  1. The link says " If your device isn't listed, it may be newly released "
  2. I got some (forcible cancelled) preorders 2 and 3 apart, So I'm pretty sure every number was used sequentially BUT if someone emptied their cart, the numbers were not reused. So all we know is that there are less than something like 40000 orders (the first many numbers most likely used for testing), And that the number of our order can give us an rough estimate on where we are in the queue, If we for simplicity assume numbers started around 4000, and is currently at 44000, then a number 14xxx will be roughly 25% in. (Yes I know we were about 1500 IGG backers, where a good part is lik
  3. I made a F.. up merging two threads, hopefully staff can clean up my mess..... (In the old forum Merge was "Merge into", in the new it is "Merge from"....)
  4. More that I would like to see what they can achieve, before I start tampering myself.
  5. I think I will wait a while, to have them make the first updates fixing the major of what ever bugs will occur when it is it used in the wild. Maybe experimenting with various images on the pre-production unit.
  6. Well I would not expect a startup to be aware of all the hiccups that can (and most likely will) occur. But I would expect that they adjusted their ETS (Estimated Time of Shipment) when they know it to not hold, and do so BEFORE the day of the previous ETS... Let me put it this way: If I should invite these guys home for dinner I would for sure not prepare a soufflé, but would wait to prepare the food to they had arrived.
  7. Why? Do you participate in any poll on any site you are using? I don't. 😉
  8. It would certainly make things easier for them. Or at the least some good drawings of the exterior.
  9. Let me get this straight, is the only information you get on this topic the public available ones?
  10. I meant something that went over the top and bottom, e.g. clear plastic strap, rubber band or elastic band. The Note 7 has fairly large top/bottom bezels. Many years ago, this was a common way to do flip-cases for pocket calculators and pocket multi-meters, so with a little luck it exists for the Note 7. Like the blue bands of this quick mockup
  11. For a laugh go to the "Shop". The "Hard Case" is still there as "Coming soon"... 🙄
  12. The bottom part has dimensions really close to a Samsung note 7 (153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm) so I think I will try to find a leather case for that, and see what I can modify... ADD Or "Note FE", same dimensions
  13. Tried with some thick paper (a ½mm thick booklet). And a case can actually grip over the entire ends, so this should be possible keeping the long edges free, so you can open the device by either pushing the front or lifting the back edge after your preferred operation mode. So I think a stiff bottom (e.g. leather) and 5mm black elastic bands on both sides of the keyboard would work.
  14. Actually it COULD grip over the two back corners, some 20x20mm, as long as it is not more than some ½mm thick, worst case it would make the device ever so slightly thicker closed. So that could be a way to do it...
  15. I split the part on magnetic cables into a new thread here
  16. Clearly better. Searching a bit on ebay I see others 8.9mm long, so they will protrude just enough to be 'grabbed' by the cable. But still none black. If someone find some that are black so please let me know...
  17. It stays in. And yes, there might be shorter plugs. This one has an 11mm plug, protrudes 4mm dettached, and there is 2mm between the edge of the cable-plug and the chassis when plugged, so (in theory) it could be 2mm less protruding with the same hold. I will see if I can find a more compact one / have not been able to find one where the protruding part is totally black. At best the plastic parts (like on this one) are black, not the most visible rim....
  18. The small adapter does protrude a bit. It is not much, but some might find it too hideous. There MIGHT be other brands protruding a bit less, and perhaps it can be found BLACK... Will see what ebay can offer... PS ...AVOID the round ones, as these will go below the bottom of the device...
  19. Nice idea. It is a magnesium allow (If I remember right) not iron though. So would require some iron plate/points to be adhesed to the Pro1, all adding to the thickness, but could be possible.
  20. Yeah it has become a mess, but not that easy to filter out, as much of it is related reactions to the delays (and now changed delivered product) I can not see a clear cut on how to divide it. We COULD ask Erik to make a new thread locked for comments with FxTec information only, and then keep this thread as a more discussion like thread with all the derived comments/reactions.
  21. I doubt it will work, There is very little 'edge' to grab in the keyboard half, and it is basically conical... But might work if the materiel (on the inside?) is the 'sticky' silicon used for placing phones on a car dashboard. The top half seems even more hard to do. But let us know if you find a way. I (and I assume many other in here) would be interested in buying that....
  22. I would swap the posh box, the announced sleeve and earphones for wrapping the phone in a T-shirt for shipping protection, and they could send it in a plastic bag...
  23. Ha ha. Well append at least a zero... But seriously I would not sell it without permission, though I have not signed anything, I feel like it have been entrusted to me to use and test. But once it is widely available, I could be willing to sell it if any collector has some special interest in having a rare early unit.
  24. ...Trust me, my heart skipped a few beats when I did... It was certainly not a willingly executed drop test
