Exactly. Finqwerty is just layouts. Don't feel bad about using them, cuz the layouts included don't even let you type slash. Fxtec is taking forever to fix this basic stuff. It's all been reported by users since November. And the lack of slash key was complained about years ago, by me for example. All this stuff is resolved in Lineage the way stock should have done it. Including easy ways to type £ - that "SYM" key for example that isn't used with stock. Nobody knows why stock is taking so long to fix software issues that were reported in November/December, even those with sol4 points

" Dear Jessica, Thank you for contacting us. Your order is being processed as normal. Unfortunately, things are taking slightly longer than we anticipated. We have a small number of devices which are ready to ship and will be dispatched next week. All remaining customer orders are expected to be produced by the end of this month. Please understand the coronavirus situation worldwide is developing on a daily basis, and our given deadlines are subjected to change. Samsung. Always. Anywhere. So smooth, no bloat, great add block add-ons, runs fast and SO customizable.2 points

I have both devices, and if you can over look the flaws on both phones it boils down to how much you need to use your phone in portrait. Of the 5 main apps I use 3 are only portrait compatable, so the pro 1 is my daily device and my cosmo is used for my word documents, as I find it a better device to type on, it also has a Pound sign which the pro 1 doesn't unless you install keyboard apps, which for me kind of defeats the purpose of a keyboard phone. the keyboard should be fully functional and not have basic symbols missing, but thats my view. So you need to ask your self that question. How m2 points

Because "then" a lot happened. In December, this was a different world. I understand everyone's disappointment including mine, but why are some people so unwilling to give a company like Fxtec the benefit of doubt, even in a situation like this? In this situation, we can only hope that they will survive, since they're NOT Apple, or Samsung, for that matter, which, beside their electronics division, even has a weapons of war division that can hardly fail in this day and age. Whether I get my expensive toy two weeks later or earlier is really the least of my problems now.1 point

Then fxtec shouldn't constantly say otherwise in its newsletters. Somehow it's the same as in December. At that time they also wrote that they send a batch every week, but then they did something else.1 point

Thanks for the tip. It's looking great indeed. The UI makes a lot of sense with the tool bar at the bottom only in portrait. Customizable tool bar is also great. I'm pretty sure I can make Fulguris better though, given enough time 😃1 point

Perhaps because shipping is the more expensive the fewer devices are shipped in a batch. And while they actually did send out some devices piece by piece when a significantly longer delay had been the alternative, if I remember that correctly, I'm perfectly good with two more weeks if things are really on their way to become normal now. It's not that the 2½ months since the Chinese lockdown could have improved Fxtec's budget.1 point

yesss but this info is more than one week old...so where is info about posting of small number of devices?1 point

Strictly the FinQwerty is not an active app, it just present a stack of pre-designed layouts for the system to present the user to pick from, If your system is rooted, you can alternatively copy in the relevant files, and will not need the app...1 point

I'm (not yet on Pro¹...) checking out some browsers again and for the time being I've decided to make Opera my standard browser, as it indeed checks all of my boxes – proper text reflow; allow zoom also when prohibited by the page; adblock; compatibility with the Bitwarden (potentially self-hosted) password storage app. Very nice.1 point

Hi Guys, Just an update of the progress. After the front case breaking twice due to drops, I made it a bit beefier. I also Cut out a section so that the front case does not sit on the first row keys. Not sure if it is enough for people with bigger fingers or with long finger nails. I'd need to find someone with thicker fingers to try it out. I also made some more adjustments to the the back case for usability. I don't have super detailed pictures of the back case adjustments but I am fairly confident that I am close to finished product. Here are some shots. If yo1 point

I had the Gemini, not the cosmo. However my opinion is the Pro1 is far more useful to me. TL;DR My Gemini is fragile, the hinge is plastic, and will eventually break ( and I'm taking good care of my devices ). The metallic plates are locked in place by tiny asperities in the plastic body. This is ageing fast and I start to loose the metal plates just by opening the device. The only good thing is the screen is protected when closed, but, the keys leave marks on it, as the screen is in contact with the keyboard. So use a screen protector film... There is two usbC port, but only one can1 point

I've only played with Cosmo for a while but own Pro1, my observations from that: Pro1: faster nicer SoC, smaller form factor, only really suitable for thumb typing but really nice feeling keyboard. Definitely my favorite of the two because I primarily want to use it where I don't have a table to sit it on and type with thumbs. Also the way it snaps open/closed just makes me feel happy. The curved screen is the biggest downside in my opinion, it's harder to protect and more prone to impacts due to covering two sides of the front with glass. Cosmo: sadly mediatek SoC, very big phone, keybo1 point

In my mind, the best way to keep people from losing faith in the product when there are production delays is to be up front about the delays and keep the communication flowing. People can easily get antsy and impatient if all they hear is silence. It is the same concept behind hold music and the message that plays assuring the person on hold that their call is important. In this case it is hearing silence about a product that they likely have already been billed for. In all honesty, we would like to hear something from you guys at least weekly on the forum here. OK STEP BY STEP COMING UP... 1. Ensure keyboard mapping is set to no keyboard mapping 2. Click Advanced keyboard settings 3. Click Key repeating 4. Currently I have selected Slight key delay (recommended) 5. Open your keyboard 6. Go to your web browser and select the address bar, so that the flashing text entry cursor is flashing. 7. A little keyboard icon will appear at the top right of your screen in landscape. (unfortunately unscreenshotable.) 8. Click on the icon and Select Keyboard helper rather than Gboard. 9. You will notice now when you clo1 point

I don't get this thumb typing thing... Have never used just my thumbs on the pro 1, or my old D4 for that matter, it would be so slow. From reading about the Cosmo on other places seems the software has many bugs... sorry, many more bugs.0 points
