  1. It's the other way around. If you set it up as internal storage, you won't be able to take it out while in use. Otherwise the system and apps can crash and you can get a lot of problems. I don't recommend this setting anyways since a faulty card can cause a lot of trouble. I wonder though how the SD card will be recognized from apps. Will it be shown separately or will it be part of internal storage with no way of selecting it directly?
  2. I only see the data reset while I am proposing to reset data and enable the storage manually permission in case the popup doesn't work. @david No, but sometimes resetting a permission (storage) can still solve the problem. In Android you often get simple solutions while in operating systems like Windows you can use every provided tool and nothing will happen. @br0die If that doesn't work (which is likely), you could reformat your sd card. Sometimes you need to use a different file format to allow all the apps to read the card. If your sd card is currently formatted with exFAT
  3. Try to go to apps -> camera app -> storage Stop the app, delete data and cache. Then go one step back and to permissions: Ther (re)enable the storage permission. I don't know if the fault is in the app itself, but maybe this helps.
  4. The channel was advertised the first time yesterday and there will be more adverts for it. Also, the way that YouTube works, I expect a lot of publicity for it sooner or later. I'll be alright.
  5. It's a shame that he also received a phone with many software bugs but I guess it's fair since we do as well. I just hope they (FxTec) can start production soon, otherwise many potential new buyers will disappear soon. By the way, I had a reminder in my phone that told me every three months to check if there were new keyboard phones. If I hadn't, I would have received the information from Linus first. So there is definitely a wider consumer group out there.
  6. I think it does and since I'm still waiting I am happy to receive such update. It shows that they care which is more important than a specific date.
  7. How is the data usage with remote playing? I can only imagine using this with wifi because you have a steady video stream (and high latency).
  8. I don't have the Pro1 yet, but I'm looking forward on playing Age of Empires with it. It worked fine but relatively slow on other keyboard sliders (Moto Droid 4, Photon Q), so it should really be much fun. Otherwise I don't really play games on the phone anymore since they are bloated with ads or purchase options (pay to progress). I'd prefer to pay 20-60€ and have a game to play instead of having to pay unlimited amounts of money to get realistic progress. The only exceptions were Exiled Kingdoms and Andor's Trail, both RPG games. Lastly, I'll try Terraria on Android and Starbo
  9. If you have easy access to the usb port board, you could unscrew it and check it with a mulitimeter while connecting the cable. But I don't know how easy it is to disassemble, with the Moto G3 it was a thing of two minutes.
  10. Try restarting it, maybe the Pro1 has just forgotten that it was on or there is a display bug. You could also install an app to watch the battery drainage or if it actually drains the battery. Lastly, have you tried different cables (not adapters)?
  11. You all know that the phones are assembled with gloves, facial masks and some kind of hair protection? Yes, the virus can survive that long in special cases. But if production was that unhigienic, you'd have hairs, fingerprints and saliva on your phones when receiving it. Also, if it was a threat, international trades would already have been prohibited.
  12. I've done some research and this problem seems to occur rarely but I haven't found any fixes. Some users report that the problem appeared after months of using the feature. It may sound stupid, but have you tried turning it off and on again? If that doesn't help, you could delete cache and dalvik cache and if that doesn't help either, you could restore factory settings, but this should be the last step. Edit: With Android 10 resizing is also possible in landscape, so don't lose all your hopes.
  13. In stock android you can resize the two screens in portrait mode, in landscape mode this is -sadly- not possible. Force activities to resize doesn't change that for me and I could imagine that it affects the behaviour of widgets. If anyone knows an app that allows resizing in split screen or even two or three popups, I'd be very interested.
  14. You mean to set which app starts automatically with the button? I guess the standard camera app should start with the button, so it would be easy to change it by installing a secondary or third app which will cause the popup menu to open. There you can select what you prefer. Otherwise, try to go to Settings -> Apps -> gear symbol -> there are some settings, although the camera setting isn't always there.
  15. Munich, Germany. Not yet received, but will receive before general availability.
  16. On a global scale, that number doesn't fluctuate as much. We are talking about ~300.000-650.000 deaths worldwide that have been caused by the influenza virus(es). Although Corona does seem to be slightly deadlier, it doesn't seem to spread as fast as expected. As of now, less then 500 people died by the virus, which isn't much in a 1 billion people country. But it's the right attitude to prevent it from spreading further, even if it's difficult. To get back to topic: I fully understand the actions by China, but I do also understand people who waited half a year and accept paying
  17. You are right about this and I fully agree with the influenza comparison. But this doesn't change the fact that the factory is closed.
  18. @david I'd like to explain Germany when it comes to politics and european rules. If we are lucky, they will indeed be implemented in time. In this case, since the frequencies weren't used before, it's easy to do. But then comes the usage. In Germany, frequencies are sold when new technology is introduced (I guess that's the same everywhere). The last auction had the previously named frequencies, 3-4GHz and I think 6-12GHz. Higher frequencies could be sold later, I haven't read anything about a MHz range (although that doesn't mean that it couldn't come). The EU goal meanwhile is
  19. @david (sorry that I can't multi-quote on the phone) True, you are probably right about the 100 elements on a website. A lot is handled with scripts, but I don't know how multiple pictures are handled since most of them come from the same server. I am looking forward into using uMatrix on the phone in order to block most scripts anyways, but that's not a topic for this thread. You are also right about the 5G with different frequencies (and therefore latencies/ping). However, currently both "systems" are built parallel of each other and I also see 2G and 3G still working (while 3G is
  20. Well, I still didn't receive my phone and considering the virus I don't know when I will. February doesn't sound realistic to me. The only reason I'm not buying an existing phone is that I don't feel that it is ready for switching. There are many bugs and issues, the custom roms are not ready, so there is a lot of work to do in order to actually use it. I'll happily invest my time when I receive it but it would be dumb to order it earlier for having to invest more time into it. Since many other people don't mind the tiny bugs and don't have special requirements like I do, they could
  21. I have read a couple of times that support was responding very slowly in the last week. It might be that the support sits in China as well and there lies the problem. The earlier message might got overread. Shouldn't happen but we all are humans after all. I guess that Erik will be able to help you there and I'm sure you will get your refund even now. In the worst case you would give it back or resell it for ~750€/$ (the current price) and still lose no money.
  22. @david I don't have the Pro1 yet, so I can't compare right now. I'm just trying to help providing data. If you know any website with 100+ elements, you could try if it makes a difference. Also, does ping work that way? Will all elements load one after each other or aren't the requests sent all at the same time and - given the sufficient bandwidth - received at the same time (+ping =20ms)? That would mean that 20ms more wouldn't make any difference since it applies only once. I was surfing in sattelite internet for a time and had a ping of 800-1500ms. You notice that with websites but you
  23. Well, there's also a big difference between a keyboard like the one I use (PC layout) and those from Google or Apple. Their layout is horrible and you have no direct access to specific letters (äöüß), numbers and special characters ( §$%&/=?{[]}\ ). Writing code would also be much easier with the keyboard I use since <> and similar characters are easily accessible. The main difference I see is that you can type completely blind on hardware keyboards while I do have to look from time to time what I am typing on the touchscreen. That makes writing more comfortable (and you ca
  24. I remember getting ~280 keystrokes with my Photon Q so I'm very happy with my software keyboard (Clavis Keyboard) results. However, this makes the wait on the Pro1 even more painful. Comparison: ~420 keystrokes / 70wpm on laptop
