Yes , there :). The first time I looked it had no change link with the Display Name section but now it does.

The option to change it suddenly appeared, and I am once again myself :). If anyone cares, click username top right -> Account settings -> Display Name -> Change.

I would really like to change my display name on the forum back to what it was before the migration, so that people can recognize me. This accounts name was chosen for me by the website as it was long ago, and I seem unable to change it. Is this possible?

vim, latex and most linux commandline things you could want can be used in termux under android, even browser and emulators if you install a VNC or X11 server app but those will hog the battery quite a bit and the X11 servers i tried so far aren't great (VNC with Xvnc server seems to be the better way). If maemo or ubuntu phone end up getting ported to the Pro1 one of those would probably suit your needs, maybe sailfish does too though.

I did use OBS studio for recording screen while discord was open at one point and it automagically noticed and went into silence the notifications mode, so it does monitor what runs. Also it has insane defaults like allowing everyone to /tts, so i would not be surprised if it defaulted for other things to some mad settings.

Kiwi browser allows you to put the address bar and nav buttons stuff at the bottom (gotta tell it to in settings), which makes it a whole lot nicer to use with one hand.

You cannot know if they tell the whole truth though. If privacy is a serious concern one could run it sandboxed and through a VPN or TOR and avoid the need for blind trust. The windows program does check what other programs are running (to do fancy features like silence notifications when screen recording software runs to make ppl who stream games happy) which is a scary proposition to some, the web-chat is probably not nearly as bad. On the other hand the main issue told on that page is that messages are kept on the server centrally etc... This all is so for the forum, and any forum, too.

The pro1 has good support behind the screen, as can be seen from the teardown pics http://matland.be/fxqa/img/teardown.jpg so that would definitely help evenly distribute forces and have no stuff pressing it sharply from the back. For example in the nokia 5 where I clumsily destroyed a screen (and had another one arrive DOA with such lines actually) there was nothing there and the IC on the ribbon of the screen itself did not have enough clearance and pressed the screen to death, in the Pro1 there's not that possibility as the ribbon goes in a separate compartment instead of being tucked under

I've meanwhile checked some of the aliexpress listings and it's basically here and there someone who has lines like that, sometimes right off the bat also not necessarily taking months to develop (it does seem concerningly common and not everyone may be complaining publicly). Improper handling and packaging could also be a cause, and being that it is aliexpress anything is possible: they could be rejects from the factory, fell off a truck, be cleaned up displays pulled from old phones, etc...

edit: Did not read properly, if this happens on (nearly) all the screens those sellers ship something must be wrong tho.

This could be a case of improperly installing the screen, i have made the mistake where something was in the phone pressing onto the panel of the screen from the back resulting in a very similar failure mode (with a nokia 5 in that case).

Nope, you're not at all alone and we all gather here in preparation of the glorious future. There's even a few people here for who Pro1 will be there first hardware keyboard phone and that makes me quite happy :).

+1 I am so happy finally someone is working on a phone I can actually get excited about, and it'll be soon enough in our hands :). It's gonna be the best phone to have existed yet.
