When opening and mounting a new display, consider to also add a slight diffuser for the LED. @SCΛRECROW reported good result with simple mate tape here

I think you should start to see what models you can get a HK wallet for. And then start by ruling out the too short and too narrow ones. Most likely you will have to end up buying one slightly too large, with ROUGHLY similar camera holes, and carefully remove the holster part, and then find a simple tpu-case that suits the pro1, and glue that on the inside of the wallet were the old sat, and do any cuttings/adjustments for camera etc. Here is a list of currently known devices with roughly similar dimensions as the bottom half. https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nHeightMin=153&

Yes, I guess it would have been a bureaucratic mess to make an infinitesimally small change to the Pro1X, say black housing, and called that say Pro1W and have that been for pre-orders and the other IGG-perks - with individuals preferring the other than what they were in for. Of the major changes they were forced to make after they got swindled, the drop of the 'IGG exclusivity' of the Pro1X variant was one of the least ones IMHO.

The Priv, as well as the Pro1, and some Samsungs, is only curved in one direction. So it is fairly easy to make a real tempered glass screen protector for them. And I used them on the Priv. Despite searching quite a bit, I unfortunately have not found similar for the Pro1 or Elephone U (pro) using the same screen. I tried with a glass cutter to cut some intended for a Samsung S8+ with practically same width but longer - but was unable to, they all broke. ...You can still get them for a Priv. e.g. here

Thanks for the hint. I DO have the same problems, though it does not seem to help opening the keyboard. Sometimes the scanning works, but have not been able to do it in a reproducible way, nor do I see any pattern.

Yup. Especially if you use a dark theme, you will seldom see it.

Sounds sad, but could be that they are merely saying that all that are in the pipeline for batches with shipping before that are allocated. But that could also be just my over-optimistic guess.

Never actually used them. It was mostly a proof of concept. The touch worked as such though obviously not at the side edges

Even the hugest players have problems getting components for their goods, so no big surprise that it goes for a tiny player too... If they are guilty of anything here, it is being over optimistic in these harsh times.

The big difference (for some companies) is that that the stock version has been certified by Google.

My GUESS would be that if a device support some (or even most), but not all of the bands the carrier offers, they will be reluctant to let it into their net. Simply because the bad experience of "poor coverage" most often fall back on the carrier, even if it actually is the phone that can not use the bands offered in the area in question. This dialogue is not uncommon: "I got a lousy signal here! - What carrier are you using? - XXX - Ahh, damned XXX" ...

I understand your point of view, but I bet that the work it would require to persuade huge tele-companies to care about a tiny player like FxTec would far exceed any profit they could gain by additional sales. If they felt they could sell say 10K extra Pro1(X) it would obviously be a different story, and they could ask with a punch with a little weight. I think that the original idea of this thread with a user group is much more likely to have any leverage.
