  1. So @tdm Just curious, not trying to bug you. Is this project dead? Any possibility of AICP picking it up officially so it can get regular updates? I obviously would like it to be resurrected, but "no" or "hell, no" are fine. I just would like to know. 🙂 Whatever the answer is, thanks for all you did!
  2. Update to lineage-18.1-20210705-nightly-pro1-signed with the June 5th security patch with Magisk 23.0 and MindTheGapps-11.0.0-arm64-20210412_124247 completed successfully via adb sideload
  3. fastboot oem off-mode-charge 1 I saved it when you first posted it. 🙂
  4. There's a bunch of sellers that have them on AliExpress. They will sometimes sell out and you'll have to go looking for another. This one works for now: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32956500815.html
  5. I'm probably in the minority, but one of the reasons I never had a keyboard phone before is when I tried the first Droids, the keyboard was just too damn small. The pro1 is perfect for me. My thumbs easily reach any key without my ever changing my grip. And having a screen that size and that resolution really makes split screen practical. This phone has really made keyboarding for me possible. I am so grateful. I snap out the keyboard even to type "OK" 😄 However, I suspect there are a lot of you folks, so I hope FxTec manages to survive to make a smaller model. I think they would
  6. Guess I was lucky and got mine in before the investigation was complete. They did have me take a lot of pics of my Pro 1 to rule out damage before I sent it in. I don't think it was unusual impact and thus suspect @VaZsois correct that there are a number of possible internal causes. So it's basically a digitizer problem (well, what else would it be). Reminds me a lot of the problems the old Palm TX had, which Palm never took much responsibility for. The digitizers were plastic and developed a severe difgitizer drift-- the screen activating a point away from where the stylus was pr
  7. IIRC, there never was OTA updates. This was an unofficial version maintained by @tdm, He has currently dropped off the radar, here at least. I have moved over to Lineage 18.1, which is too bad because I much prefer AICP.
  8. Same age as mine (which got fixed by FxTec last January).

    Duplicated keys

I suspect it is the same problem that makes the pop-up for alternate characters happen. The keys seem to have a very short time-until-repeat interval. If you delay how long you dwell on a key, it will repeat. There is no setting for this in Lineage and don't remember if there was in stock or if the default interval was longer. As far as I recall, this has been happening since Lineage 16, so maybe your keys are getting stickier in their response for some reason? To be clear, I am not experiencing troubles with this, but it took me while to train my fingers. Since you were not experienc
  10. Odd we don't have the June security patch yet.
  11. I'm no expert, but based on my experience I would guess either the new cable or the new port (or both) took you to USB 2. USB 3 seems really finicky with this stuff. I now use USB 2 exclusively and have no problems.
  12. Any microSD card should be compatible. I tend to get Sandisk (currently 256 GB) and I stick to Ultra rather than Extreme because the Pro1 doesn't really get the benefit that some high end DSLRs might. Frankly, as long as it is a Class 10, you should be fine. But I'm no expert. Others here are likely to know more.
  13. Just to let you know, switching to Lineage will move you to Android 11 with current updates. That isn't to excuse the lack of updates in stock, just a useful alternative if it is practical for you.
  14. Certainly not my experience with their repair service. Have you emailed them recently? The pic above just looks like confirmation that it was sent. Has the courier provided any documentation or other proof that it was delivered? I understand your frustration, but I really don't think they have any interest in stealing customers' phones. @Erik, can you be of any help here?
  15. No troubles with Magisk 23.0 and the 31May update here, so I suspect something went awry with making that big of a jump.
  16. I have screenshot included on mine and I'm pretty sure I didn't when I first installed 18.1, nor did I find the option to include it back then. Unless I was just blind. I'm glad to have it back... I find it much more convenient there.
  17. Also, as previously reported, it works fine to take the newest Magisk version (23.0)) which is only available as an apk, and rename it as a .zip file in order to flash it via recovery when you flash the nightly. However, I should point out that I only use Magisk for SU, I don't ever open the app nor do I use any modules.
  18. I believe you are mistaking when FxTec released an update for the date of their latest updates. I believe the update released in August 2020 was the one with the April 2020 security patch. But then, I haven't been on stock for a long time either. 😄
  19. I don't have stock, but, yes, that is the last vendor security update and is that on the Lineage official weeklies as well.
  20. It will probably do nothing, but my go-to when I find something wonky is a "Battery pull restart." Hold the power button (ignore the restart screen) until the Pro1 spontaneously reboots. If it does nothing, no harm done, but I find it often sets really squirrely things right again.
  21. The pic looks like a skin made for the Pro1. Is it? Do you have a link. It's like the Dbrand Skin on my Pro1, but I used a Note 10 skin which had the right camera placement and trimmed the width for the Pro1. Just curious if there is a skin that has actually been made for the Pro1 or if the image is doctored?
  22. Actually, I would disagree. A small batch run is much more likely to have QC and build problems, especially if the company can't be there in person to supervise. In a normal batch run, they might throw out 10 devices early in the run for QC defects. What is actually more important is the they have a 2 year guarantee, that the company honors those warranties and that the warranty belongs to the device, not the original owner, so that when sold, the second owner is protected too.
