I was going to take a screencap of it, but it's all fixed now. Typical. ALso weirdly enough, I can't get Magisk Manager to open without crashing. Have to figured that one out now.

@tdm , I just installed test8 and I am BLOWN away with how much progress you've done with it. And everyone else: Has anyone noticed some oddities with the front facing camera in Google Duo? I get a lime green appearance to my face. This also appears in other apps, but not in the default camera app.
-
@Khalid I know you wanted something that works out of the box, but test8 of the Lineage build is out of this world good. The margin settings eliminate the accidental touches and TDM's work on the keyboard driver has completely changed how it operates.

Can SELinux validation be faked with Magisk? I have a few apps that require certification 😕

Tired of Curved screens accidental touches? To stop it for good, try this: Step 1: Open Play Store. Step 2: Search for EdgeNull. Step 3: Install EdgeNull Step 4: Open EdgeNull and set a portrait and landscape pixel width of 58. Set any other settings that tickle your fancy. Step 5: Live happily ever after.

Honestly, i'm tempted to give my device off to some engineer to design a case in CAD which can then be 3D printed at will using a nice rubbery material. A proper fitting case is a custom made solution.

After a solid month, I give up. I need to vent.

OP, I feel your pain. I already dropped the device from my hands (damn slippery metal) onto cement and now the back is marred up. This is one device where a case would reduce not only the slipperiness, but stop the stupid curved screen touches. Doubly so, the app EdgeNull is a GOD SEND for stopping the accidental touches. I set the pixel width to 58 for both landscape and portrait. This is a perfect mix that blocks touches and above all still allows you to hit burger menu icons for various apps. Also, for some reason my Wifi connection to my home router is utter shit. -
Google around for the pixel camera apk. The camera apk adds all of the goodies the pixel has.

You'll like it but the slightly shifted keyboard will take a bit of time to get used to. For m, it was nice to not worry about having triple button pressesss and erratic screen fritziness.

As a betting man, I put the blame on the cable. The charging state when off thing just makes functional sense. The cable still works, but it's been relegated to data only usage. Glad I bought a bunch of new cables from amazon before it got here.
-
For all the curious, changing the charging state and trying a different USB c cable seems to have solved the issue. The original cable still works, but I'll just leave him in the desk for now.
-
Just did it after posting, I'll report back if it fixes it.
-
Don't mean to sound like a smart ass, but of course. First thing I did.

Bump, noticing the same weirdness as the OP. Except, this is on the stock cable and charger. Plugged it in at night, woke up with 48%. Tried different cables. Any reported solutions?

Keep all of the keyboard profiles unchecked. When you see the notification, slide it left or right partially and you'll see the notifications icon. Hit that and you can hide the notification permanently. Can also be done for other annoying notifications!

Dumb question: how to type special characters?

Thanks mate, that makes perfect sense. -
Dumb question: how to type special characters?

Sorry Craig, I'm totally confused now. We want Shift to be the button that calls up special characters instead of the yellow arrow? If that's the case, then I'm just going to sit quietly in this corner. Just ignore me. My bad guys! -

Weird, when I press the yellow arrows ↗ on the bottom row in conjunction with the number keys, I get the special characters like @$^*^. I'm running the latest version of stock. -

Sorry for not being specific. I wasn't happy with the FinQwerty layouts. In another post, someone had mentioned it's possible to restore functionality by disabling all of the keyboard layouts. Sounds counterintuitive, but if the keyboard input profiles are all blank (deselect all of the profiles and then hit the back arrow) the phone will go to "default". All of the keys, shift, and special characters will work. See my attached photos. There will be a notification prompt urging you to select a keyboard input profile. You can tell Android to silence it which is what I did by swiping -

Don't forget to deselect the keyboard profile and hide the notification to set it, the keyboard will then operate as intended. This is a nuisance bug. -
Using the Pro1 as a daily device - what hinders you?

Probably not. I just saw it in the magisk list and downloaded it. -

I just set up my SD card as internal storage. Solves the problem for the most part. Good to know the Pixel stuff isn't needed for the camera. Regardless, I like the pixel features 😀 -

Using it daily and running stock with Magisk. I really like the phone, but my two biggest annoyances are the curved screen and the slightly offset keyboard. The F key is one key off from where my thumb naturally wants to fall. I end up typing gibberish if I try to go full steam ahead without confirming where I put my thumb. I've gotten better and I think this will go away with time. I wish the keyboard didn't have some many superfluous keys on it like control and the special symbol characters. Hoping I can get used to the new arrangement, but it is definitely a learning c -
I'd just grab a Pixel sim card and shove it in. If it works yay, if it doesn't well no harm no foul.

If you deselect all of the keyboard profiles and hide the, "set your keyboard location" prompt window you'll be able to use the keyboard as it appears. Counterintuitive but I presume it's a bug that will be fixed soon.
