I ordered my device last April. I am still waiting with excitement for it. It is now mid November and nothing new on it. I am very disappointed in just receiving it. I know we have covid to contend with and all that but its been a long time and the company will give me no updated information. I paid good money for it and would like to see it sometime soon. Thanks, Bob4 points

Just to let you know, there once was a note that said support tickets get bounced back to the end of the list with every new request on the same ticket, and they also said they'd have huge loads of mail to go through now with the Indiegogo campaign for the Pro¹ X going on. (Me, I've ordered my Pro¹ in September 2019 and I'm still waiting as it didn't make it into the latest batch of QWERTZ devices which were shipped this September and so I have to be patient for some more weeks...)4 points

This is intended as a central entry point with links to known ROMs for the PRO1/PRO1X. You will need android adb / fastboot tools that officially can be found here (Windows / Linux / mAc) Important step BEFORE changing from Android initially!! If you want to ever be able to change the phone back to the state it had when you received it with stock Android, there is an important step that is needed before flashing any non android-based ROM, That is to backup the persist partition. If the device is unlocked and a recovery boot is present a fairly simple partition backup method (fo3 points

I've heard really good things about Lineage but I'd never looked into it "because I like Android." I never realized Lineage WAS android. Thank you for these resources, I'll try it out when I have time.3 points

I have also bought replacement screen panel for 50$ from Aliexpress but I would prefer official screen replacement assembly with frame if the price is not too high. Previously you have been able to buy screen replacement assembly from F(x)tec (if they have stock) for 150£ (or ~200$). F(x)tec is now offering special kit with battery for the same price. However, I still think that the price is too much since you can buy the screen panel elsewhere. With the USB charging board the kit would be much more attractive. I would like replacement keyboard also but I think that it could affect t3 points

I have also stocked up some panels but I had to replace my original panel because of ghost touches. However, my replaced panel (bought at Ali) has some missing curve at one of the corners and that is why I have ordered another displays. When also the last one will arrive, I plan to test them and replace it with a 100% perfect one if there is any, it is not a really hard task anyway. The replacement keyboard is a good idea plus also the battery and USB panel are good ideas.2 points

Has there been any news here? I would also love to have the possibility to decrypt my userdata if the system is in an unbootable state. I like to experiment a lot, so this could easily happen :)2 points

I want a perk with just the keyboard of choice so I can get two of them at a cheaper price. Spare screen assembly is much nicer than just the panel. I have stocked up two spare panels but I have to say I'm not looking forward to attempting such a repair.2 points

On this special kit, I would rather have had a kit with Battery + USB PCB + a keyboard foil + Keyboard of the users choice. The screen is (still) really easy to find on-line.2 points

New build is up, the link in the OP is updated. Changes: * Fixed keyboard backlight. * Fixed incremental file update. New MD5: 8d557ea563667d1332dd99729fa5e4ca This is a full update because the existing incremental updater is broken. Future updates should be incremental and automatic, if all goes well.2 points

My is qwerty one, they should be less rare. I was mainly disapponted by the fact, that support said, that device will be send in a few days, but it was not. Will wait for some more time, I guess.1 point

I remember that, also a long time ago, some jurisdictions (Germany in any case) explicitly legalised circumventing such copy protections if that was necessary to properly use the item in question, specifically software with copy-protected floppy disks, CDs or hardware dongles (before USB, they even made parallel-port dongles), so the case you mention might even have been legal, not just morally legitimate. All of that of course was before the content industry established laws which forbid even private copies of copy-protected material which would have been legal under usual fair-use clau1 point

My back button keeps being activated at even the slightest touch to the bottom left corner of the screen, like if I'm resting the phone in my left hand for example. I use Edge Null but it doesn't seem to work on the system buttons. Does anyone else have this issue or any suggestions? It's detecting a press from like a full inch from it's icon.1 point

I hope you get some news soon, posting to keep this thread up in the list.1 point

I'm not sure if it's for newer systems, as the driver is dated from 2019. Maybe it was too sensitive for the screens they got while it works fine with the ones that have a bit more insensitive edges? I don't have an older display here so I can't test right now if it still works. It probably works but might react even more to edge taps than the current one. Probably not a problem if you're using LineageOS or AICP, as there you can set you own margin, but that's just my guess. I'm not using stock, but I don't think it will break SafetyNet. To me it sounds like it's installed inside t1 point

