it does show that it is being pressed above. If I'm understanding that correctly, it could make testing the Pro1 combinations a little more difficult, since you'll have to look above to see what it is doing. I guess it is possible it can read the key-up event, but not the key-down event in that case?
  21. Nice. Does that mean it will support multiple key presses at the same time (as a unique input), or that the second one will take over if they first one is still being pressed (which seems to be the problem to solve for what @jtrenchard reported)?
  22. Agreed. I pulled out my G2 (HTC Desire Z) and typed on it (with it off) and I wasn't hitting the right keys sometimes. My foggy memory says that I probably had to adjust when I went from that to my Relay 4G in 2012. Had the G2 for a couple years first, I think. My only concern with adjusting muscle memory is, as we get older, such things get harder. There is also the matter of relative to the edges or relative to numbers or relative to the middle. Lots of variables. Or is it just that your mind stores them the way your previous phone had them (was it a physical keybo
