We will see. I was on a BB PRIV for 3 years, never changed anything on it and it still works..it's just..super slow and didn't age well. Battery still holds full charge and can last a day. One thing I learned from it though, never use an OLED display on maximum brightness. I ended up burning a game into the screen lol (was really into Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links at that time, you can still see the life points on the edges). So from day 1 I only used the Pro1 on half brightness. (currently I am really into a gacha called Princess Connect Re:Dive) So far I had no problems with anything. Hopefully i

Thanks, I will find another one eventually, hopefully... I know the pain of waiting, I also waited like 10 months for mine to ship and they pulled the same retailers getting it sooner and selling it for many of us too. I think they got way too many pre-orders than estimated and that ended up creating this utter chaos, then came the pandemic on top of that. Eventually you will get yours. For me it was worth the long wait. I want to get at least 5 solid years out of this phone.

Well the pandemic is still not over...and it's true. I just recently lost my job because of it. I was working in tourism as a booking agent and the industry is still crushed to a pulp. I am just surprised it still widely affects so many things. Super sucks.
-
Not anytime soon, the webpage says shipping in 10-12 weeks. But at least they updated it and now it's somewhat accurate...
-
I know it's not relevant but could you give us some info on bugfixes that don't need certification? Are those being worked on?
-
Same here but I haven't stopped any update services and it still hangs there. They f'd up something big with this update xD. More bugs is just what we needed... Honestly I adore the hardware too but the software has been problematic from day 1 I got it. I didn't think I'd game much on mobile but I ended up gaming on it due to pretty decent performance but the audio crackling drives me nuts, even on low volume. I understand security is important but they can't even keep up to date with those updates (So they are kinda pointless anyway), at least focus on fixing bugs affecting user experien

Wow it could get pretty big if they really manage to sell in Japan because they love "old" tech, many companies still use fax machines lol.
-
@VaZso I got it too, installed it but I am not impressed. The audio crackling is still not fixed in games even though Lineage had it sorted AGES ago. I wish they could cross update or send each other bugfixes or whatever because it's pretty annoying... A change log would be nice too. But at least they finally got this one certified so it's getting pushed out now......
-
Ah I see, so the problem is getting certified. I wonder why that takes ages.

Apparently recent phones from the factory are leaving with more up to date software and security patch. (latest I saw was April update with also 2020 April security patch) How come these are not pushed out to everyone? I am still on the March update with 2019 Sep security patch. When I try to update it says it's the most recent but that's obviously not true.

Not missing my BB Priv, how I managed to stay on it for 3 years is still a mystery. -
Yeah it's not "real" leather. By the way it seems putting some weights on it will work in the long run to keep the shape. Compared to yesterday there was already a big improvement.
-
That's a good idea. Thanks! Before I try and bruteforce it I am now putting some weights on it and see if that can stretch the leather at the edge a bit more in the long run.
-
It was just a tiny bit more tighter so the case glued in didn't make much of a difference to that. The stiff part has metal in it . I'd rather not mess with that. But as you can see on the pic, when I push it down with my finger (and when it's upside down) it's good because the leather bit still has space. I am researching a way now to put a fitting closing flap / latch thing on there somehow to keep it closed.

The Dux Ducis Universal case arrived (this is the 5.5-6" version of course). Overall not great, not terrible. The Pro 1 is just way too thick of a phone lol. In size it's almost identical to my Priv case which is very good because the previous Puro case was considerably bigger to the point it was almost very pocket unfriendly, just like that pre-order pouch. I put the Huawei P20 Pro silicone on the glue, it holds alright. (sorry about my horrible cutouts..sadly I don't have precision tools and this was done with small scissors) Sadly the case can't close na

In the meantime I am doing another case experiment. This time it's the Dux Ducis Universal case. This one really doesn't seem it needs any tinkering since you can fold it to access the camera. Although directly gluing the phone inside seems a bit sketchy...so I also ordered a Huawei P20 Pro soft case based on @EskeRahn's experiments. So in case the adhesive lets go there will be still some bumper protection. So the idea is, pop the phone in the silicone and insert it in the flip case like that. Hopefully there will be enough space for it to fit comfortably so I ca

I discovered this the hard way....Got a P20 Pro stiff case thinking it would fit but nope. I was lucky it was cheap at least so not a big loss.
-
@EskeRahn Did you test a TPU case for the Huawei P30 Pro by any chance? It's almost identical in size to the P20 Pro but it has a hole next to the camera already which would be good for the secondary mic so I am wondering if it would fit or would that extra 4mm in height make the case pop off? What do you think? Edit: Nevermind, on pictures it does seem pretty significant when the phones are side by side.
-
Damn...that doesn't make me too optimistic it will be fixed in stock then..
-
Maybe it's the same issue but I get weird crackling sounds strictly in games... Music players and youtube are flawless. So I don't really get it. An official fix would be nice. Headphone also works, this just happens with the phone speakers. Edit: Nevermind, headphones do crackle too in games actually. Soo weird.
-
It's the same sadly.

The Puro case arrived. (https://www.puro.it/en/smart-wallet-universal-xxl.html) It's a mixed bag. (sorry for crap photowork tho) Size comparison with the pre-order sleeve: It's a bit bigger but the size is correct, including thickness. The quality is very nice and this eco-leather is amazing to the touch. The magnetic latch is very strong. About the mechanism inside: Thanks to the holes every button is accessible. However you can only position it in two ways. You cannot position it on the power and volume buttons. (red) 1. Together with the pow

I mostly use Magic Dosbox and it's amazing with all the classics. Just put on Hocus Pocus and Jazz Jackrabbit recently.

I think the buttons and fingerprint reader will be fine because there is a hole on the side of the grip. The grip itself could turn out badly but we will see. In case it will block the screen from opening I will just shave away the top of it or something. A bit expensive for an experiment but I want a case with the least amount of DIY modifications. I found similar cases but their grip didn't have a hole and I figured I would just break those trying to make a hole.
