@Keyahnig @Bloodhoundje Any updates on 3D printed/molded cases?

So SFOS doesn't work on non-cellular devices? Or is that just a limitation in his particular build at this point in time?

To be honest, I only have 2 windows 10 machines that are in the house and I rarely use them. Oh, and my parent's machine is windows 10. And when I have to use any of them, it is very frustrating and takes much longer to get things done. The reason I'm using them, usually, is to fix something, hence needing to go through settings screens. I'll have to use one of the laptops here for a guinea pig to see if I can make it usable, before I upgrade my main machines.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. "flat hell" is a good way to put it! LOL We wouldn't want to use tabs. That would be a horrible way to neatly organize things. It is better to have a bunch of scrolling screens and drilldowns. /s

I bet @EskeRahn will be along shortly to whisk it away to another topic. :-)

It looks like Open Shell handles the Start Menu mess, but is there anything that will handle all the settings screens that they messed up, like networking? And Windows Explorer? Okay, I just googled around and found the following that might help. I don't have time to mess with it now, but will come back to it later: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-make-windows-10-look-like-windows-7/ https://blog.usro.net/how-to-start-the-windows-classic-control-panel-in-windows-10/ It doesn't look like those will take care of the settings screens issue and getting to the s

Has anyone managed to get XPrivacyLua running on the Pro1, under Magisk, with EdXposed? I tried yesterday and got in a non-boot state and ended up doing a Factory Reset. I will probably try again, but if someone has succeeded and has the steps, that would be great.

If someone hasn't updated Windows 7 in 11 years, they would be a bit outdated. Lol -

I haven't encountered that problem before. I too would have assumed it was in a windows update a long time ago, since that is dated in 2009. But that is when reading cards directly. The problem with the phone not being seen properly in windows 7, through USB, seems to be more of an interaction with the phone USB drivers of windows and the phone firmware. What does OBE stand for? -
Oh, why couldn't I have found this yesterday?? Lol I ended up doing a factory restore to get rid of the EdXposed modules that wouldn't let me boot. Thanks for posting this.

Yes, I don't think PD will fall back to others. The latest QC will fall back to PD though, I believe. But we are stuck with QC 3, so no PD support.

Side topic, but do you have any apps you like that make Win10 more like Windows 7? I have 2 machines I am dreading upgrading. They really messed up how you access the settings, in addition to the tiles issue. Although that is much better in win10 than win8.

Titanium Backup does not work well for some newer apps, in my experiences. I have a list of about half a dozen it failed restoring yesterday for me. I will be looking at another backup solution too, so will be interested in what you come up with. Some apps to test: - Latest version of Textra. It should restore all the sms and mms messages too. - SwiftKey - Quickstep launcher Features: - I use Google for the android settings, but if you find a good app that does those too, that would be good to know. - Being able to schedule backups and do them to the SD c

Samsung's fast charging technology is different than qualcomm's quick charge. I would have expected it to still charge, just not as fast. I have a number of chargers here I can test and report back.

My guess is that it was formatted for exFAT in the S7. exFAT doesn't work in the Pro1. If that is the case, you'll have to copy off any data you want to save, and then let the Pro1 format it as FAT32 and then copy the data back (if you want the data in the Pro1). If you need to put it back in the S7, it should still work after the Pro1 formats it. The only limitation would be if you have files larger than 4GB on it now. FAT32, what the Pro1 will format it as, has a file limit of 4GB. Congratulations on the new phone. It is interesting that you just got it now.

Provided it is a genuine card, you should be fine. Cards larger than 32 GB come preformatted as exFAT, and can handle file sizes greater than 4 GB. But you can reformat them for FAT32. You just lose the ability to have files larger than 4 GB. Now, as a separate issue, whether you can easily access the card through the phone, when the phone is plugged into a Windows 7 machine... I can't on my Windows 7 machine. If I enable USB debugging, I can get the internal storage to show up under PTP, but I don't see internal nor external storage when I pick "File transfers" (MTP) mode. I do see -
I came from a Relay 4G (running Cyanogenmod 11 = KitKat) to the Pro1 as well. I just rooted my phone this weekend and switched over fully, activating a new sim in too, etc. I am thinking I did have to run something on there to deal with old SSL root certificate issues too, now that you mention it, but I don't remember the details of that. I'm not trying to dissuade you from using LineageOS, but just replying regarding the features you listed. - Root works with Magisk - Android 9 has app level permissions built in, so it functions like privacy guard in that way. If you want to

I think he gets a new one sent to him every 2 weeks. 🙂 -
Oh, and it took me a while to find the options to make the predicted text tiny (since I will rarely use it, except to teach it new words for auto cap), and to hide the icon bar. Also, I could have sworn that it appeared above the typing line at first, but I somehow got it to appear under, where I want it. Much better, for me, than the way it was. I try to minimize virtual keyboard use at all costs (to save what sanity I have left), and do not use swype on virtual keyboards when I very rarely use them, so this is a good solution for me. I will try the alpha option when fxtec changes th

That sounds nice. Sticky would be nice too. Will it learn words? With SwiftKey, I can teach it to capitalize certain words. Thanks for explaining. I was wondering why a keyboard phone would ship without some of these features being there by default.
-
Perfect! It took some time to configure it the way I want, but it solved for almost everything. It took me a while to get "i" to auto cap. I had to enable autocorrect by tapping on that icon. It can be a bit odd about learning some shorthand capitalization I use with a friend, but I seem to be able to get it to work eventually, if I keep trying. The only 3 things it doesn't have for the physical keyboard settings are: - No double space to insert a period. That setting is only in the generic settings, not in the physical keyboard settings. - When you type punctuation, it inserts
-
Do either of these provide a way to auto capitalize when typing? I am not clear on what controls things like that. It is one of the main things I am having a hard time adjusting to on the Pro1 vs my old phone.

How did you get into the bootloader? What do you get if you run "fastboot devices"? -
So if you uninstall FinQWERTY, do the layout options disappear from the Android UI?

Mine wasn't recognized until I rebooted.
