  1. Regardless of whether you use a case or not (I hate cases and don't use any on my Pro1), I highly recommend having skin on the back of your Pro1 to provide more grip (which ultimately protects the Pro1 by eliminating the slickness of the back)
  2. It's hard to tell. I was dealing with this in November and December, which was when they were full-speed on the IGG campaign. Sometimes I got an answer in 48 hours, sometimes two weeks. Their answers were always useful and good, so I just became rather zen about when the answers came. I felt strongly I would be taken care of if I was patient. And I was right. The actual warranty screen replacement was excellent. They did have me go through several stages. They had me video the problem, then they had me open up the screen assembly and check that the cable was properly seated.
  3. Sadly, that's how it starts. May take a while before it goes crazy. I could trigger it by pinching the top right (in landscape--bottom right in portrait), somewhere to the left of the camera button. At first, pinching would just fire the phantom touches once. Then, as time went by, it would trigger a phone possessed. If you get that, capture it on video to include with your warranty repair request.
  4. 1. An IGG perk is NOT a contract, which is clearly stated by IGG in many places, including when you select your perk. 2. They substituted a slower, less powerful SOC, but you are right, it won't change it that much. 3.     To be honest, even though I never use a case, I don't even notice the magnetic connector sticking out. It has never interfered with anything, never gotten caught on anything, I don't have paper clips attaching themselves to my Pro1 and it is very sturdy. It doesn't even wiggle in the port. It has become "invisible" to both my eyes and my fingers. I can't imagine not having magnetic plugs for any of my devices (have it on my Moto G8 Power as well-- Moto USB ports always mess up with continued use).
  9. I was talking about AICP when I said camera button can be used to snap pics with open camera. As I said, as far as I can remember, camera button on stock only works with Snapdragon camera, but it has been a loooong time since I was on stock.
  10. As far as I know, the camera button only works to open the camera app in stock (and only for the stock snapdragon camera). At least with open camera, once the camera app is open, you can use the camera button to take shots (although I mostly don't). Don't know about fingerprints on AICP since I never use them on my Pro1.
  11. Two weeks from when you sent it or two weeks since they received? In either case, not a long time. When I sent mine in for screen replacement it took about a month (not counting shipping to and from them (I'm in the US). They did not communicate a lot during that month, however they answered both email queries I made quickly. One, I asked them to confirm they received it (the delivery was made at end of Xmas holiday when I wasn't sure anyone was in office), the other, after a month, I politely asked for a status update. I was told they were getting ready to send it back. Which they did.
  12. Well, I'm happy I ordered a Pro1X. I think the color is growing on me and I will now have one for a daily driver and one for OS related experiments that I'm too timid to try on my daily driver. 😉 Also, never hurts to have a backup. It was agony while I was waiting for repairs. Of course (assuming I do get it), the price paid was much more reasonable than that ebay one (and more memory).

    It is, at the minimum, a screen plus the metal frame (they ask you for the color). So you don't have to mount the display. What else from the top half would depend on how those things are mounted to the frame, which I haven't looked at closely. If all the other things are mounted on a pcb also attached to the frame, maybe it doesn't give you that pcb. Not willing to open up my Pro1 just to find out, but it is still a lot more than just a display and saves you from having to deal with adhesive.

    They are providing not just the display but the entire frame, that is, the enitre top half of the Pro1/Pro1X. They even offered (don't know if they still do) choice of the new sapphire blue or the Pro1's black for the frame. So, yes, includes everything that goes in that half of the phone except the backplate, I would assume. From Alirexpress, you only get the display replacement and have to remove (unglue) the old one. For those who are handy, a good deal.

  18. They said clearly they would update monthly. Given how small they are and everything they are managing, that seems good. So I expect an update this week or next. Monthly is fine with me. I want them focusing on getting me my Pro1x rather than swatting at IGG comments.
  19. Yes they do. Contact them at info@fxtec,com with a full description of the problem(s) and they will get back to you. It may take them a week or two to reply to the email, varying on volume of mail and things like how locked down they are. I just had a successful repair done.
  20. Just a suggestion. If everyone who would love to have a new or used Pro1 posts here... well it could turn into a very long thread. 😄 I think the thread title is an unfortunate misnomer. It's a seller's market. So I think it would be more effective for people to post here when they have a Pro1 to sell and then buyers can talk about that one (or, better yet, PM the seller). Again, just a suggestion. If this thread becomes very long with buyer posts, a seller is unlikely to page back to find the first one who expressed interest.
  21. If you return something not because it's defective but because you are unhappy with it as it is supposed to be, stores may charge you a restocking fee if it has been opened. I don't know if this is a practice limited to the US or not.
  22. Is this with any sound chosen or just the default sound? If all sounds, check volume rocker and also check you didn't accidentally trigger the Do Not Disturb quick tile in the pull down notification shade (I've done that before).
