If I order today, when will I approximately receive the device?
EskeRahn replied to divstar's topic in General Discussion
No function for that in the forum (*) ... Though we do got a delete function, but I have not killed any of this paranoid stuff, as I do understand the paranoia following the lack of staff activity. I do not understand why they prefer support directly, and to have this primarily a user-to-user forum. Especially before people got the devices, as it will be more questions than answers. (*) Though a thread is unfortunately no longer 'promoted' automatically by new activity, see e.g. this -
Just tried to insert two SIMs, and I can sms from one to the other, I can also call both numbers from a third line. So both SIMs are active simultaneously :)

FCC Approval - Manual and Photos Available

I have tried to google FHPV5036108P to no avail. Have you got any luck? The QR says "IIDL120152725", same as the lower line. -
Wishlist - Don't need a high end phone

As discussed in other threads, hopefully there will be enough market to more than one type of keyboard slider. Personally I would take a tilting slider over a straight one any day. I have had both, and much preferred the tilt of the N97mini over the straight Xperia (Neo) Pro. The N97mini had a horrible display that was useless in sunshine though. -
I think that combining the colours will not be easy., but the combined letters could be in same colour, perhaps with different stroke, like the original idea. [attachment file=14623]

If you do a search for termux in here, you will see that I already checked. And it seems to work just fine https://www.fxtec.com/forums/search/termux/

I think it is mainly a design issue, as it could easily look a mess with a lot of print on the keys, and also the print could become so small so not everyone can read it. Already it is not easy to see the difference between "," and "." and between ";" and ":"

APTX codec support over bluetooth in Pro 1
EskeRahn replied to Krzysieq's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
If I do the same check on a Samsung S8- also on Pie, it is NOT on the list, so they seem to check before presenting the list. ;) -
On the μ (03BC) or µ (00B5) I would say that though handy for us nerds, it is hardly worth a print. That is not to say that the functionality should not be there pressing the combination. And that goes for all 1,2,3 By 1 you break the 'rule' Erik put up, so I think you should add to the list one with the three to the left and bottom in white, and the upper right the symbols in yellow. I would say that is better than your one (But of course biased as a Dane) Something like this quick copy and paste: [attachment file=37262] YES I know these would be rather cramped and thus less than the ot

Yeah, love it too... On the keyboard in either direction. I got the click on keyboard for the Samsung S8-, and found though it is rather nice for writing longer messages, for the quick replies I just used the touch keyboard swype-style. I expect to do the same with the Pro1. Only use the keyboard when I need it, but not for the "OK C U" type of replies.

APTX codec support over bluetooth in Pro 1

Yup it is there, just checked. :) followed guide here https://www.headphonezone.in/blogs/the-indian-audiophile/how-to-activate-aptx-hd-on-your-smartphone-in-5-easy-steps Not only aptX, but aptX HD and the newer aptX Adaptive too (There is also aptX TWS+ audio) -
Also remember this interesting design-idea at idkul.com from 2010(!) that was never produced This would be even more interesting today with a folding screen... This could be made both the size of a tablet folded to something of size like the Pro1 OR a more compact device with a keyboard about the size of a Priv, that could be folded really compact.
-
Would be nice, but remember that the keyboard-lovers is only a dwindling group these days, so might be a very little market if competing with the BB portrait keyboards. The Priv was not a huge success, and some of us only bought it in lack of a slider in the right direction. I mean the market is so small that BBmob have not found it profitable enough to even make a Priv2, and have not really updated their Key½ recently. And both would be MUCH cheaper than starting a competing design from scratch... But sure if there is a market then PLEASE let us have different form factors for different pe

It is fairly easy to remap what we get pressing various combinations just like we want (well within reasonable limits). The important thing is to get the print right, as this is unlikely to be modified once set into production. Currently with FinQwerty he has made the clever solution of having Shift+Key give what you EXPECT as standard, but have Fn+Key give what is printed. Of course we want the print to be as close to the standard as possible, but when it covers multiple languages this is not always possible. e.g when I on current shifted QWERTY set to Danish press Fn+9 it gives "(" as is

I'm pretty sure the limit of two is an aesthetic one. The keys can return 'any' number of things combined with various modifiers. It works just fine currently with FinQwerty http://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/pro1.html When I look VERY closely at the keys it COULD look like the keys basically are white with black covering all but the 'print', and the green of caps, and yellow on others is accomplished by a film above the white, so this might make my idea of 'bastard' print hard to do, but the same could be done in pure white, with various print thickness as my original idea back in May.

A slight variant of an idea I posted half a year ago, this is not a new discussion in here... https://www.fxtec.com/forums/topic/alternative-layouts/page/9/#post-14622

Have a look here as well.... http://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/pro1.html

When only two colours are available I would suggest a layout that can be used in Sweden and Norway. Note that by sound and name Ä=Æ and Ö=Ø it is just the way it is written that is different. So this 'bastard' print I guess would be understandable by all parties [attachment file=37087] And then we as Danes has to accept EITHER to use Norwegian logical layout (ÆØ swapped) OR to use the correct Danish layout accepting the print to be swapped.
-
But I think you got the whole idea wrong. It is NOT to be used to enter Swedish/Danish/Norwegian simultaneously so we do NOT want the 'other' sets of ÆØ, ØÆ, ÄÖ accessibile via the yellow arrow. We want to select the language in the menu, and have the letters active as directly accessible letters like A-Z with no modifiers, so yellow arrow and the two keys could be used for other purposes.
-
You need the image in a better resolution, it is almost impossible to see the prints. But thumbs up for the initiative See the other threads on layouts also

Also a simple solution is to take INCREMENTAL backups to a pc, and this does NOT require any fancy software. I made a small tool that can be found with source here https://eskerahn.dk/?p=1668 It is based on Christopher Geers’ PortableDevices, with small improvements and enhancements to have it work with devices on newer Android.

Indeed, AND as this phone is not glued together, the risk of it getting stuck in there is less. And the opening at the edge is not extremely narrow, so less risk of it getting stuck, and hence it should be a viable solution. 128GB is more than enough for me. So I'm not going to attempt it though. Though IMHO I find it silly that they did not find a solution offering three slots (or a dual slot plus eSim) ADD: I saw another video (forgot the link) where a slight grove was cut in the plastic of the MicroSD card to let the chip of the SIM go a bit down, making the whole thing thinner, and thu

Let hope reality meets the theory here. :)

I feel much the same. I had a BB Priv, and though way better than a phablet without a keyboard, there is no compare to a real landscape slider keyboard. ;) But indeed variety is good, so if enough can be found interested, then why not?

I for one would certainly would love the option of having different battery-backs for different use cases. I loved that with my old Samsung s300 clamshell way back when Li-Ion was a new and exclusive option...
