I tested the Pro1 with various screen mirroring and casting situations today. With a Vizio TV that is Chromecast enabled (Chromecast built in, not a separate dongle), the phone would often spontaneously reboot. I believe it was mostly when screen mirroring (using the system level cast function) and then switching to app level google casting, or the reverse, starting with google casting and switching to screen level mirroring. However, I need to do more testing to nail down the specifics. I will report back with my findings. This was not a rare occurrence. It happened several times d

I believe the LEDs weren't working for me before, but they appear to be working, for the most part, now. I did do the LED tests from the secret screen, but I can't say if they started working after that or before. I am pretty sure they were working before then. Here is what I can say, based on my testing. I am not saying the results are right or wrong, just reporting how things act and how I have thing set up. - In each app tested, I have "Blink light" turned on in the notification settings of the apps. The "Phone" app doesn't have this setting in its settings. - At the syst

This is a very good point. I had this very situation with my Relay 4G phone. Although I did it because I was constantly running out of space on the internal storage, when I used link2sd to move a lot of my apps over to the SD card, I also got a performance boost when launching apps. The reason was that the external SD card was faster than the internal storage (when tested with apps in the phone). I thought for sure that the interface to the card or the card itself would end up being slower, but that wasn't the case. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was about the same speed for wri

You cut off the first part of my sentence in what you quoted "In a phone that has plenty of internal storage for apps,". I was saying that I don't know if it serves much purpose for the Pro1 and other modern phones, because they *do* have a lot of internal storage, unlike older phones did.

Probably EdXposed, if I remember correctly from what I read online. There are workarounds that I'll look up when I get to that point. I think Netflix may not work without safetynet. I can't remember what gave me a bad feeling about oandbackup. I might try it if swift backup doesn't work well. Or does oandbackup not do app data? TB used to have the option to save the old Android ID and apply it in the new phone. They removed that option. It looks like swift backup has the option too. So XPrivacyLua can feed apps a different Android ID? Does it do that per app or for all apps

Can you send a screenshot of the error?

Should work fine with chromecast. I have some devices I can test on if you would like. Any app that supports casting should work fine. The phone tells the device where to get the content and the device connects to that url directly. In other words, the data doesn't flow through the phone to the device. The phone is then used like a remote control. Unlike mirroring, you can use other apps while the video is playing on the device/TV. I have never done a wifi direct connection like netman, except that is required at first, to set up chromecast. You use the Google home app to set up th

I agree, but if the USB port is as modular as they said, that should be easy to replace. Do we know where to source that yet, anyone?

I like the air bumpers in the corners.

That is what I said in the part you quoted. I was speaking of setting it up to be used with internal storage in one big pool. It is called adoptable storage. You don't have control anymore. It will look just like internal storage, I believe. You can tell the OS to move apps between true internal and adopted external, but only if the app has been set up to allow it. Now, if you are rooted, there might be some low level ways for rooted apps to look at it differently. It will run things slower than true internal storage too. In a phone that has plenty of internal stor

I know this is an AT&T topic, but I contacted t-mobile on facebook (t-force) and will report back with my findings, as it pertains to getting it provisioned for wi-fi calling. UPDATE: I now have wifi calling working on T-mobile with the Pro1. As I said I would do above, I contacted them on facebook (that is supposed to be the place to get the best results). They call that group T-Force on there. I sent them a message stating that I'd like to get my new phone provisioned for wifi calling. They said I needed to have an E911 address set up in my account online, for this line. I wen

Ebay VS buying direct: Is this for real?
david replied to everlast4308's topic in General Discussion
Yep, they were made by BoxWave and they called them the Keyboard Buddy. -
If you are rooting with Magisk, the first time an app requests superuser access, a dialog will pop up: It defaults to "Forever", but you can tap on that and only have it be active until the app is shut down (Once), or you can limit it based on those time limits in the dropdown list. If you set it to Forever and want to change that later, you can go into Magisk Manager and remove the app. The next time you run the app and it wants superuser access, it will pop-up the dialog again. If you want it to ask you ever time you launch the app, then you can pick Once.

Umm...did you forget the most important thing? It has HK on it! :-)

Ebay VS buying direct: Is this for real?

It looks like he even put glue on the sides to prepare for 2 more iphones, so he could have 3 devices in one! :-) -
Seems like this is on topic for this thread. Does anyone know where to get spare batteries yet? If the battery was to blame for not charging (probably not as likely as a poor USB port connection), then a replacement could be put in place. Either way, I'd definitely like to find where these are sold and stock up on some for the next 10 (hopefully) years of phone use!

I found others reporting this same thing online for other phones. It looks like it is just an android bug in how it reports it. It seems to do it with some brands of SD cards, but not others. It only happens when you use it as adoptable (shared with internal) storage. So it seems like nothing to be overly concerned about. You'll just have to mentally subtract half the space when you look at that screen. Apparently other storage tool apps will show it properly, so you could try one of those.

Always have to ask. :-) But I understand the frustration too. Have you tried enabling the mode where it can charge when off and then powering it off and plugging it in?

Sorry, I was replying to him, not you. The website was just acting weird, and it wouldn't let me delete that quote block! LOL So @br0die, do you see the SD card in phone settings->storage? If not, then the apps won't be able to access it. If you don't see it there, you can try rebooting the phone and you can try taking it out and putting it back in. You can also try it in a PC. As mentioned, exFAT will not work in the Pro1. It will need to be FAT32, if you want to use it as external storage in the Pro1. If you want to use it as combined with internal storage, then the Pro1

I looked at this on my Pro1, on t-mobile today. If I turn on the option there and then go into airplane mode, but re-enable wifi, it wouldn't let me place a call. That doesn't mean that it isn't just shortsightedness by the phone app programmers. It could still be making a wifi call, but I don't really have an easy way too prove it. I can possibly look at my lan network traffic sometime while testing it. There is a chance it isn't really doing wifi calling, however.

What make/model? What was it formatted with? Have you tried to write over 250 GB to it to see if you were sent the wrong one (and really have a 500 GB card)? Is it set as external storage, or shared with internal storage in the phone?
-
Did you try other chargers? Try rebooting? Sorry, those are the only ideas, of the top of my head.
-
Do you still pass SafetyNet with XPrivacyLua running in your Pro1?

Oh, so it could even be that the module that was causing it to not boot was just randomly working sometimes and it wasn't related to flashing the patched image at all? It seems like, as long as it is an EdXposed module and not a Magisk module, your number 1 should always work. If it is a Magisk module (whether the EdXposed framework or some other Magisk module), your number 2 can be tried, but may or may not work. And if it doesn't work, then preparing or using a pre-prepared Magisk core-only patched image is guaranteed as a way to get out of it without clearing /data. Having said

Not showing internal storage is odd. Glad it is working though. You can try PTP mode to see if it shows internal.
