You need the image in a better resolution, it is almost impossible to see the prints. But thumbs up for the initiative See the other threads on layouts also

Also a simple solution is to take INCREMENTAL backups to a pc, and this does NOT require any fancy software. I made a small tool that can be found with source here https://eskerahn.dk/?p=1668 It is based on Christopher Geers’ PortableDevices, with small improvements and enhancements to have it work with devices on newer Android.

Indeed, AND as this phone is not glued together, the risk of it getting stuck in there is less. And the opening at the edge is not extremely narrow, so less risk of it getting stuck, and hence it should be a viable solution. 128GB is more than enough for me. So I'm not going to attempt it though. Though IMHO I find it silly that they did not find a solution offering three slots (or a dual slot plus eSim) ADD: I saw another video (forgot the link) where a slight grove was cut in the plastic of the MicroSD card to let the chip of the SIM go a bit down, making the whole thing thinner, and thu

Let hope reality meets the theory here. :)

I feel much the same. I had a BB Priv, and though way better than a phablet without a keyboard, there is no compare to a real landscape slider keyboard. ;) But indeed variety is good, so if enough can be found interested, then why not?

I for one would certainly would love the option of having different battery-backs for different use cases. I loved that with my old Samsung s300 clamshell way back when Li-Ion was a new and exclusive option...
-
A fairly simple way to do this would be to have two versions of a case, one with a slot for a pen.
-
Even in case of the most optimistic scenario and the switch is simple, there would still be some testing to be sure things still works as expected. If I remember right on the Q, there should be some new stuff for better handling folded devices. This MIGHT also mean that this new stuff can also benefit the form shift when rotating and opening in landscape. So here most like something new work would be needed, to benefit fully from Q.

Yup, that bug is still there ;( -
Guessing here, If it is something seen on multiple installations by different people there just MIGHT be something that requires extreme care or unusual operations installing the displays, and the needed instructions might not follow the displays - and/or might not have been followed by those installing the displays. Even if the displays sold are 100% OK and genuine.

Uh, sounds bad...

I got a friend of mine that got fine fingers, that can do full typing on an early unit, yes. I have a strong suspicion that what I bought as a spare phone will be ripped off my hands, so I will have to buy another... Though she was not at all pleased by the shift, so I expect that she will be thrilled when I show her the unshifted qwertZ. She is a heavy user, using a lot of storage, and travelling between countries, so the hybrid slot was not to her liking either. But as this does not require the usual needle to open, nails will do, I hope she can accept swapping the SIM...

That you and I have no problems reaching in, does not mean that no one will. Different people, different physiognomy. e.g. I know a young woman a head lower than me, that can easily reach the entire screen of an even larger phablet than mine with her thumb, while keeping a grip. There is a HUGE variation in how we are 'build'.

Nice idea, but I do not think so.

The idea was a flap with qwerty on one side and num keyboard on the other. AND the flap could be removed completely.

The issues are still here, and in waiting of a new forum, I have gone so impatient that I made a small monitoring tool that browses through things, rather than having to do it manually... HOPEFULLY this will give faster response-times in the moderation (when I'm not too busy with other stuff) ...I know it is silly, but expected the moderation-mess to last for days or at the worst weeks, not months.... Had I known, I had made the tool back then... -
Exactly. It is rarely that a device get a second chance in the tech-blogs, so the thought of fixing stuff along the way, is a really dangerouos path, unless you already got a really strong brand with a good track record.

...Maybe they could make a clamshell that can bend over Yoga-style, so it can be used either as clamshell, closed protected, or opened all the way round as a slab.
-
Ha ha. Yeah, but why touch? Full retro, Symbian and 2G only - while it is still available... And full size SIM like the early Motorola StarTac. Funny that most carriers still send out their SIMs as FULL BTW ;). But on a more serious note, to me it sound like clamshells, fully protecting the one screen, and not at exorbitant prices as the newer Samsung W

I agree on the BB's. In my book they try to do both, and ends up doing neither... On one hand shrunken so the display is quite small by modern standards, and yet the keyboard is for two hands (for most people). The obvious compromise answer (in my book) is a Landscape slider that is for two handed operation when opened, and yet small enough to be one hand operated closed. As it is fairly easy to shift a device up and down in the hand with out losing the grip, it is primarily the short edge that is the issue. So shrink the width by 8-10% to the size of the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compac, Xperia 10

Well I do not see the harm, they are unlikely to care about the thread at this stage sure, but I find it pretty harmless to vent how each of us would have their ideal device (given current technological limits). As we all have different physiognomy and usage patterns, there will NEVER by a device that fits everyone. ANY device is a compromise between wishes, what is possible, and a combination of price and target group that is expected to make a profit. I see a the Pro1 as a great step away from all the slabs, that differ more by their logos than their functionality.... And it is an easy w

It is ever so slightly less than 6", 5.99" to be more precise. But remember when comparing sizes that it is more the width than the diagonal that matters. Many phones the last few years has elongated beyond 16:9. The Pro1 is 2:1 ( = 18:9 ) a 16:9 is 10% wider than a 18:9 of the same diagonal. Or said otherwise the Pro1 display has the same Width as a standard HD-type display of diagonal 5.45. (Think like Nokia 8 Sirocco or Samsung S7 Edge)

Nice to know as a last resort, or an occasional holiday. But would much prefer an integrated solution, as this is really exposed, but could work inside a case, perhaps after a little digging in the case.
