Funny that they screwed everyone else, but disabled it on their own phone! Steve Jobs still haunts us from the grave.

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't know if a pixel can be on for display, but not touch, but if it can, that would be great for people who are accidentally triggering the touch on the edges. And for those people who don't like the curved screen distorting what is being displayed (odd, isn't it, that all this money is spent on making displays display things clearly, and then some percentage of people have no problem with it being distorted on the edges, because it supposedly looks cool?), they could both shrink it to have a normal, good, sane, flat display, and shrink the touch size to matc

I have a Pixel 1 here running Android 10 and it has the 3 normal buttons at the bottom of the screen. Did Google revert back to the normal buttons after Pie? How do you bring up menus or go back without the other 2 soft buttons?

You can try it with the existing SIM, but make sure the S8 is able to make VoLTE calls on Verizon first (video link below). If you are able to make VoLTE calls with the S8, on that SIM, then you might be able to just put the SIM in the Pro1 and dial *#*#4636#*#* and enable all 3 options and reboot the phone. If it works, you should get a 4G signal on the phone after rebooting.

Did you try calling the MVNO to ask if they can enable it? Great review.

I think divstar is asking about going into app info and setting gcam as the default camera app. Maybe fxtec set it up so that the button is tied to the default app, not just tied to that particular snapdragon app. Another possibility would be a 3rd party button mapper app. If you are in the gcam app and use the button, does it launch the snapdragon app?

Other than the button not working, did the software take pictures well with the Pro1 cameras?

Pixel 3 is the one that shares the same camera hardware for the main camera. Are the ports Pixel number specific? No camera button on the pixels.

I saw that in your recent screenshot and assumed you did something special (or used a special app) to get it over to the left side! LOL

@silversolver Can you add that T-Mobile wifi calling requires T-Mobile to do something on their end? At least that was reported by one user. Whether the phone that was previously tied to that number had wifi calling enabled at the T-Mobile end is unknown, as is whether you have to download some software. But wifi calling on T-Mobile apparently works and the way to get it working is to contact them and explain you have a BYOD situation with a phone that is supposed to support it.

What was the fix for your car BT issue? And did they get wifi calling working? And better safe than sorry, so don't feel bad.

How does the physical camera button operate?
david replied to david's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Thanks for posting the app info. So odd that they are different. Unless you are at different OTA levels? Btw, you missed a call. 😉 -

Interesting comparing what you posted to what Craig posted. Could you post the app info so we can see the version? -
Agreed, as long as the share button doesn't allow you to get into other apps. I did create another thread just for discussing the camera button:

Thanks for posting, but what are we looking at here? Settings for the built in camera app with a locked bootloader? -

Can you provide screenshots of the differences? Interesting that the shutter sound is tied to the bootloader. But if the app itself is different, for some reason, then maybe just one version of it has the sound code. -
Rather than dilute the bugs thread (Camera button discussion in bugs thread), I figured I'd start a new topic. Not having received my Pro1 yet, I am hoping someone can explain how it currently functions in different scenarios for myself and others. Like the physical keyboard, the physical camera button is something somewhat unique to the Pro1. 1) With the phone screen off, but no screen lock enabled, when the button is pressed, what happens? (For instance, does it open the default camera app and take a picture? Does it just open the default camera app, but you have to press it again

I think we are saying the same thing. I don't want someone looking through my photos of my locked phone through the camera button. I wouldn't want them to see the photos and I wouldn't want them to use the "share" function to open other apps and look around in those either. I wouldn't want them to see notifications from other applications if I have that set to not display on the lock screen as well (even if we aren't in the lock screen, but are in whatever app the camera button takes us to when pressed when we are on the lock screen). Basically, there shouldn't be a way to get access to an

Good point. We don't want anyone sneaking in through the camera button. 😉

Apps that works great with a real keyboard and in landscape
david replied to EskeRahn's topic in General Discussion
I see. I don't use widgets, so I'm probably immune to that on my Relay 4G. The Cyanogenmod launcher (Trebuchet) acts the same way as Nova, where it creates more space between icons in landscape too, so that's just what I'm used to. -

I've read about the stretching/squeezing before, but in this example above, I'm not seeing any skewing. Is it just that it is resizing the icons or is it that it is resizing them in a non-proportional way in one direction and I'm not seeing it on my monitor? -
I'm not sure if you are talking about Windows partitioning in most of that or the Recovery mode in Android, but techies want the Recovery mode in Android to do lower level things and get out of non-boot situations.

This is bad. I hope it is just a glitch due to some flashing done and not the way the phone is supposed to be.

HA! I was going off my previous post where I multiplied wrongly! LOL 😂😂😂
