I almost never use the provided charger, unless the phone is low and I know I'm going to need to run out the door with it soon, and then I don't let it charge all the way. Mostly I use my old desktop with 2,0 USB ports and an old USBA to C cord I used with my Nexus 6p.3 points

Ctsprofile pass is doable via MagiskHide props config. And Netflix can be installed via direct download, like apkmirror. Not real solutions obviously, but good workarounds. Now my banking app tells sometimes that I have apps installed whichh use root and suggests uninstalling those apps, but it doesn't prevent using the banking app.3 points

Sadly you are not the only one having quality issues and support has been very inconsistent from what I can tell. From the two devices I own one was broken on arrival much like yours and the other within 6 months of use. I'm guessing they have had a lot of support requests since they just shipped a relatively large batch of devices. See if @Erik can help you somehow.3 points

I've seen the solution to this somewhere on this forum. Either on this thread or on the Lineage test builds thread.2 points

I bought one of those for travelling. I think the brand is AUKEY. It is rather large and heavy (which unconsciously makes us think it's a "quality" item...). So maybe not the first choice for someone who travels really light, but it has 2 2.1A green ports and one QC orange port. It lives in my travel briefcase. For everyday use my BB Priv's charger is plugged beside my bed and I connect the phone to it every night. There's and old dual-2.1A Moto X charger at the office should the need arise. And in the car I have a QC charger plugged on the cigarette lighter, but that guy hardle ever sees2 points

The POCOF1 port of GCAM works very nicely, aside form the upside down viewfinder for night sight. https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/themes/port-modded-google-camera-hdr-night-t3910336 But, actually, Open Camera, from the play store, works pretty well. On the other hand, I wouldn't be mistaking me for a camera connoisseur or expert. 😄2 points

This is a recommendation I make to all my friends irrespective of the brand/model they buy. Especially because for a while now almost 100% of new phones come with QC chargers. These are a great way to make the customer wnat to switch phones after a year's use!2 points

Note that the battery consumption of LineageOS is quite lean by it self. So what you experience could be some apps eating the battery in the background, or you are using it actively a lot (Displays are always eating a lot, especially if set bright, and oddly for amoled especially blue). Try to note the battery consumption while you are asleep it should not be above roughly ½% per hour. Have a look at the below, where it was (almost) idle for slightly over 4 days (99h) between 5th and 9th of August, and used 46%2 points

@SchattengestaIt that is quite possible and we do know there is outside investment.2 points

I've seen this with another small company that a bigger investor demanded a physical action with a notification for any kind of unusual money transfer in order to prevent money loss or theft. It could very well be an internal policy with the same reasons since they can't risk any loss of money. What I find most difficult here is that the order doesn't seem to be cancelled until the refund is done. The worst thing for Fxtec would be that the device gets delivered and has to be sent back since it wouldn't be needed anymore. That would be a huge loss of money that would be easy to prevent.2 points

If they are doing refunds via IBAN makes sense a bit, I have to go into my bank as the website and app don't allow it. You can make transfers to UK account's easily just need the sort code and account number.2 points

Don't know if it's a solution exactly, but I give my setting and I don't see this behavior. But if it continues, download The Google messages app.1 point

Unfortunately QC chargers does not come with a simple switch to select normal or quick charge (I have not found one yet). BUT you can easily find QC 3.0 chargers with two or more slots, where only one is QC. This is a very handy thing. Use the normal slots normally and only the QC3.0 one when you are really in need of it. See also this I use one found on ebay that provides 5W in two slots and 20W QC3 in the last one. it is 2.5cm thick, and 5x5cm excluding plug (85mm including EU plug) so not much bigger than other chargers.1 point

Yessir, I already did that! Am just giving it a few days to have a larger data sample. 👍1 point

He he. Well If you got more that one phone in play, one may be idle for a while. And I deliberately left it (almost) idle to have a better estimate of the idle consumption than my previous claim that it was about 1%/h, it really is only about 0.5%/h I would recommend to install something like 3C Battery Manager (the image is from that) or GSAM, and be sure to give them a little extra privileges (see this), and use that to help spot the culprit(s) eating your battery1 point

It has not been tested on that OS and is most likely not working. Stock is using key events to broadcast keyboard status change instead of sensors. I'm assuming @tdm fixed that in LOS which is definitely the way to go but that's also breaking compatibility with apps developed for stocks. If ever those changes make it to Stock I will adjust Fx Service to work with them which could make it work for LOS. I'm hoping to get back my second Pro1 at some point in which case I could possibly try use LOS and port Fx Service. Don't hold your breath though.1 point

I use MindTheGapps. It may be better for integrating AOSP apps. I don't use many Google apps, but they install fine from the store and, bonus, aren't installed as system apps. May not work as well the other way around,1 point
-
Oh right, I installed a more complete flavour of OpenGapps (it's called "stock") and I got Gboard instead of AOSP. So I'll get around to installing AOSP keyboard. Thanks for the tip!1 point
-
Honestly, I don't know. It just works with the physical keyboard. I don't see a specific setting for it either on keyboard settings or the settings for the AOSP keyboard (which is the soft keyboard I use). I do notice it doesn't work for some reason in the Fulguris browser, but works in Firefox and all the writing apps I use.1 point

