  1. You don't mean that, do you? That's not how business works. Nobody would have ordered anything anymore, and other business players would have stopped doing business with them. My guess: because they might not have had enough money left for a coder for a few months, after so many months of COVID-19 and other factors having stopped production again and again, reducing sold quantities to a fraction of what they hoped to produce. If they would have been fluent enough for that, they probably wouldn't have needed to resort to IndieGogo to fund new batches of devices in the first place.

  2. Gonna take a while since they are still using Windows 7 🀣 Windows 10 was released 6 years ago, I reckon we should expect that much delay then.

  5. I thought it might make sense to start a new thread after the ProΒΉ X practically having become a new device, with several months ahead of us before we can hope to get one. Here's F(x)tec's latest info which came in via IndieGogo right now: Reason to stay optimistic after all, I'd say, despite the additional waiting time... Cheers, Robert

  6. I have been looking for a phone for some time now, but it seems that the phone market is not geared towards people with my preferences. Clearly i am not the only one since the Fx pro1 was created. It has a lot of what i want, including improved privacy and control in the OS, and a keyboard. One of my favorite phones i owned was the Microsoft Kin Two which had a great slide out keyboard. But it still is missing something that i really want, which is a compact phone option. At 154x73.6 with 6" display, the pro1 has a big foot print (by my standards). Id really prefer something with a 5" sc

  7. I've done a first build of AICP Q using the Lineage 17.1 sources as a base. After it is tested for a while, I will probably try to get official support. The boot image is used just as in the Lineage test builds. Flash it with fastboot, boot into recovery, and then flash the main zip. If you want gapps, I tested OpenGapps pico for Android 10.0. Don't forget to switch slots before flashing gapps. Please report any issues and I will try to sort them out. Boot image for initial flash: http://files.nwwn.com/android/pro1/aicp_pro1-q-boot.img

  8. Preamble As I needed the Russian layout in my Pro1 I ordered QWERTZ phone that could be transformed more easily. Unfortunately, after more than a year of waiting for my delivery, they gave me shifted-QWERTY one πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Now it's been half a year since I use my Pro 1 without keyboard cause it is completely unsuitable for me to shift Russian layout. And just wearing this heavy brick in my pocket not using its most important feature... So finally I decided to try to unshift QWERTY back to its normal place. Topic As I can see this will require solving two problems: 1

  10. There is absolutely no excuse for the state stock is in right now. If I knew it would turn out like this I would have went with Lineage from the get go. Right now my phone is just too "lived in" and I can't be bothered to wipe / install and set everything up again. πŸ˜•

  11. Just a wild guess based on windows. Some programs change their title depending on what is active. Could that be helpful in getting the password manager to distinguish what password goes to what?

  12. We MIGHT be in a situation that it is the same swindlers that developed the pcb that also holds the source for the software to it, and if so we are unlikely to see things corrected on stock, at the least until some court ruling freeing it so someone else can fix stuff.

  13. I'm almost certain that FinQWERTY does not copy in files, it offers them to the system as resources not as 'physical' files, as I understand it. But I could be wrong.

  14. Changing the checksum of the system partition only breaks OTAs when they actually patch the partition itself, and not individual files within the partition. I tried to find out how LineageOS updates work, but I did not manage to get any useful information. I remember original Motorola OTAs failing to install on Moto Z phones that had a modified system partition. When it comes to safety, there is no difference between me remounting /system, or an app doing so. If FinQWERTY does its job without root, then it is safe to use and won't/can't modify /system. Nope. You make it sou

  15. Yes, I can confirm it for the current versions of Brave, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi, Yandex on LineageOS 17.1. I don't know whether any of these are actually using the Android Autofill Framework to make it work, or whether Bitwarden recognises them as browsers and manages to extract the website URL through the accessibility services, which I found I have to enable for making it work at least on Opera. (The default browser on LineageOS 17.1, org.lineageos.jelly, by the way, doesn't work with Bitwarden, either.)

  16. This site perhaps wasn't the best example because it has a usable mobile mode, but for the most sites I visit on my phone I usually like the desktop mode better. Also, when using my preferred (so far) browser which is Opera, it doesn't feel like I need a special tool πŸ˜‰... Some sites' mobile modes, like ebay's (ok, there would be a dedicated app for that, which I don't like much though, either), even hide some of the information they're showing in desktop mode. No, I'm no friend of most websites' mobile modes and I don't suppose I'm going to become one any time soon...

  17. Well, it was based on @LIMA plus inspiration from keyhanig as he aimed to make a tpu case not a rigid pla case, and finally some minor modifications to make it hold one to the top/bottom halves, lastly some changes were made to allow sailfish users to swipe from the edge. So i guess the credit goes to @LIMA and @Keyhanig for making this possible

  18. My guess would be that it would give a better result to polish of the black paint (and most likely that would remove the white and the yellow squares too), and then paint all white, and then with a mask for letters and symbols paint all the rest black. On the software side, you should definitely have a look at FinQWERTY, that is open source, and see how he maps things.

  21. Optimistic? πŸ˜† With my engineering experience they have maximum 4 weeks for successful certification If they really want to send ready devices in August. And Where are the prototypes of 662 boards?

  22. I have a similar problem, the people won't refund my money, and now they delayed the process but saying it needed more than the pu it has.been scheduled for.... More needless delays.... Rather trade 4 an Astro-slide!

  24. I'm like you yes. I think the pro1 is excellent, it has the portrait full keyboard I desperately wanted, and it is the only one. But a bit too big. To me the best size was the Droid4, I could easily reach the center of the keyboard with my thumbs. Nothing is perfect, and regarding my wishes, the pro1 is by far the best option.

  26. Just published release v1.2.0 including tab sessions killer feature 😁 It's quite a large code change. By far the largest feature I implemented in that code base so far. Use Ctrl+Shift+S to open the sessions menu.

  27. I tested with a 128GB SDXC used in my laptop which reported itself as exFAT and the Pro1 read it fine and wrote all it's default folders onto it. πŸ˜„ So I think it's good.

  28. Okay I figured out the problem with yesterday's build. I did not clean out my build tree from last time, and the Lineage guys changed the location of a file so I had two copies in the zip. I've done a clean build and verified that it flashes and boots okay this time. New build, same link: 2b0478469b9f756f613f20549cee6b9f Dec 7, 2020 ... and please test exfat, my "big" sdcard is currently formatted ext4 so I haven't tried it yet.
