  1. I seriously doubt many people are in the same boat and most people have a phone already that could last one more month. Maybe I'm wrong.....
  2. Pro 1 is coming with unlocked bootloader and will most likely be rootable for non techie types in no time thanks to the awesome peolple at XDA I would imagine. There's no way I'd settle for a key 2 as that is not even close to what I want in a phone and will never be rooted but if you can't wait a month then do what you have to for you but come on, a month isn't that long... patience grasshopper.
  3. I've been paying attention to the comments of potential customers on Pro 1 videos as well as the limited hands on reviews and there seems to be a few things that consistently come up that should be addressed when/if there is a Pro 2. Seems that quite a few people would have been more interested if the specs truly were flagship including chip. The battery is not acceptable for that size screen. The screen is too big and that means the keyboard is too wide and just about every reviewer who has had hands on with the device seems to have trouble stretching to reach the keys in the center
  4. I think I need another video that I can watch 100 times to hold me over until October.
  5. I agree the phone should have had a bigger battery. Even my 2015 Priv has higher capacity.
  6. Ha what do ya know, I was Trisk in that thread. Love Tasker as well and really enjoyed open kb to answer which I think Priv had as an option but I had to use Tasker for close to hang up for some reason. I lost my Priv so can't check but yes, you can use open or close kb to initiate Tasker events. Though I doubt I'd use open to answer on a horizontal slider lol.
  7. I have pretty high hopes for the phone but there's no way I'd buy a second without knowing first hand how it performs.
  8. Don't screen protectors usually have cutouts where the sensors/front camera are on a phone? Are people in this thread assuming sensors will be in the same spot as the other phone with the same screen they are ordering protectors for or just don't care about that minor detail?
  9. Any official update on how the case will look and protect or is it still gonna be a clear plastic shell covering the bottom half only?
  10. I couldn't find the option for the "I want this phone NOW" tax.
  11. I would have bought the Photon Q if the specs weren't bottom tier for that time. That was part of what killed physical sliders...in the end, they wouldn't put them out with high end specs so if you wanted flagship specs/quality, there were slabs and that's it.
  12. well after 4 credit card declines, two calls from my bank plus a text, all trying to confirm my transaction wasn't a fraud, I got mine on order today. Can see a potential loss in sales if that's happening to others though.
  13. Re-subscribing doesn't work because it still sees your e-mail address on file. Unless you were to use a different address I suppose but I'm not. Hopefully, my invite to pay for pre-order doesn't get lost in the system....
  14. hmmm I haven't seen a newsletter in a couple of months. I hope I didn't get dropped off of the list because I did pre-order. No newsletters in Spam Box either.
  15. I'm going to go with something like this pouch until/if a proper hardshell case is made that protects top and bottom half and still allows the phone's sliding mechanism to work with it on. Looks like the seller here will take custom sizes for her cases. Pro 1 is already really close in size to the S10 plus though the Pro 1 is a bit thicker. https://www.etsy.com/listing/685575471/full-grain-leather-galaxy-s10-plus-case?ref=related-1&frs=1
  16. I do wish there was something like the hardshell case I'm using on the blackberry priv. 2 pieces and can still use and slide the phone. I'm gonna end up using a leather pouch or something and I know already I'm gonna end up dropping the phone when not in the case. Not impressed at all with the available options at this point.
  17. Trusted members on the Blackberry Forum are throwing around .7 pound weight for this phone and while there is nothing to back up the claim, the members are listening and believing it and probably turning away some current Priv owners looking for an upgrade. Is there any way we can get the real weight of this device?
  18. I can definitely see it's an arrow in that picture lol. well I guess we'll see if the logic of having two of those and no second alt holds when it's released. I'm gonna pre-order regardless by the end of the month and start shopping for some leather pouches that will fit cause I'm not a fan of the case. I wish they took a page from BlackBerry Priv at least and did a two piece to protect the top half.
  19. EskeRahn: I'm talking about the key to the right of Cntrl key on both sides of the Pro 1 keyboard. I suppose it could act as Fn key but assumed it was the voice command key standard on android keyboards. Still, even if it's like the Fn key, most keyboards only have one of those as it's a less used function so I see less of a need for two of those wheras Alt is used ALL the time and would be way more useful to have one on each side. Spam71: The last time I rooted a phone was the Galaxy S3. I wasn't necessarily planning on depending on root functionality to get a standard keyboard funct
  20. Well I don't mind rooting for keymapping if that is necessary but for the life of me I can't figure out why the Pro 1 has the microphone voice command button on both sides but not Alt. My G1 had it as well as G2 and the MyTouch 4G Slide in the past. it wasn't until the Blackberry Priv that I suffered the awkwardness of alt only being on the left side of the keyboard.
  21. Price seems fair to me considering this isn't a major brand that will mass produce quantities large enough to keep the price down. Also, I just looked at the specs on the OnePlus 5T and there is no comparison really. No keyboard alone should be enough to keep out of a comparison but also little things like no stereo speakers which is a rarity, and no multi colored notification light which is like finding a unicorn these days. This doesn't just have a keyboard. it's got a sliding keyboard which is even more rare, landscape keyboard making it even rarer and 5 row qwerty with dedicated num
  22. Edit to last post: Is that a voice command button on both sides? If it is perhaps the one on the right could be an Alt key or at least have the option for end user to map the keys for personalization and I could just do that.
  23. One change that would be awesome on this keyboard is an alt key on both sides. That way if there is a series of numbers or characters to type, you could just hold the right side alt for left side numbers/characters and hold left side alt for right side numbers and characters. I type a lot on a BlackBerry Priv keyboard currently and it gets a little wacky sometimes having to hit two buttons for every number that is on the left side of the keyboard with the alt whereas all the numbers/characters on the right side flow better cause I can alt with left thumb and select with the right.
