  1. Ah of course, yes if they could promise deliveries in amble time before Christmas, it sure could give some extra sales . :)
  2. Indeed, but do we even know if they plan to attempt to channel them through traditional warehouses? It might be such a niche oriented product that it could be hard to get physical warehouses to want to stock them.
  3. You are just guessing... And as we have no clue on neither the number of pre-orders nor the daily production rate, nor when the production started, we obviously have no idea of the time frame to complete the pre-orders. But sure for new orders “Shipping globally is estimated to be early October 2019.” does not add up with other info.
  4. Oh you can get better than a render. Here an image from twitter The most substantial difference is that the qwertZ is NOT shifted, but standard.
  5. ....And the number of 'empty' tweets could also make a large portion just ignore it, and just patiently wait for the long awaited return of a real landscape keyboard slider to actually arrive at their doorstep...
  6. I have made this for the delivery and customs issues some are experiencing, so other can find hints on how to deal with the couriers. Will try to move things in here from various other threads, let me know if I overlooked moving something relevant.
  7. Thanks for the details. Just curious, is the first batch(es) a mixture of shifted QWERTY and unshifted QWERTZ, or should we expect the QWERTZ slightly after the QWERTY? Some of us are a little concerned about the whereabouts of the fulfilment centre and the date IF it ends with a hard Brexit on Oct 31.
  8. Yes, the balance point is almost exactly where the screen part meet the base when opened (see images here), so both ways are possible. I guess it will be a matter of thumb length. If your thumbs are long enough, it is quite comfy to support the phone on your middle fingers, place the index fingers on on the almost vertical support plate, and the corners of the phone in the centre of your palms.
  9. No, but the 'answer' would be the same. We are used to a specific layout, and thus we can use it without looking (much). I'm not claiming that staggered QWERTY is optimal, just that it can be used directly as we are used to it. I'm sure there are other print arrangements and other key arrangement that would be faster to use once learned, but none of them could be used with zero learning from day one. But you can type text immidiately on the Pro1 if you are used to a PC. Well that is for the QWERTZ you can. I'm not a fan of the shift of the letter part only of the QWERTY. And this requires
  10. You got a point there, and as the keys are curved, the keys of the neighbouring rows are lowest where the keys meet, reducing the risk further.
  11. Just curious, did you get any reaction to your offer?
  12. Well as you wrote: That is what we are used to. If you start arguing staggered is not ideal, you could also say that "QWERTY" isn't, it was developed to reduce the risk of entanglement of neighbouring arms, which have not been an issue for about half a century... So you could answer your question by answering why PC keyboards are (still) staggered QWERTY. There has been a HUGE number of attempts with other layouts, but the majority still use the old typewriter based one.
  13. We do not know where this "EU fulfilment warehouse" is located. But let us hope it is in say Ireland. Perhaps to the north...
  14. The link for the form is here: https://www.fxtec.com/request-qwertz/
  15. I still think it would be better with something along the lines suggested here A base case covering the lower part, and then a 'flap', that can be held behind the screen when open..
  16. Send a mail to support as quickly as possible to try to have them change the order.
  17. Indeed, IF that is openly available, and not something 'deep' in their take on Android.
  18. It does not require root, and I just tried it. The idea is good, but it does not work well, to put it kindly.
  19. I'm not sure how much is EU legislation and how much is country dependant, but in DK you are fairly secured to get your money back for a EU trade gone wrong paid with a credit card. I think it is some mutual insurance scheme between the banks that cover the losses - but do not know the finer details. IF you use some paying agency like PayPal, you are NOT secured by the banks though, but PayPal got their own buyer protection arrangements.
  20. You can select to reduce the software keyboard (to either side), yes, you can freely scale to between about 60 to 80%. But there is not a general setting reducing the active screen area.
  21. Here in Denmark we got negative or at best zero interests on money in the bank currently.... But that apart so what you are asking is not something binding but discounts or bonus items? I guess we would all like that.
  22. What would be binding" in that statement? What if it is not sent by this "day X" then?
  23. …and what do you EXACTLY mean by “Binding” then?
  24. Do you know ANY brand of phables that are open on their numbers? Just asking....
