I was speaking about this audio recorder. Now I took a record and I have noticed it is also louder in the first few moments (maybe around a second) but gain / cutoff are not varying during recording and I can clearly hear background noises and also my colleague's question asking what I am doing about five-six metres and two monitors in-between while I was speaking something unmeaningful in quieter / louder volume. 🙂

I have also noticed this agressive noise filtering during video recording. I am unsure but maybe one of the applications worked well but the Snapdragon Camera which has good video record capability can't use microphone this way which makes video recording to be really inconvenient. Anyway, I have found a voice recording application which can record audio without this noise filtering effect, so it is definitively possible. Based on this, it would be good if it could be applied _only_ during phone conversations and not for regular audio recording at all. So I hope it can be solved

Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues
VaZso replied to michal@hanu.la's topic in Support
Not necessarily electrical. It can be a problem of some kind of glue I think. I mean a glue inside the screen module - not screen assembly but in the screen itself which you can buy from 3rd-party sources. ...and that can be an aging problem and both @Milly and me are started having the same issue after about eight months of usage and the difference of our phone's age seems to be only this about one month (time elapsed since manufacturing is about the same) which is the difference of appearing these ghost inputs for us. However, fortunately, it seems only a small number of phones -

Hmm, it is more than interesting. I still curious if cleaning will help but this problem seems to have similar root cause, be it anything... dust, physical damage or screen aging issue... The same type and position of this problem is suspicious, but it still can be caused by some factors. -

I think it is at similar position for me: https://youtu.be/BpIaO-91PGg -
Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues

Maybe my suspicion of some dust can go below or near the screen can also be the cause. I don't know if there is some glue between screen and its frame or how it is applied, but I think my first try will be a cleaning of the bottom/side part of the display and the internal edges of the frame. So if I can separate the display and its frame without breaking (I have a high chance but should be prepared for the opposite), clean and reapply (and there is no damage can be seen on the screen itself), then I think the original display will work again perfectly. I am curious anyway and it may -
Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues

This kind of ghosts inputs are "normal" if the charger is too noisy. I mean I have experienced similar behaviour using other phones and bad quality charger, so it is not uncommon. Also I don't think it is related. Maybe if we could reduce sensitivity of our touch panel by software, it may help to eliminate this problem anyway. I also don't necessarily have to touch the display itself for a normal touch input, so a minor dust which could go at the edges of the screen may also can be the cause of this ghost effect. It may worth a try not to replace the whole display but clean -

I have also experienced this kind of ghost inputs a few weeks ago. I don't know what happened, but the screen looks to be intact. However, I have found a minor insure on display frame which I don't know if it is related, but I think so. I can barely see it anyway and there are no any more issues on the frame and my phone is in a protective case (on back), also having protection foil applied on the back and on the screen. However, I can feel it with my nails a bit. So I don't know the reason but I assume the screen has been damaged for me but in a part which can not be seen a -
Buy screen protectors made for Elephone U Pro, those will work.

I have the same issue on stock using GCam Mod for example, so definitively there is something similar happening regarding this also under stock.

I use an app called "Shake Light" because I missed this function I used with my Moto G6 phone. Usually I press power button then shake the device because it is more reliable this way (it may not work when the phone is in deep(er) sleep mode). I like it anyway. 🙂

Selling my Pro1 (from Czech republic) SOLD
VaZso replied to josefkubes's topic in General Discussion
Yes, and also it works pretty well using GCam mods. So, for me it is perfectly good and I feel it has high quality and also good focus can be acheieved. Edit: I also agree this price was extremely good for this phone. 🙂 -
You are right at some points but MTP is very slow and limited for me. So if they do something, it would be better if they would do it in a right way...

I would order from you if postage fee is not extremely high for Hungary. I had a screen protector applied which was made for Elephone U Pro which worked for a while, however, its size is not absolutely perfect. I have cut another screen protector bought at BastScreensEver which I think would be one of the best materials, but I used the other one as template which is a bit taller than necessary and the edges finally lifted up a bit. However, I have also cut a protector from the same material and applied it to Pro1's back and sides. So I would be happy if a similar protector would

Fingerprint lost on reboot is an existing problem also for me, I don't think it is a hardware issue but a software (firmware / blob) issue instead. The screen problem is really a problem... maybe it is a loose connection of a cable, but it is a very unfortunate situation. 😞

I remember probably this photo was the first what I saw about the new Pro1 when it was still under development. I really liked it, however, I also think black looks even better. However, once I saw a modified photo of Pro1 which was deep red. It also looked to be impressive anyway. (I don't really like the idea of a red phone bat that colour was really good, so it is not simple red - I don't know where I saw it.)

A big +1 from me. If they decide to support only one layout, please support one non-shifted QWERTY instead. That would make easier to support international layouts while it remains easy for everybody (no need to learn) and also should be available in the whole world including the USA.
-
Yes, I was sitting in the front right (in EU) seat, not in driver position. 🙂
-
I hope it is not the case. I understand there is a higher cost associated with more layouts available, but I have a QWERTZ unit and I am very happy with it. I would be more happier if they had a non-shifted QWERTY instead, but the shifted QWERTY is a worse option for me. I mean I would buy it if the shifted QWERTY would be the only option, but I feel the non-shifted QWERTY-like variant is a much better option when you think about international layouts and I also think it is more convenient for general usage because it does not differ from casual keyboards, so no need for the brain

I only had similar problems (on stock) when I had an application installed which monitors some key combinations. I felt the keystrokes are lagging, I had missing characters and so on. After uninstalling it, all of my problems with keyboard are gone. So try to look if you have similar application(s) installed.

Have you tried another charger and another cable? ...or maybe plugging Type-C connector in the other direction for testing purposes...
-
I don't see any problems with my display at all.
-
What program do you use for testing?

Pinephone is going to be an interesting piece of hardware / software solution especially if they can find a proper solution for an attached keyboard, but it is not comparable to Pro1. Pro1 has a much better hardware in every aspects, higher display resolution, much better CPU, much higher RAM, much better cameras, two SIM slots, etc - and even an own keyboard. On the other hand, Pinephone is cheap and interesting, but its internals are also much simpler and it is still a work in progress. I have both anyway. Also, I follow both projects as these are special parts of the world
