Today I have just received my Pro1 bought at dragonbox.de (still a pre-orderer with IGG coupon here). I have still not tested it too much but I am very convenienced with this device. I am very happy that I have ordered QWERTZ layout which works very well currently with the help of FinQwerty's QWERTY layout. (I would have been much happier with unshifted QWERTY anyway but the QWERTZ keyboard with a correct QWERTY layout is a good compromise.) Some sticky modifier keys would be good anyway and also the ability to access layout files somehow (I have still not looked how to do it) as I2 points

The universal holder from Brodit does the job. Sorry, no idea about measurements and order number, it is like 6 years old. But i just needed to widen this universal holder to max after using it for XA2 which was more narrow. The thickness is exactly matching the cutout space so the proΒΉ sits very tight. https://twitter.com/eLtMosen/status/1197074326245257216 Oh, and cheers form an Audi 80 [B4] owner for ~10years π Now i upgraded to this nice [W639] Vito with just 260tKm.2 points

I was naive but red flags are now quite apparent xD. There is hoping the people's choice thing does get some attention still I guess.2 points

You mean all these references from tech magazines nobody ever heard of, which are (of course this is pure coincidence) registered to the same persons also doing the award does not clearly show that everything is fair play? π€2 points

Ironically, it was a different phone, running Puffin OS. It completely slipped my mind because it was ultra cheap (like US$60) and I was more interested in the cloud based tech than using it as a daily driver. I also confused when I backed this project with others (PC games I backed that are still in development) -- this Puffin phone went from Kickstarter in July to shipping now, which I 100% wasn't expecting... and yet still forgot I backed the phone! This isn't a slight against fxtec at all, as this Puffin phone is intentionally as basic and generic as a phone could possibly be, whereas1 point

Okay good to know that it works. I'll update the main package later today. That package has all that is needed to get into the boot loader. It only excludes system, vendor, and data. How are you trying to get into the boot loader? You should start with power off, then hold the volume down key, then press the power key. Once you see the boot loader screen, release the power key first and then release the volume key. If that does not work, tell me exactly what you see in the screen (if anything).1 point

works, but my problem is not fixed... it still doesn't boot - even not to the bootloader. could you add all that is in /dev/sdb (bootloader)?1 point

Ohh so we can win the peoples choice award but not the finalists from the judges panel thing? I wouldn't describe anything on that website with the word "clearly" to be honest xD.1 point

That is why forums with editable topics normally need some form of history. But in my opinion it is useless to not be able to correct or refresh a post. Nobody will read through a hundred sites of stuff to get an overview. They will just open a new thread with a title like "What is a good working app for X". Editing the thread with the app recommendations would allow to have one centralized complete list (as an example).1 point

Years? Wow! And the moral of the story is, good things come to those who wait. Soon we'll have a clack party! π1 point

Mine was from Clove Tech, received safely...though you can believe I was standing at the door waiting for the UPS delivery driver. The universe is conspiring against pre-orderers and my attempt at 'cheating' would be just my luck to be stolen by my first ever porch pirate.1 point

is not possible to good separe curved glass from display and then quality glue it back without any problems , bubbles and defects. ....AND for any service technician it this very hard and long time work. Display self is cheap (approx 50-70USD) if you search for original BOE display for elefone u pro....just check part numbers1 point

PS If you add an iron ring to use with a magnetic car holder, it would make a LOT of sense to have the flap turning downwards... As the flap would otherwise fall over the phone if placed closed in landscape (say for sat nav)1 point

You should probably contact support and ask them directly, often more fruitful than the forums I think. However we do know it's the same screen as Elephone U and U Pro, so these in theory should fit: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32952316407.html1 point

That wont help much, as this is the Latin based letters only, not the Cyrrilic ones.1 point

I've created a small tutorial that might help you to get around some quirks you might have with your F(x) Tec Pro1. Let me know what you think about it and if you have further suggestions which I can add to it :) It's available both in German and English and you can find it here: https://www.dragonbox.de/index.php?fc=module&module=ybc_blog&controller=blog&id_post=91 point

The finalists have already been chosen though if you look careful, and the whole thing was rigged, the votes don't count :-(. Guess all that counts for them is bribes.0 points

edit: Unfortunately it turns out this info wasn't for this phone. It turned out to coincidentially be for a Kickstarter I backed from YEARS ago and had not been tracking and coincidentially lined up. Sorry for the false alarm. Just got my tracking info. Shipping via DHL, to arrive on Jan 2 Not an IGG backer Pre-ordered/paid early August I'm United States-based Order number is in the 29XXX range Officially on my account, it's still reading "Processing" and I have not yet gotten an email from Fxtec. Which... I guess this could be something else, bu0 points