Thanks - the screen was fine. I had 20 of those, so I could test a few 😉 But an update: A fellow member sent me the instructions and files he received from F(X)Tec - and it worked fine! And the best thing is: It's really painless if you have a rooted OS. No debug firmware needed, no reflash, no wiping of data. Just one single APK, a firmware file and access via adb to change some permissions for the touchscreen driver files. So if anyone has the same issues: With a rooted OS, it takes 2 minutes to fix it 😄1 point

It seems to be stabilising itself, the spontaneous reboots have been getting less frequent 😁 ADD: This seems to be related to apps, see later posts.1 point

For stock Android Pie, you could try the solution @Slion linked above Apart from that you could go for some of the Android 10 (AKA Q) distributions, where this option is build in, e.g. Lineage 17.1. (Settings►System►Gestures) You can start here to look at available alternatives.1 point

You do know you can disable the touch screen using Fx Service? I'm sorry you are having that issue yourself. I had it too after 6 months of use.1 point

Thanks very much. I will look in to this further but probably not post here just incase it is against forum rules to discuss such naughtiness1 point

It has started getting pretty bad, coming more and more often spontaneously and lasting longer when it does, I made another compressed video and sent it to them (although that probably backed up my place in the queue even though I used their acknowledgement email that said provide any further information above the line). Ghost touches launching apps and menus I didn't have the touch indicators turned on or it would have been even clearer, bt it lasted long enough that I could catch it. Usually, by the time I have fumbled for my other phone it is over. Curiously, the pinch spot1 point

I can confirm Aurora and Whatsapp would work on a Pro1 running SFOS but you would need rpms from a XA2 (meaning license + device) and it wouldn't be legal. However if you purchase a XA2 license alone and ask the community it would at least be close to morally acceptable (in my opinion, but who am I to tell something illegal is morally acceptable? D:).1 point

You could hide the navigation buttons and use an app that enables gesture navigation à la Android 10. I did that like a week after getting my Pro1 in January and never looked back. Easier to navigate, more screen real estate for your apps. I found it's really hard to go back to navigation bar once you tasted gesture navigation.1 point

Downloaded. Installed smoothly and the keyboard backlight works! 🥇 Oh, and has the November security patch!1 point

Figured out the issue with the keyboard backlight. Lineage decided they wanted to add the keyboard backlight logic into the Android core (frameworks/base) and delete the keyboard backlight logic from the lights HAL. This is Lineage specific -- neither AOSP nor AICP have it. I made a brief attempt to add the Lineage code into AICP's frameworks/base but it didn't go smoothly. So I'm just going to revert the change and move on. I hope to have a new build within a few hours.1 point

Just published release v1.0.8 tackling bookmarks export issue on Android 10 and some keyboard shortcuts update as mentioned above. @Hook your bookmarks export should work then, it lands in a folder below that path Main Storage \ Android \ data \ net.slions.fulguris...1 point

According to the email that I received the repair kit is for Pro1 also. The screen kit looks like to be full assembly with the frame but I think that it is blue color. USB charging board would have been a good addition. Then I would back it immediately.1 point

Android 10 seems to present some additional challenges with the external SD card. With Open Camera, I had to go to "more camera settings" as usual, but unlike with Android 9, I had to toggle on "Use Storage Access Framework." Then it allowed me to give permission for the "Save Location" to access a folder on my SD card and now Open Camera is saving to the SD card again. Google seems to be determined to make things as difficult as possible for using SD cards. Grrrr1 point

It's not an inch above, rather the bottom most left corner. If I hold it down the button highlight displays which should be it's fairly lenient hotbox but my finger is like 0.25" to the left of that. Tried to screenshot it but sadly the highlight goes away as the shot it taken.1 point

Depending on humidity my screen can be activated a few mm above the display, but nothing as far as an inch1 point

Just got the Pro1 today and somehow got it working on Verizon based on the instructions here. Context: I have an existing account with Verizon. I've been swapping my sim to new devices for years. I've been carrying my sim from Droid Turbo, Turbo 2, Moto Z force, Moto Z2 force, Pixel 3 and now to the FXtec Pro1. Steps I took: Insert existing active sim from Pixel 3. Skip initial setup step to setup network Connect to wifi Update to latest update go to dialer enter *#*#4636#*#* Enable all toggles under phone 1 Set network to LTE only1 point

So much time have passed since I have payed for pro1 (#48416 from 20-th January 2020), but still no tracking info available. After contacting support around 1 month ago, they said, that tracking info will be available "in the next couple of days", but status is still "Processing". Now support is not even responding to emails. This attitude towards customers is simply bad. I didn't issue a refund yet only because I really like idea of pro1's keyboard.0 points

Thanks. It must be a hardware issue. I installed KeyEvent and I get no response when i touch the camera button.0 points
