  1. I would suggest that you between your 1 and 2 install the stock Android, to get it as close to factory condition as possible, and IF the keyboard works there, install Lineage. If not it must be a hardware issue.
  2. (lineage-18.1-20220214-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on January 5 security patch installed smoothly using OTA ) ...But the reintroduced (early August) Accessibility / keyboard bug is not (yet) fixed. The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though)

  4. This is a post with links to threads on various tasks. Like installing and repairing. Suggest additions at will. If I find it relevant, I will add it, and plan to remove the suggestions to keep this thread (c)lean. ***Please be aware that guides for Pro1 and Pro1X are NOT interchangeable in general, though much goes for both*** Please: Help keep the forum clean and use the Report function whenever you see some spam or similar irrelevant content. 5. Good idea! I will suggest that someone make (and maintain) a FAQ post with relevant links in the "How to" section. I could then 'pin' it to the main-list, and it should contain links to the three currently 'pinned' on how to open up the display, how to setup qwertZ and how to flash. (and these three post could then be unpinned)
  6. If you got titanium backup, my approach before a wipe would be gradually> A backup One by one uninstall (or disable) any app. Start with those easy to reinstall, and/or recently installed, (and without any hard to restore data). Repeat this until it helps or all is gone. Wipe the phone by a factory reset Flash back to Stock Android (If your Lineage installation is somehow damaged) If you send it to service, they are most likely to start at step 4 anyway, unless it is a known bug to them.
  7. Update to February 9, with January 5 security patch using OTA went smoothly. Known keyboard bug still there (see lineage thread) (The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though - like it is on LineageOS)

  9. To the last part, technically yes, but I do not know if FxTec got the small board in stock as a spare part. If you feel sure it isn't just pocket lint or similar, you could try asking them if they got it in stock. I have no idea how easy/hard the tiny usb-board itself is to service if it is say a broken soldering. I do not recall anyone in the forum discussing that. (could be a memory glitch though)
  10. After air, I would try a soft brush, before trying a toothpick, and only as a last resort try a needle or other metal.
  11. Good to know that it is less bad with a ticket. But from the "no answer" in the OP, this might not be the case here.
  12. Please note that repeated mails pulls the oldest mail(s) back in the queue to the newest, so that only make things worse. ;-( But indeed sad with the long repair-time. Unfortunately other users have also reported experiencing long repond/repair-times.

  14. Thanks for testing. Nice to know. Would have been nice if it had worked.
  15. 🤪🤪🤪Indeed the bribes and computer animations for the independent reviews out there needed as part of that smoke screen would be really costy 🤪🤪🤪 🤫🤐

  17. I do not know if native android 9 supports touch on external monitor. It might be a Samsung DeX feature? Or as you suggest Android 12. Maybe LineageOS or AICP? At the least they are offered based on newer android than 9/pie. ADD It seems to have been in Android for a decade, BUT needed/needs a proper driver.... See e.g. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/connecting-android-tablet-to-external-touch-screen.1294268/
  18. I think it will much depend on the individual which is best. The Cosmos keys are much larger, and this is obviously more comfortable for those that do not need the many extra keys on the Pro1/Pro1X that much or for those with large fingers. Also have a look at the successor to the Cosmo, the AstroSlide. that should be start shipping as we speak. Same key size, but other improvements.
  19. Yup. Though I prefer the qwertZ, i would much rather have a Pro1 with qwertY than no Pro1. 🙂
  20. Ebay is indeed more likely BUT the qwertY print does not only differ on Y/Z and umlauts, the qwertY have all keys shifted, making it rather uncomfortable for any languages with letters beyond A to Z.... See e.g. here
  21. Update to January 26, with January 5 security patch using OTA went smoothly. Known keyboard bug still there (see lineage thread) (The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though - like it is on LineageOS)
  22. The swindle could also be part of this. They might miss part of the source code / licence keys for the 835 variant, if some is held by the swindlers. And legal battles take ages...

  24. Seems mostly Android not Pro1 specific to me. You could consider some of the alternative ROMs available. BTW Aeroplane mode is something I use whenever I am at the cinema, or e.g. a meeting - sometimes even over night. Much faster to toggle than turning the phone off and back on, and for all practical purposes just as efficient....
