My friend was accepting a call, then put the phone down and the next time he wanted to use it, it was dead. It turned out to be caused by a faulty flash (UFS), such things may happen. It ran maybe only about 1-2 months... F(x)tec has replaced it and replacement unit is still working. My unit is more then a year old now.5 points

You can aquire root rights through adb (DevOps - USB debugging - Rooted debugging) without rooting the phone. Run adb root from your computer and delete "/persist/data/fingerprint".4 points

Happy to be back in Pro1 land again π Just setting it up and installing all the apps I had on the last one.3 points

I want the pro1 keyboard layout to match with my desktop keyboard, since I will run linux proot on pro1 and want to have my emacs+vim keybindings and muscle memory matching across devices.2 points

they are also working on dual boot and stuff. I wish they would focus on making the phone a reliable pick for everyone instead on what helps them sell it on IGG. It is somewhat hard to recommend the phone sometimes, despite it being awesome. But you often have to say something like: It is awesome, you just have to install another OS, or software to control the keyboard, the rotation and the camera...2 points

I had to miss mine for two months, then five months. Missed mine so much that a bought my wife a new phone so I could confiscate hers. LoS 18.1 fixes almost everything for me. It's a shame the algorithm on the camera is this bad. And I would have liked the option to use HD Bluetooth codecs. Apart from that, this phone is going nowhere until either the Pro2 is released or it has become unusable (like my Photon and Droid 4).2 points

Here is a good place. Or if you prefer discord, perhaps we can make an AICP channel in the Pro1 discord. Or we could make a Pro1 channel in the AICP discord. I doubt this is AICP specific. It is more likely an issue with hardware or kernel. Again, this is most likely a hardware or kernel issue. There is an OTA function. This is an unofficial build, so there are only updates when I choose. And I have been busy with other things for a while. All the developers are working on R now, so Q is pretty stable. There have been a few security updates since the last build,2 points

I bet not many will be surprised to hear that I love mine too. π I would like to see some software fixes (and a new security update) soon though....2 points

Just looking on my memories page on Facebook. One year ago today is when I got my Pro1 Used up all my stickers as gifts. How long have you had your Pro1? Do you still love it?1 point

Having quite the issue with my Pro1. Had the phone for nearly a year now and for most of it no real issues. A couple of months ago I unlocked the bootloader and installed Lineage 16.0. Everything was good except that every time I setup a fingerprint, it would work without issue until I restarted the device where fingerprints would always disappear. Originally I figured it was a bad flash and left it as because I was barely using my phone at the time. But now I tried to reflash and Im still getting the same issue. Things I've tried - changing pin/pattern - enabling/disabling secure boo1 point

I think it was not bad in general, but - it was not perfect as per personal preference like @_DW_ wrote - it was not good for international layouts The latter was my main problem of not buying it, but the former was also a problem for me, but much smaller. So that leaded me to QWERTZ keyboard instead of QWERTY what I would originally chose unless there is no national keyboard for my language which is very unlikely. However, if there was only shifted QWERTY version, I would have been bought that one, but unshifted QWERT(Y/Z) version is much more convenient for me, even as the1 point

I think its a personal preference thing I've never had an issue with it shifted π€·ββοΈ1 point

I'm curious what was bad with the shifted keyboard. I thought they made them like that so that the most commmon keys are along the center. So I guess that doesn't really work well?1 point

Got a response from fxtec Support Team (FX Technology Limited) 28 Jan 2021, 12:59 GMT Hello, Thanks for your message. The QWERTY KB layout will be unshifted. Feel free to let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. Kind regards, F(x)tec Support1 point

I love mine even more than at the beginning. Getting used to the size and the keyboard took some time. To work around software Issues too. But I can only say, after more than a year, I would buy it again!1 point

Indeed - I was already using Lineage without issue for a good while - long after any flashing took place. I was browsing Twitter and the screen faded to off. Now I'm stuck in this state. :(1 point

It isn't easy to brick a Pro1 just by software indeed though, you'd really have to be trying.1 point

Honestly, it isn't that easy to brick your phone installing Lineage. What happened to PokeParadox didn't seem to be related to flashing other than by coincidence. Believe me, if flashing were dangerous, my Pro1 would be in London... Oh, wait, nm... π1 point

That's more than likely what happened to my Pro1, although I didn't actually see mine fade out as I had put it into my pocket.1 point

Update on my own shenanigans: Got an email today telling me that my Pro1 can't be repaired so they have despatched a replacement. Should arrive in a couple of days.1 point

Yeah this is my biggest dislike with it having to look head on to see which notification I am actually receiving.1 point

I have tried to take some images, but none are good.... in showing neither Pros nor cons. The light is made from individual R+G+B LEDs, with no diffuser. Clean R, G, B colours work just fine and bright, and that is the ones used in stock. If you try to use base colour combinations to get more colours, these will not keep the combined colour when viewed from a shallow angle shadowing one of the base colour-LEDs If/when I need to take a Pro1(X) apart, I will try to add some kind of diffuser above the LEDs.1 point

Okay, I had used the zip for 20.4 add it seemed to fail, though I can't swear I didn't type something wrong. I just tried 21.0 and it worked just fine flashed from recovery! Yay! I'm rooted.1 point

Flashed it this morning, with open Gapps nano and magisk, I still didn't get around all the settings, until now it's awesome I flashed the magisk zip file of their website right after Gapps without reboot, easy and working perfectly I'm still looking for some setting we had in LOS 16 , I won't report them missing until I finish getting around all the settings1 point

Good question. I had not actually checked. It seems "su" is present in their sources, but does not build by default. This is the good old bog standard "su" that ships with AOSP, no integrations with Privacy Guard or anything like that. So I have to assume everyone who uses AICP and wants "su" is running magisk. But I'll look into it some more, as I refuse to install magisk on any of my devices.1 point

Definitively! I am one of those rare people who can't get enough options and settings to screw with Anyway, we have advanced settings and developer options already in AOSP and LOS, and LOS offers more settings than AOSP. I don't think LOS would agree to add even more settings1 point