Are you folks saying it is better to use another charger than the fx tec fast charging one? e.g. a samsung travel one?1 point

Oh my, the battery temperature should never ever reach 50°C. Actually, you want the battery to stay far away from 50°C, if you want it to last for a while. I always put my phones on a metal surface for cooling, when charging the battery. The fridge might be a little too cold though. If the battery itself drops below 5°C, you risk an internal short while charging. When a safety protection kicks in from charging the battery, regardless of the current capacity, something is wrong. Either the charging circuit was designed by someone who doesn't know anything about lithium batteries, or t1 point

I wasn't aware anything was broken. Everything is acting properly and just as I would expect. So I'm confused.1 point

I now have cut away almost the entire right side of my P20 silicon case. I believe the small cutout for the power button was shifting around in tight pockets activating the screen by accident. When I took out my phone with an active flashlight this morning, i finally had enough. Been running around without any fingerprints set up the last two days. Slider also works better now. Still, this opens up new ways for dust and lint to sneak into the back of the case. Edit: and it was this issue all along.1 point

Try apkmirror for Netflix. I haven't tried straight download from Netflix website, so it might be newer version or something. It is also possible that Magisk is needed to hide root, to make Netflix work. I haven't tried without Magisk. About Magisk, I am not a guru, far from it. Not an android guru either, but I have some experience in Linux systems, which help a bit. But Magisk itself is quite straightforward stuff to install and set up (apply MagiskHide for apps you don't want to see root). The props config is little bit trickier, you need a terminal app to set it up but there's quite g1 point

Yeah, that could be a reason. And I'm really not in a position to make hypothetical assumptions about their banking conditions. So I apologize for that. It is indeed quite funny how often we speculate in this forum about what might be the reason for what, poking around in the dark (especially with regard to delivery delays and communication policy). 😅1 point

I can confirm the findings of @EskeRahn. I just made some comparative tests with the phones I have right now, i. e.: Fairphone 2 and Jolla 1. In the band of 2.4 GHz, the Pro1 is between 2 to 18 dBm less sensitive. The other 2 phones give similar results between them. In the band of 5 GHz, the Pro1 is between 2 to 10 dBm less sensitive than the FP2. Having the keyboard opened or closed does not change much the results. (apps used : Wifi Analyzer on Android devices, Wlan Monitor on the Jolla 1)1 point

Thank you for the FX Service App, it is quite useful. But I can't get Lock Screen on Keyboard Close to work on LineageOS. The screen just rotates but nothing else happens. Accessibility Service is enabled. Is there any setting that I am missing?1 point

There is a principal difference in paying a bill and making a refund... It could be their specific bank's requirement or some general rule - I do not know. We would need someone with detailed knowledge on how UK banks do stuff to give an exact answer. I just reposted what they have stated earlier.1 point

This is a very small start-up and I think they use as much power as they can to push the waiting pre-orders out. I do not know the size of their support 'stack'.1 point

Agree. Sliding isn't easy has my HTC Vision or Samsung Relay T699... As for backlight, can be good if it was brighter, or at least can be control in the settings... I found it's too dark.1 point

You got yours in 6 months! Holy cow, that was fast. So, now, you'll just be in the same boat a lot of others were in. And one more thing... it's just a phone. Some perspective here. Life does and *should* go on.1 point

I have now processed the refund request for you. We're just a little overwhelmed at the moment, but we should get back to everyone by the end of this week. Workload piling from months of lockdowns has to be done in a few weeks.1 point

Yes really odd. Only tried out the most basic of the launcher, not open&close. For some reason F(x)tec have chosen the 'keys' to be sent at close&open as F5 & F6, so at first I thought if total Launcher reacts to those, but that is NOT it. If I fake the keys by one of these adb shell input keyevent 135 adb shell input keyevent 136 The bug does not follow. So the slide open/close does more than just sending those - that was new to me.... Interesting... ADD: Please note that the above is not entirely correct, @Sean McCreary pointed out that it sends Fn-F5 &am1 point

I like the way that Total Launcher handles the different orientations but every time I open or close the keyboard it shows the pages overview. Is there any way to prevent that?1 point

Finally got an answer 48 hours later. Stay tuned and will see what's happen next.. Slion, wow, 2 broken devices... 2020 is the baddest year if my life.. My health isn't very good + everything (COVID) and now, the phone! That is for my wife, supposed to give my phone to celebrate your wedding anniversary... It was a surprise when she saw it, she was very happy, but now have to return it, her face touch the ground along with her tears...0 points

Yeah I'm sure. 20200707 was installed on the 9th of July I think. I went to LOS two or three weeks ago. So that was after 20200707. Besides, there was a topic about video out from ages ago. Everyone in there had video out, everyone but me. This is my first phone. Delivered back in February I think. Went through all the updates and several resets and LOS, stock, LOS. And another thing.... This is one of the new phones below. Upper left corner is black. Now I have two phones that can go back 🙄😒😡 Edit: I have to send them my phone in regards to my USB C video out no0 points
