  1. It would be a good option as existing Pro1s could be converted to layouts which have not existed initially. ...but a proper manual and most importantly experienced hands are needed for doing the replacement.
  2. I think it worth a question for F(x)tec support to ask the possibilities and potential shipping times. I would even ask if they could offer the higher-spec version upgrade and the amount of money they would need for it (256 GB / 8 GB instead of 128 GB / 6 GB).
  3. No, anyone who has submitted here has received a link which has an additional perk of the 8/256 GB version for $639. It does also help for existing Pro1 orders anyway as the higher the community grows, the higher the chance of long-term support. Existing Pro1 users will also benefit as the hardware is the same where flash storage and RAM amount do not really matters. So they should definitively fix everything possible.
  4. There is a "secret perk" for XDA users.
  5. Basically the hardware should be the same, except two components have changed to their "higher" versions in the same package. I think they will ship all preorders before this new IGG offer, but as the Pro1-X also has a similar version what Pro1 had, it doesn't really matter if everyone will have their phones before March next year which was stated there (except the 10 units which ship this December).
  6. Basically I find black is far better than blue, so for me, really not the colour what matters...
  7. I have also ordered one for some reason. 🙂
  8. Yes, it is definitely a fake card, the old trick of dishonest sellers...
  9. It seems the SD card is write protected somehow. Either because it is faulty or simply a fake card. What was the price of it?
  10. I think you have received a fake or faulty card... As far as I read here, Pro1 should handle 1 TB cards, however, not all card readers are capable to handle such a high capacity, but I think a card reader which has USB3 connection should work. It is not uncommon sending fake cards (cards which has a declared capacity much higher than its real capacity) by sellers, especially when the price is low. However, it seems you can not write the card at all, even not in Pro1.
  11. Also e-mail delivery time may cause some problems comparable to this timeframe...
  12. My friend has started using "night mode" - if I write it correctly - using the lowest level of blue/orange balance. He feels its lower brightness value has started somewhat working.
  13. Unfortunately, we don't know the progress of delivery or what kind of contracts they have or what solutions they may try to find. So currently they are the only one who knows what is possible to achieve or what is not. I really hope if they can do "something special", that means they are in the finish line of delivering all of their existing pre-orders. Also our existing Pro1 may benefit of XDA collaboration if it means they can help in software development in any ways. Don't forget, basically F(x)tec is a hardware development company, so what they may really need is some help in so
  14. Anyway, the active speaker during handsfree mode is the one near main microphone while the other one is muted. My other phone had the opposite anyway. Generally it does not seem to be a good idea producing a "noise" next to the microphone which should have the "signal" input. So practically it should has been interchanged in software.
  15. I also feel it is a very good product. They chose components reasonably good and I feel it may work for a while. It may be called old tech it we want a technical comparison against flagship models and a bit lower-range models, but one may not use the full capability of a phone (even not the capability of Pro1) while it has other capability which is very good and unique. Also there are lower-range phones than Pro1 in every manner. It is an unfortunate situation. What I did around two years ago is I bought a Moto G6 for temporary use because my N900 started to leave its last
  16. In Hungary, it also started being not that uncommon to buy unlocked phones from service provider. When I have bought another phone while I was waiting for Pro1 (almost two years ago), I have ordered a phone from a local carrier and I chose a Moto G6 which had two SIM-card capability and stated to be not locked to provider (it would has been interesting for a two-SIM capable phone anyway). There were other phones which were unlocked - I am unsure but if I remember well, I heard they not really sell locked phones any longer in these days... In the past, phones were expensive and serv
  17. It is not really important - you may reformat the card later.
  18. I think it is better to let the phone do it. However, for testing, you may use any filesystems under Windows, but it is important to go through writing and also reading the whole SD card and check if everything were okay.
  19. I am using a 512 GB micro sd card in my Pro1. When you receive your card, I suggest you to test it before use with H2testw (Windows) or F3 (Linux) to ensure it works properly and it is not a fake card.
  20. It is still easier to buy a 3rd-party display and replace it by experienced repair personnel. It is a bit more complicated to change only the screen but it should be easy for experienced personnel. So if the display frame is in a relatively good condition, it may be a better (much faster) choice. The assembly can only be supplied by F(x)tec and the question is the availability. If I remember well, it costs around 150 GBP.
  21. I hope you will receive a reply soon but take attention of not sending them further e-mails as it would put you back to the end of the queue. What kind of crack you have? Is it a user error like dropping the phone? I think guarantee-related repairs are prioritized but it should not related to the response time of support. Anyway, if it is an issue not covered by warranty, it may be faster to order a replacement screen (only screen, not with assembly) from Aliexpress (made for Elephone U Pro) and bring it to a good repair shop for replacement...
  22. We don't know it, but the bottleneck seems to be at production in China while the base of F(x)tec is in the UK. So they may help in distributing the packages shipped from UK but not the production in China. Also we know nothing about the production / fulfillment rate, unfortunately. We will see what project they start and it may gain help from XDA software-wise. It can be also a hardware but could be simply a software developed for Pro1, so it may or may not affect current production at all. I don't think F(x)tec can not deliver anyway. However, if it is a hardware deve
  23. It may happen they will have stock later, also you may check dragonbox.de which may also have some stock units later (I think). Currently none of them has stock as it seems F(x)tec is still fulfilling pre-orders which I hope should be done soon.
  24. This can be one reason - and as they have just got Android 10 code it can be very likely. Also there are other components (like fingerprint sensor for example) which may need an appropriate version and also if the manufacturer can provide the needed blob, it should be also requested or get payed...
