  1. ...or at least adding a main FET for example which can be turned on by the switch button (or by charging) and can be kept on by software - if it is not how it is working now. Then it can be released when the system powers off and practically the battery can be "saved" for future use.
  2. You will need a charger which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge (QC3.0) like this one or this one. Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging is another solution which is not compatible with other phones.
  3. The material cost should be available for the head of F(x)tec but that is one thing. Another one is the demand which affects the final prince and also the management of producing and shipping phones having different kind of layouts and send them to appropriate recipients. If you can produce relatively low volume and you can sell all of them then it doesn't really worth financially of switching layouts as it may result in a loss of profit then.
  4. Just would like to mention they have mentioned improving the keyboard durability earlier. As far as I remember well, they have changed the way the keyboard is built in some point of time, so it may happen the pre-production unit may have a different version of the keyboard used later. Also they may have used older components in some of the pre-production units as some factors like long-term durability may not matter that case. Also there are components which has newer version but already assembled parts can be used in this way - like still not approved motherboard, motherboard with mi
  5. One keyboard layout (the very first one) is expensive. In mass production, it going to be cheaper (as the price of "first one" is divided), then a later order is much more cheaper than the first one if there is no modification. (At least this is how it works in Europe.) Practically there is a minimum quantity which worth manufacturing, let's say 100, 300 or 1000 depending on other calculations. I don't know, but let's say the first one costs 1000 USD and every further one costs 15 USD. (That is because several custom tools are needed for manufacturing and the same tools can be
  6. I hope they are finishing all of their preorders soon and keep working on Pro1 software, bringing Android 10, etc. ...but if they want to continue to do business (so long-term business), they have to think what they can do in the meantime. If there is some potential of selling other Pro1s and do a more polished software, then it is a good point for collaboration. ...and yes, they have to start thinking on Pro2 sooner or later which does not mean forgetting of Pro1 and also it is very unlikely to appear in the near future (unless they have started working on it since a while). So
  7. I don't know, we will know something more on 27th about it. That is a good question who pays to whom and also there is an IGG campaign mentioned which is a user pre-payment. XDA may have higher publicity and they may be able to provide help in Lineage OS / ubtouch development. However, F(x)tec has experience in hardware development and they also have a lot of reusable parts based on Pro1. So there are some potential outcomes, but a good collaboration may result in a good product, be it anything. 🙂
  8. I don't think it is about producing Pro1 devices. About a potential keyboard-less phone - it would go against their function is key slogan.
  9. Just a shy question: why would it need an Indiegogo campaign then? It should be something more complicated I think. Anyway, an "improved" keyboard - if there is only one layout - would be a non-sfifted QWERTY variant for me. For proper international use, that is a must. Currently the QWERTZ variant has the international ability but not everyone are German.
  10. I have a feeling it should have been there but you haven't noticed it before - or at least I hope so. The display what I have bought at Aliexpress had these problems from the beginning but I have noticed the big one only, then the smaller one later. It is an AMOLED problem anyway and it is not uncommon (look at this for example) and I think it is a manufacturing issue. The one which I have at one corner is huge, the other one is acceptable and also yours seems to be relatively good.
  11. Yes because that means they continue to support Pro1 regardless of what new product they will launch and that means they take their community seriously. Also, Pro1 is still a great product and if they support it for a long time, it can serve us very well for a while. Anyway, I hope if they launch a new product which accepts SIM card, then they will do a product which support two SIMs and a microSD card simultaneously. Also eSIM is an option but unfortunately not every service providers support it - as far as I read well, it isn't really supported here (maybe Telekom supports it but
  12. I don't know but it looks very similar to a Pro1 box and it also has Lineage OS and ubports (I mean Ubuntu Touch) logo printed on its sides. (They have Pro1 support as also Waxberry wrote above anyway.) I have hopes, but we will see it - we may have more information on 27th October I think. ...be it anything, I am looking forward for it. 🙂 Edit: oh well, and Indiegogo was also mentioned - I hope my hope will be true, but we will see it later this month. Edit2: So it is a collaboration with XDA which has ubports and Lineage OS support (these projects are also have suppor
  13. I didn't have such things with my original display, but I have a smaller one at one corner and a huge one at another corner on my replaced screen which I have bought at Aliexpress. Do you have this problem from the start or have they been appeared recently?
  14. Here is an article about it on XDA-Developers. Also an e-mail arrived from F(x)tec together with a subscribe button.
  15. @Waxberry thanks for sharing and I am curious about this new project. Please update also here if anyone have found any information / announcement with the details. Anyway, I love my Pro1 and I am looking forward also for your new project.
  16. I have tried to mention its position based on the image linked. So I was speaking based on the photo. 🙂
  17. Maybe I don't understand you well regarding what you press towards what part and when it works - I think debug option is also works for you only when you apply a pressure. Anyway, there is a small, cube-shaped magnet in the display part and the sensor is in the bottom part which is not moving. You may try to open the keyboard and test the function using a magnet - so the magnet above the display may also be in wrong position. You may find this magnet at top-left corner of the phone here (the silver one), so this gives the position where you may try the magnet at its bottom side. (s
  18. What will be the source of the displays you will sell? Will it be the same as F(x)tec source (directly from BOA if I write their name correctly) or another company or reseller? Will you sell these displays separately? If so, will you have a chance for testing these displays? What I have ordered at Aliexpress works perfectly but it has missing pixels at one of the corners (it bites out of the display at one of the corners a similar curve what the corners look like but in a mirrored shape). Could you write me an approximate selling price of it (if you have an idea of now)? D
  19. Sometimes these service providers have to fight against blacklisting and their IPs may appear in these lists time to time as they are service providers, so several emails are sent through them by their customers and it may cause problems even if the customer sends proper e-mails but the recipient does not know why... So unfortunately it is not a simple thing.
  20. It may happen their IP address (or some of their IP addresses) was appeared in a blacklist for some reason or there is a specific blocking set at recipient side (blocking a range of IP addresses or blocking by part of reverse DNS name), etc. Even Gmail may not always deliver all of these e-mails despite of correct settings (however, that case it may not appear in these logs). So it may happen an e-mail is not delivered even if one has a system correctly set up. It may also be handled as SPAM by recipient system.
  21. Be careful which package's content to eat and which content to setup. 😋🤓
  22. Yes, I read about it here and installed the application, I had no problems using it. However, it keeps in the notification bar list.
  23. You may try Light Manager for example.
  24. Stock is also acceptable but Lineage OS has more Pro1-related settings. I suggest you to test the phone using stock Android at first (so to see if every functions work correctly), then decide if you want to try / use LineageOS.
  25. In theory, F(x)tec has repaired fingerprint-related problems in latest update. @tdm told the fingerprint sensor has a closed-source driver (blob) and the root cause is the sensor and Android can get out of sync and under LineageOS, you can delete related part of persistent storage to get it work well. Under stock, it is not as easy as access of the system is restricted. Sorry if I didn't remember well. As of my case, currently I am facing the same problem using stock firmware and I think it worked for a while before factory reset (then it got out of sync). I have tried registering fin
