The really shouldn't have needed to change android it should just be a new launcher swapped for the stock version. I recollect something about messaging/email as well maybe @EskeRahn could confirm that.

If you are security minded you won't use OTA and only use images that you make your self so you know what is compiled in. But FXTEC are making a consumer device and need to provide standard services that all other providers give and OTA updates is EXPECTED. When you get it wipe it simple!

Emergency alerts are built into the OS so should be present.

Got me wondering I've been using the Microsoft launcher recently (blackberry launcher kept hanging after update). What is that like in landscape mode? Also the long key press shortcut is part of launcher so it would need that functionality. Well I lost that support on my keyone when I switched launcher.

If you want the certification then hassle google 😉

Only things I'd like to be able to launch are java apps mainly but they are just normal apps.

I guess last resort a simple app could be created to do this 😄

I don't trust paypal for purchases this large I would rather use a credit card where I know I am safe.

I guess you should be able to map a shortcut key to the launcher itself but telling it to go to the app list not sure :S
