  1. Try to tighten the screws first. That usually helps. If not it depends on the part that wiggles and if it is in open state or not. Usually some dampers help, or just shoving a tiny piece of paper under the hinge.

  2. It is sad indeed. But as I see it they had very few alternatives after being swindled. Redesign the Pro1(x) using as much as they can of the existing with the remaining money. Await the months or years a trial may take, and hope they win, and HOPE they can buy and stock whatever 835 they could find (if any!), and then have someone making the pcbs if they win - a high risk gamble, and the device would likely be quite outdated then, and no income while you and others were waiting. Start the development of a totally new Pro2, my guess would be it would reach us after 2021. and m

  3. This is intended as a central entry point with links to known ROMs for the PRO1/PRO1X. You will need android adb / fastboot tools that officially can be found here (Windows / Linux / mAc) Important step BEFORE changing from Android initially!! If you want to ever be able to change the phone back to the state it had when you received it with stock Android, there is an important step that is needed before flashing any non android-based ROM, That is to backup the persist partition. If the device is unlocked and a recovery boot is present a fairly simple partition backup method (fo

  4. Yes it is two different issues. One is something gotten loose or worn, the last should be unlikely this soon. For the loose I too would check the screws as the first guess. Another is that the support-arm when closed are free, and thus can rattle a little if you shake the device, a tiny piece of ½-1mm thick self-adhesive rubber or felt can be placed in the 'groove' for it. to inhibit its movement.

  5. If you can manually focus for long distances (e.g. in Open Camera), which should be possible for you, as you seem to get a sharp image preview for a moment, then at least you are not hit by the bigger problem of not getting focus at all. Even though losing autofocus is also annoying, it is a different problem from what the original post is about. But as others described the same thing as you in here already, I guess it is now just a general thread for camera bugs in LineageOS ;)

  6. I am using my Pro 1 now for weeks with wireless charging and it works pretty fine. I use this Qi Receiver https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B075L6MXJX/ and it works with nearly every loading pad. Two quite fast ones are these two https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0851XWYXK/ and https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07N67395S. How much watt it loads I don´t know but it is okay. I guess after (2 to) 3 hours it is fully loaded. I also "tuned" it a little bit by removing one of the layers of plastic coating and use some other foil as protection. Also removed the silver housing of the usb-c plug.

  7. I would contend software optimization will matter more than outright processor power - at least for actual use scenarios. I hope that gap is filled. But we've hoped a lot since this started Also, @fxtec STOP giving time estimates. Just do periodic updates.

  8. Just a suggestion. If everyone who would love to have a new or used Pro1 posts here... well it could turn into a very long thread. 😄 I think the thread title is an unfortunate misnomer. It's a seller's market. So I think it would be more effective for people to post here when they have a Pro1 to sell and then buyers can talk about that one (or, better yet, PM the seller). Again, just a suggestion. If this thread becomes very long with buyer posts, a seller is unlikely to page back to find the first one who expressed interest.

  9. That's one perspective to view it, and it is completely justified. Another perspective that is just as valid is what @EskeRahn just hinted at. With the imponderables of a business like this and a company as small as Fxtec it is at least a small wonder that they still exist and not yet had to file for insolvency, in which case we as orderers and backers (while I have finally managed to get a used one, I'm still waiting on a Pro¹ I ordered 17 months ago and a Pro¹ X I ordered 4 months ago) might come away completely empty-handed, no phone, no money. Instead, they seem to be intent on doing

  10. That is an interesting perspective. People being conservative in taking in new technologies might find a real keyboard less unfamiliar than touch-typing as being more similar to the typewriter they know/knew.

  11. Been working in IT for decades, Masters and Bachelors in Information Technology Management. I would like to mention that of the 14 people I know who have bought the Pro1 on my recommendation, there are 8 who are NOT in IT and 3 who are rather scared of tech in general.

  12. It was a fake. After 3 imports that the guy at Fry's tried it started deleting the data. Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I ended up with a 512 legit SanDisk one instead; it was the largest one they had in the store.

