Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery
MonCon replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I reckon there's 720 on that pallet, any other guesses. p.s. Not implying that's the only pallet, just curious how many Prawns you can fit on a pallet :) -
@guss don't think LineageOS affects your persist partition, and you only need to back it up if you are going away from an Android based OS, such as Sailfish or Ubuntu Touch, and intend to return to Android one day. There is some guidance and associated links for backup in the 'Various ROMs available' thread, but I've never used them, so I can't comment on how easy or effective the methods are. Just out of curiosity, why are you leaving LineageOS?

Communication could be better for sure, this seems to be a common theme in crowdfunding, but I thought the final hurdle to the PrawnX was the logistics company holding our phones to ransom in their warehouse while they try to extort some more money from Fx for shipping, and I'm not surprised Fx are trying to maintain a positive spin on the company while they try to attract more investors to diversify their portfolio and create some new revenue streams. -
There's a good thread or two on here about ACCA, offline charging and battery health, I'll find it and post a link. Here it is:
-
I've used ACCA in the past, both as a high temp protection and a low level shutdown, and you're right about it needing root, and it may be wise to enable offline charging if you go down this route. I'm currently running unrooted LineageOS (such a nice OS, thank you Devs) and use Easer https://f-droid.org/en/packages/ryey.easer/ as my safeguard, to generate progressively louder alarms as the battery level decreases.
-
I seem to keep doing this recently, missing the boat after the question has been answered. Maybe I need to stop multitasking when I should be working.

For starters

I'm pretty sure lithium-ion batteries are generally stored and shipped with a reasonable level of charge, as they can be problematic to recover when they go flat.

For what it's worth, in my car I regularly use bluetooth to connect to a little bluetooth to FM convertor: https://www.jaycar.co.nz/digitech-fm-transmitter-with-bluetooth-technology-and-usb/p/AR3140 Never had your issue, just checked in Developer Options, HD audio is disabled, but I'm not connected right now. I'll have a play with the settings next time I'm out and about and connected and report back any issues. I'm on LineageOS 20-20230803-NIGHTLY, but haven't seen an issue on this or previous versions. Edit: Just seen your last post which you must have put up while I

Grasping at straws here, but have you tried with different cables, on different USB ports? I think USB 2 works better than USB 3 for some people as well. If you've already had connection then this probably won't help but it won't hurt to try. I'm not sure what you mean by the Librem 5 reference, typo? I'm sure someone more clued up on these things will be along in a bit to help sort you out. The only other thing I could suggest would be a trip to https://forums.ubports.com/ for advice.
-
Could it be a charging problem? Charging circuitry fault, USB port fault, faulty cable?
-
I'm pretty sure my PrawnX was built in China, and the build quality is excellent. Still, judging by the number of comments (1000+) in this thread: I think we're all keen to look after our devices.

LineageOS 20.0 Official Release for Pro1
MonCon replied to CornholioGSM's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
If I were you I'd take the same approach as you. A data backup and fresh install should be quick and free, it sounds like you have got nothing to lose (but your data) if your Prawn is practically unusable at the moment. If this doesn't help I guess a new battery is the next step, either fitted yourself or return your Prawn to FxTec. I think FxTec still have some batteries for the Prawn, there has been some recent discussion between Prawnsters on the forum on this subject. https://community.fxtec.com/topic/3326-pro¹-x-–-state-of-production-and-delivery/page/43/?tab=comments# -

I see the same, lots of blanks in the 'interesting' looking columns, not that I really know what I'm looking at. I've tried changing a few settings, VPN on, VPN off, WiFi on, WiFi off, but still no data in the CDMA, GSM, LTE columns beyond signal strength. Neither of us is rooted, I wonder if that makes a difference. Happy to submit my logs to someone who understands them, but I don't see any useful 'band' information in there. The serial number is on a sticker that was on the back of the PrawnX when I took it out of the box. My serial number is 'S/N: fxtec007110'. -

I've installed 'Network Monitor' from 'FDroid', I'll see what the logs look like later and look into LTE Discovery if need be. Serial No. might be good as well if we have a bad batch. Also maybe stating what your 'Preferred network type' selection is in settings. -
I can't replicate this problem at my end, and all I could suggest as a start is trying a few different sets of headphones or earphones to see if you get different results, and also to check if you consistently get the little headphone symbol in the status bar when you plug in.

About seven months now as my daily driver, straight out of the box the day it arrived. I must be in the lucky 10% to 90%. The hardware is nice and solid, the screen is nice, the keyboard is very nice, it doesn't struggle with any tasks I throw at it, I really like the blue colour. At least in my experience the PrawnX performs very well. I fully get your point. Lots of business models can be based on a subscription model, why not, it's an ongoing relationship. Maybe a donate button on their website. To me they're as good a cause as any other good cause, (or charity :)). I'd see -

@Hook@EskeRahn thanks for the pointers, I'll give it a go Edit: Connected to pc via adb, ran: adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver.module adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.cellbroadcastservice adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver and the obnoxious mosquito has gone. Didn't need root, still good after a reboot and an update. Hopefully that's the end of it.

Thanks @Hook, I've tried settings/notifications/wireless_emergency_alerts and settings/safety_and_emergency/wireless_emergency_alerts and turned off what I can, but one of the selections (emergency_alerts) is greyed-out and active. I don't suppose rooting would make a difference?, maybe I'm stuck with it.
