Yup as a collectors item it will for sure have a higher value than the retail selling price you have put it up for, merely because of the serial number. So you should consider the auction before someone is actually bidding on it, making it harder to cancel...
-
Yeah, It could be a good idea, for those that wants that.

There is a thin line between scamming an conning.... Here we are talking conning people as you trick them to believe it is a good deal. BUT for some with a very strained economy, that perhaps would have had issues lending the money in say a bank, this way MIGHT be a reasonable soluton.

Well the Moto Mod was rather special as there never was a real first shipment. Just the prototypes distributed to a few. But sure it could be real, the serial number is what makes it look most fishy to me.... But Sure could be Adrian or Chen selling their own - but does that sound likely??
-
I doubt it, not even the "Final Sample" had a label with a serial number - nor a retail box with the same IMEI. (My retail unit has)
-
Personally I would never bid on nor buy from an ebay seller with a reputation of just 6 (!) - and even those are as buyer only, and many months old. Your are not even covered by their buyers protection. And the very low serial number 000002 must be a staff item, that seems very odd to go on sale so quickly, so it all has a suspicious smell to it....

....Took a strap from a camera and tested: Would be better with a longer thin string part, so the 'knot' could be outside, as the four times the string thickness at the 'knot' prevents a complete close
-
I think it would have been a first in history if a new phone was released error-free..... Even the big guys Samsung and the fruit company can't do that, and you expected F(x)tec as a small start-up could? Then your confidence in them were even higher than mine.....
-
Indeed, And If you accidentally rotate the strap you might unwind it unless it is tightened very hard. So not a solution I would dare depend on As the supports arms are made of metal, I would rather put a thin wire around that... (You see a silicon 'soft' shell for a Huawei P20 Pro on the "Final Sample")

(In all fairness: We can turn off the gesture stuff on the Priv)

I'm not sure on the 9000, but there is definitely a HAL in there.... ððĪŠ

I have had Open Camera installed since day one, so that is not the culprit. Could it be the display-connection, that messes up something? I haven't experimented with that. What Music Player did you use? ADD: I tried VLC, and now also "YouTube Music" and "Google Music". So I think WiDi is a likely candidate. Anyone else used WiDi?

No strap-holes,, sorry. I suggest to go for a case that got it, if it is a 'must'
-
Uh that sounds bad... Have you installed anything 'odd'? I have in half a year of usage only got one(!) spontaneous boot, months ago. (on pre-production unit) But if I run Cpu-Z it restarts, as it do with the above mentioned app accessing "Motion Accel". Have you installed (or activated?) something that should do something on say shake, that might use this sensor? As there must be some driver-bug here, if so that could be the same bug...

I have ordered but are still awaiting some flip cases for P20 Pro. You can find info on flip case for Note7 earlier in the thread. I just modified this with a few holes, to expose the notification-led and call speaker ..quite sloppy, sorry. Function over aesthetics...

I was very close a few times, but decided to stay pessimistic and await having the Moto Mod in my hands. I'm glad today that I was. I bet we IGG backers were among the only ones that wanted to buy a phone for a Mod, and not a Mod for a phone.... ð

I guess it is hard to make a connector that is strong enough to secure good contact at 20 pins, and yet light enough that a pull does not pull out the plug - or strain the pcb if pulled in another direction than straight out....
-
Thanks, was unaware, They are available out there though, e.g. this BUT this particular one is not really suited, as it with 10.4mm would go below the bottom of the Pro1, so you would have to have the Pro1 in a thick case, or to place it on something lifting the bottom about 3mm. (I know that the round simple charge magnetic plugs, does NOT work well without a case, as the USB-C plug is mounted fairly deep near the base)
-
If it is something you plan to attach/detach a lot. I would suggest to look at some of the male/female magnetic usb-adapters, not to stress the plug more than necessary. e.g. this. Yes I know the USB-plug is mounted on a separate small PCB, but it would be nice to avoid having it serviced for that.

...I lost count long ago, it is over twenty years ago... some only lasting half a year before being passed on to someone else. But the later devices has lasted much longer simply due to lack of really better alternatives than what I already had, available in Europe. ......, Nokia N97Mini + Samsung Wave in sunshine!, SonyEricsson (neo) Pro, Iphone 6- with various keyboard cases, BB Priv, Samsung S8- with click on Keyboard, Pro1

Thanks, yes. But I did not want to merge them as they are very old, and I guess people want some more recent stuff. I closed the old thread and added a pointer to this one ð