  13. @flx is not totally wrong, actually. It is true that crowdfunding pools like IndieGogo provide a kind of smoke-screen protecting small companies from customer rights they would otherwise need to fulfil. That is indeed something that should be discussed politically. The question is: would small start-up companies be able to get a foothold without that kind of protection? After all, they try to compete in a market dominated by players with virtually unlimited funds. So, if crowdfunding in the present form were to be abolished, public interest would probably dictate to find other mechan

  14. Oh I did. And to the VAT thing. Yes of course. If you got money back from an invest and used that to buy a product these products would also have VAT on them. The difference is that you are not ALSO taxed on how much the value of the product exceeds the value of the investment. So in that aspect we are better of in crowdfunding than with other investments

  15. No, you all have to stop supporting this IGG bullshit. IGG can write whatever they want (like that we can cancel from them up to 2 weeks after the end of the campaign 🙄) it does not override EU laws. The only way for fxtec to not fulfill their side of the contract or refunding is to file for bankruptcy of the company. And with all of that we are all protected by EU consumer laws on remote orders. So even the 14 days return on reception applies if you don't like what you receive. On IGG we pay a precise amount of money in exchange of a service or product with a delivery date

  16. Have you also copied back the photos and compared against their original versions? ...or at least have you checked if these photos can be displayed at different positions of the card? (So copied first, copied in the middle, copied around the last, etc...) We are not joking, this is a serious problem of a lot of sellers. These cards report fake capacities (like 2 TB), behaves like if it would be true, but when you write data to the card which should go above the address of the last real data, it will overwrite existing data causing them to be lost. I have found a lot of fake cards

  17. I think people also need to bear in mind there is a global semiconductor shortage across all areas. Small companies unfortunately are just not priority and have to take the left overs.

  18. SoC downgrade is a major blow to that project. It also highlights how lucky we were to have the SD835 on Pro1, I mean that was the chip from the freaking Oculus Quest. From the perspective of a lucky owner of two Pro1s I hope they manage to keep the battery and screen assembly compatible as spare parts are one of the reasons I invested in Pro1x. The other reason I invested was to help FxTec develop their business so that they can bring us more keyboard phones in the future. That brings me to my next point. Looks like FxTec is using the IGG Pro1x cash to fulfill back orders from like

  20. Doubt Qualcomm knows or cares about any of this.....Fx likely deals with a redistributor. I mean Qualcomm is pretty much a monopoly. why would they care about a company that cant even fill a hour of production work? When the world is in a chip shortage. And if they really wanted to be Ethical ..they should start by combining the 600 series and 400 series, since they are clearly low end chips they are trying to upsell. I think you confuse qualcomm for a good guy 😛 When they are a coperate entity.....Even China has fined them for monopoly! CHINA!!! On a side note! Why did you no

  21. I just upgraded to FX Pro1 X Sapphire blue 😁 So I decided to wait another 8 months, but I think it will be worth in the end. By the way, today it´s 1 year since ordering, it was the February 10, 2020 😆

  22. Try turning on "Show taps" in the developer options (accessible from Settings/System after clicking the build number in About a few times). If it is static build up you should see random activations I think, if problem with the touch screen like some other (me included) hass experienced, it will probably only be along a few rows/columns of the screen.

  23. So what I'm seeing is, the device I purchased in February 2020, which I have never received, is now going to be a different device than I purchased. I love waiting on stuff that's going to be slow and outdated by the time I get it, just to find out it will be even slower than before and a year later.

  25. I really believe that this kind of discussion is fruitless. If we agree on the common goal of keeping keyboard phones alive, there is no choice but to back the (few) companies like Fxtec. However, there being no choice sadly does not mean there is a guarantee of success: not every transfer of money is a purchase whose object can be claimed. Think of it like this: If I donate money to WWF to help them save the Amur leopard, and then the cat goes extinct nonetheless, would I get refunded? No, of course, I wouldn't. And I still donate every year.
