  1. I understand it, they may not have the new layout available at the time of shipment. However, otherwise I would not call them prototype as it is a proven hardware with only a minor modification on the case itself. So they are not prototype, except the keyboard is not unshifted which may be a problem for the user but not a problem hardware-wise.
  2. That is only a special "pre-Christmas" edition of 10 pieces. I really hope they will deliver all remaining Pro1 before shipping of Pro1-X which expected to be delivered this March. Edit: also it seems they still have the shifted QWERTY layout as every Pro1 and not the unshifted one which basically Pro1-X should have.
  3. I am also unsure and that is also a reason why I have not disassembled my phone again for testing - that is my daily driver... However, the dirt ("pocket dirt") seemed to be relatively high amount and I am also unsure which short end was it. However, the problem was closer to the bottom end and when I have pressed the lower left corner, ghost touches have disappeared or improved for me for a while. So I am also just guessing but as more people having the same issue, it would be more important to know the valid reason... I still think it is most likely a display issue, but if the
  4. When I have replaced my screen with one bought at Aliexpress, I have noticed some dust at one of the shorter sides. I think it may be in connection with the problem... or may not. However, that time official support did not seem to be interested... Anyway, if I will have a similar issue with my current display, I may try to replace it with my original one first...
  5. So that is the blue variant. 🙂 I hope it will serve you a long time.
  6. I don't think Pro1-X is a different revision (otherwise they would need to redo certifications anyway). The improved amount of RAM and Flash storage is simply a drop-in replacement of two components. Software-wise it is another question, but these hardware can be identified at their appropriate registers and it may or may not already included in the code (most likely it is). As Pro1-X also comes with two variations, so the same configuration as Pro1 and an improved Flash / RAM model, the software running on Pro1-X should handle both configurations. So, generally it does not seem
  7. I think the main problem is the closest speaker relative to the microphone is in use instead of the farthest speaker in handsfree mode... ...and also the volume of earpiece speaker in normal mode is too loud.
  8. I have just tested my Pro1 using a cable which I have bought for a Dell Latitude E6530 and it worked well, microphone and the whole headset has worked perfectly well. I don't have a jack connector around now, so I could not check the exact pinout correctly, but measuring without a jack connector plugged in, I still think it has CTIA standard. ...but I am 100% sure it uses the very same pinout as E6530. 🙂 Sorry for bumping this thread, but I thought it may be useful.
  9. Maybe there is a way of stating it is a repair and not a new order, I don't know if there is a special declaration in customs about this kind of shipment. The UK is currently problematic because of Brexit will take effect in 1st of January, even if they don't have agreement with EU and still they have no agreement but the end of the year is almost here. I don't know if they started to establish agreements with other countries (but I think so) for example with the USA but actual state of the Brexit process is not good at all as the worst-case scenario is getting very close being without
  10. I have a feeling they may want to investigate the problem deeper. I am sure a simple replacement of the screen will solve your problem, but they may want to change the screen assembly of your phone, then test the original display to see the potential source of the fault. However, if I remember well, you are in the USA, which may bring up some additional customs problem, however, their current state of Brexit may bring the same problems also for EU members...

USB debugging (for example using Wireshark) would be the best to tell what the real problem is.
  12. Basically the price... ...so a first come first serve order where earlier perks are cheaper. Also notice that there are two versions, one with 128GB / 6GB and the other with 256GB / 8GB flash / RAM pairs, so not only compare the prices but also this technical specs. Otherwise, they should be the same but you may find any differences under "Included Items" part.
  13. Interesting story, I am curious what you will notice in the coming days. Anyway, when I have replaced my screen bought at Aliexpress, the problem was disappeared without any modification in software. However, when I have opened the phone and separated the display of its frame, I have noticed at one of the top/bottom edges (I mean at sorter side), maybe near the place where ghost inputs became better after I touched it - I am unsure if it was the opposite side or the bottom what helped when I pressed it... ...so I have noticed some (relatively high amount of) pocket dirt-like dir
  14. Yes, it seems to be a huge difference... General support questions are much simpler to answer anyway.
  15. Right also for me - except the rattling on my "second" device -, all of the problems should be software-related... like the handsfree mode drives the wrong side of the speakers and I hope too loud speaker in normal mode also could be repaired in software (but it may be also a wrong gain issue at the amplifier which should be solved easily but in hardware like changing the resistor(s) which sets the gain), so in software, it should be possible I think but the background noise may be a bit high as a result. Also uncalibrated screen temperature (varying with screen brightness) could be also

Basically, motherboard is the same or at least that is what I think (otherwise they would have had to redo certifications). I have a daily driver in the 2X range which works perfectly and another one in the 2XX range which has rattling issue. The display assembly is slightly different anyway, but it was improved in later models. However, the former (which I write this message on) had ghost touch issues after around 8 months of use, so I have replaced its screen. Anyway, flash (UFS) issues may happen independently of the manufacturer... so it may happen but we didn't really hear a

Sometimes a specific USB port has another device(s) attached and that may cause problems, so a communication like this is not really likes interrupts of other devices attached. In my current machine, when I want to use my Saleae logic analyzer, I have to choose the "correct" USB port if I want to use its maximum sample speed. As far as I remember well, using two out of four USB ports, it has problems keeping the sample rate but it works well using other connectors. The same cause may also be a problem of flashing a Pro1. So again - in the computer, there are different USB HUBs a

Sometimes I write here using my Pro1 anyway. 😛 ...but I use my computer for daily work, so that is much simpler to look at here time to time using the same PC. 😇

However, I wrote that on a PC. 🙂

Exactly. 🤣 Sorry, it was late and I had no full attention. 🙂

I got the very same error under Windows when the flash was unreachable, but to be sure, you may need to debug USB communication. I have tried it under Linux, but it was clearly visible in Wireshark what happened. First flasher uploads a binary to the phone, then run it, then xml-like communication starts and that one is shelf-explanation.
  22. I have noticed it also in my Moto G6 after upgrading from stock Android 8 to 9 and if I remember well, it was in better place before. So it is not Pro1-related, it is Android 9-related. I don't have problems with voice quality unless using speakerphone. The basic but huge problem with speakerphone mode is the reversed speakers - one of them is muted and the other one produces sound, but they should have been interchanged as currently the one next to the microphone produces sound and the farther one is muted which is not correct. Once they modify it to work the other way, this proble
  23. I have also searched for a while before I have found it. I don't know if it was changed in Android 10 or later, but it is in a very strange place in Android 9.
  24. Open "Phone" application, click on the three vertical dots, then "Settings", "Phone Accounts" (or similar menu item, I use my native language in my phone), then on the specific SIM card, then "GSM call settings" (or maybe CDMA) - or similar -, then "Call divert" - or similar -, then "voice". You will find your carrier's settings there.
  25. Also, I assume they will try to solve it before Chinese New Year will start - so they have to manufacture these devices and ship it maybe to the UK in early February, then they have some time to ship it to customers. ...or at worse case, they have to continue manufacturing after Chinese New Year festival ends which may result in a shipment near end of March most likely from China.
