Do you have VoLTE on the G6? If not, it might be grandfathered in, but the SIM won't work in a VoLTE capable phone? In other words, maybe the mule needs to be a VoLTE capable phone now? And are the APNs identical to what you get on the G6?

Doom LAN party at @Craig's house!

You didn't have to select an APN or add one?

Droid 4 came out *after* the HTC G2. But the Droid 1 came out before. Droid 2 and HTC G2 came out the same year, 2010. I had a Sidekick 2008 and Sidekick 3 before that. Not android, but the best keyboard out of all of them. And the screen opening mechanism was the most unique and the easiest to initiate. And yeah, when my Relay 4G started getting long in the tooth, I was shocked to see that there wasn't an option in the market to replace it! They had all abandoned the keyboards by then (for Android phones).
-
Did you try activating the sim in another device first (for Verizon)?
-
Or is it that they think the ideal size for a TV is 1" larger than a phone?

The Galaxy S Relay 4G is a Samsung phone. Droids weren't available on T-mobile, so I had an HTC G2 (Desire Z) as my first Android phone, and then The Relay 4G. I have gone through at least 5 of these phones. I didn't think I'd need my last spare, but due to the shipping delays with the Pro1, I had to start using it about 3+ months ago. And then that one failed too (screen flex cable) a couple weeks ago. I finally got the replacement flex cables and fixed the one I was using and one of my other spares, so now I can continue to live in 2012 while I wait for a 2019 (2020?) phone to arrive. :

It would be good if you could list any settings you needed to change in order to get it working for a given carrier too (like Craig listed that he had to add an APN).

And regarding wifi calling, this looks like a possible solution. I've never used it. I've only used other apps that they've mentioned (WhatsApp, Viber, etc.) where you need the other person to have the same app, or you have to pay for calls to regular phone numbers. But this solution appears to offer calling to regular numbers for free, yet over wifi. I guess the only downside is in it being a different number than your normal number. https://www.talkatone.com/free-wifi-calling-app/android/ Google Voice has a similar option, where you can set it to prefer mobile data/wifi instead

I hear ya! LOL At least it is on the right side of the keyboard on the Pro1. On my Relay 4G, it is on the S key, as a modifier!!! Maybe a good remapping app will be found that will allow that right slant arrow to be mapped to "/". It is even the right shape for it to sort of make sense. :-) Nice picture. How do you like the slant screen vs flat slider screen for typing on the keyboard and seeing what you are typing?

I don't have a phone handy to test if this is in the same screen as what @EskeRahn has pointed to, but picking (or adding) the right APN may be needed for T-Mobile to work properly. Here is the info on it though: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2090

I never noticed that on the pictures. I guess apostrophe is an alt-key on my Relay 4G, and that is in more sentences than question mark probably. But still, question mark seems like it would be best to have as a non-modifier key. I know it is a modifier key on a regular PC keyboard, but we aren't touch typing here. Hoping it is just something I'll get used to. I guess they were going for what people are used to in their muscle memory for touch typing on PC keyboards. Note: To be clear, I am being picky here. I am overjoyed that they put as much effort into the keyboard as they did.

This will be a deal breaker for me if there is something about the phone that makes it not work on T-Mobile where I'm located. It would be great if you could run LTE Discovery (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.simplyadvanced.ltediscovery&hl=en_US) and see which bands it is getting (or isn't getting), vs your other phones, and whether that changes being inside vs outside.
-
Yep. Many people do that to use them in cellular routers.

They are in order, but there are gaps. The order of shipping was supposed to go: 1) Used coupon + paid date/time 2) Paid date/time The order number would only come into play in that those people with earlier order numbers would be given a chance to pay earlier. How it was supposed to go and how it did go/is going do not match, for whatever reason.
-
I believe if you buy 10 phones, they *might* give you Android 10 early. That's just a rumor though. And there is no truth to the rumor. 😉
-
Thanks. Mine is 78xx, no coupon, Minnesota, paid a day earlier than you, but your order number must have somehow won out. Fingers crossed for being in the next batch!
-
Approximate order number?
-
Fingers crossed.

What is "US COUNTRY"? Is that supposed to be for the USA? As far as I know, there is only one country in the USA. 😉
-
Any word yet on what the additional cost will be?
-
@EskeRahn Sorry for your loss. They just don't live long enough.
-
Good question. I'll need to check that out next time I'm on a tall enough tree to see past the northern state boundary. There might be an ice wall up there, built generations ago, to keep the Wildlings out. 😉
-
I'm pretty sure there is *something* north of where I live (Minnesota). It doesn't seem logical that there would just be nothingness up there.
