  1. I'm quite sure that is the second batch, Strictly we do not even know if the second batch is large enough to cover all pre orders. See this from Erik some days ago https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2447-on-the-production-status/?do=findComment&comment=32973 but we are guessing again,
  2. No no, your advise is fine, It was just a hint to FxTec, if they do not, they will likely get mails from people asking.
  3. Yeah but if they sent out the info, they could save themselves a lot of support mails to handle...
  4. ...And you have likely already upset someone in a LGBTIQ+ segment trying to be political correct... 😜
  5. Guessing here, but I assume they will send out a similar mail on "stock assigned" for the second batch, when it has left the factory. So that should clear any doubt on second or third.
  6. I remember the Iphone 6-, it was close to impossible to hold without a case of better material, it was slippery as a piece of soap. When I got it and showed it to some friend, I always made sure they sat in a sofa, and they all (but one) dropped it while playing around with it the first time!! And we had a good laugh afterwards when I told that it was exactly why I was so keen on them sitting in the sofa when I showed it to them, as I did the same thing when I got it. *LOL*
  7. And you should make sure to never have the sleeve with the opening upwards in your pocket, or you will be left with a sleeve in the pocket, and the phone on the ground, as the friction between the pocket and the sleeve is likely to be bigger than between the sleeve and the phone.... Unless it is so tight that it is hard to get out of the sleeve - and that would be a daily nuisance... In my experience most drops is in/out of pocket OR when a kid or dog 'bumps' into you while using the device. A jumping playful dog that wants to get your attention can cause havoc....
  8. Sorry to mess it up, now it is 101 😜
  9. Oh yes, but I take it for granted that it is handled in a couple of years when we want to upgrade the Pro1
  10. ....Just cut away the credit-cards pocket of the flip case. Reduced the thickness to 2.5cm, and reduced the weight from about 65g to 60g
  11. You will have a hard time finding "plastic pieces"... 😜 Though of course there are plastic. I think the buttons and keys are plastic,
  12. The cost is not what is worrying me either (£20 would be 3% of the device price). But the added clumsiness is not welcome. I have considered cutting away the credit-card pockets. Just extra thickness, and I can not imagine I would ever use them for anything.... So they could (please) skip those for a dedicated case. The whole idea of a flip case is not appealing to me. The extra steps to get to the device are hardly worth it for me in the long run. BUT the flip case looks less repulsive mounted, than the shell on the lower part only. ADD Also the function is dubious to me. The risk o
  13. The changes that needs to be done are so small so any case maker could make a Pro1 case/shell, I see no special requirements, it is a matter of the volume they could sell if they would bother to do so, more than anything else. (Anyone could do the modifications similar to what I did to this £4(+2) flip case in less than an hour, unless they are REALLY clumbsy) I do not know what put a break on the dedicated Pro1 shell. Maybe they simply decided that they could not find a way where a shell would not make this slick and exclusive device look like cheap crap... They could fear that if t
  14. The holes are for the speaker, so similar holes could be made in the other end for the Pro1, if you want to talk with the case closed - could make good sense. Well on next gen a few years ahead i assume all devices will have under the screen fingerprint sensor, so that goes away by it self for a Pro2. It is not the placement that is the issue though, it is how big a hole you can cut without the base part loosing the grip on the phone. I just took a chance and opened it up - problem gone 😁, and no reduction in the grip. I doubt I could do the same on a soft shell, but on a stiff shell it
  15. I got the "Stock assigned" mail on nov 4. for the QWERTZ device I ordered with IGG coupon) Nov 15 13:24 CEST Got tracking code. UPS to Denmark 😎🥰 Nov 19. 13:15 CEST Delivered!
  16. Indeed, but the request i answered was for reviews, and though not on the released final product, they are there. And there are no reasons to expect that the released units are deteriorations over the prototypes. The "Final sample" I have been testing are in all but cosmetic details the same functionwise as the early prototypes - it 'just' got to be a more polished/finished product.
  17. Contradiction in terms here: aPple are all about design over function, a keyboard is about function over design. I mean who with their mind on function over design would make a system with one key and add functions for single short, single long, double short and triple short clicks, if they cared at all about an intuitive user interface? Users of aPple devices should be glad not to be required to Morse things in with their holy "one key is all that is needed" approach....
  18. There are a number of independent reviews already, including from TechRadar here, Though for obvious reasons not on the released units yet. There are quite a lot that can be found Googling https://www.google.com/search?q=fxtec+pro1+(preview%2C+review) Though technically mine is independent too, I'm so enthusiastic about the whole idea, that it can be said that I'm not completely impartial. 😇
  19. I doubt that theory very much. If it was the case it could have delayed the large batches, but hardly the first small one. ...That said, sure every extra order will help the whole project. And I expect people pouring in (relatively speaking) once the first units hit the streets, and we get some more independent feedback.
  20. The access to the fingerprint is clearly impaired, but not so much that it prevents the usage. But you definitely do not risk triggering it inadvertently... ADD: See comment below, I later modified the flip case with a wider opening, and the problem is gone And it completely destroys the aesthetics of the cool looking Pro1, by both hiding the sleek back, and having the bottom half thicker than the upper (this goes for flip and simple a like). So sure they could have done it, but I'm also sure a lot would have complained of the look and feel of the result... On the other hand if
  21. Yes, as I wrote here: Hole for the USB-C Hole for the fingerprint sensor Hole for the 3.5mm Jack Hole for the rear camera arrangement, Inner only Optional a bend of the top cardboard gives a better fit
  22. The 'leather' flip case is about 65g, the simplest clear cases about 20g
  23. I doubt it will work with other than their own devices. Similar to their clip-on keyboards.
  24. You beat me to it! (wrote about the same, but deleted it)
