No, actually it is on by default. To provision VoLTE I had to flip 3 switches (go back to my original description). This is a fourth switch and I didn't have to flip it. Not sure why VoWiFI would be enabled and VoLTE not as a default, but that is apparently what I had. Lol.

@EskeRahn How do you do that? I put text in "About Me", but it doesn't show up. Or is that a moderator only trick?

Member title wasn't my suggestion. 😉

That'll work, but does require an extra step. I'm lazy. 😉

My sideloaded Netflix lets me download for offline (my bootloader is unlocked-- haven't rooted yet).

At this point, it would really be nice to have signatures on our posts. Maybe text only, to keep things from going over the top. But it would be nice to know if the poster has a Pro 1, what they are running on it, carrier, case or other accessories, maybe even key software, just to provide some instant context. Not a big deal and certainly not worth distracting from getting folks their clacks, but nice if it's easy.

I just tried it and it works fine on Verizon. I tested it both by turning off my mobile radio (I was still able to make calls-- since I don't have CDMA, it had to be via WiFi) and by making a Farcebook Messenger call (I know, it's embarrassing to have that on such a fine phone, but it's how my wife chooses to communicate). There is no setting I could find to turn VoWifi on or off. If you search settings it lists Wifi Calling, but when you tap it, it sends you to Network settings and there is nothing specific there. EDIT: Okay, found it. It's also provisioned on the menu you get

Apps that works great with a real keyboard and in landscape
Hook replied to EskeRahn's topic in General Discussion
You'll find these features in alternate launchers, Although I've never used it, I know Nova has a setting to allow widgets to overlap (I don't use a lot of widgets myself). The trouble is going to be that widget placement suffers the most in switching from Portrait to Landscape. You might look at what widget management Total Launcher has as it allows unique layouts for portrait and landscape rather than reapportioning one layout. I don't know if it allows overlap. -
This is just a review I posted at another site. I am not a professional reviewer nor can I claim to be independent. 😉 http://forum.brighthand.com/threads/review-of-the-f-x-tec-pro1-keyboard-slider-smartphone-2019.293542/#post-1916292 My perspective is from a less-technical user and a writer. This is a site with a lot of folks who go way back, to PDAs.

Just noting for clarity, at lest for the US Physical Qwerty selection under FinQwerty, you still have to use Fn to get ? or / since they are (insanely) on letter keys and so Shift isn't an option. -

A key question here is does hold "slant arrow" and type "?" (FN-?) work for you in any app? -
Happy Holidays and a very Clacky New Year to all! 😀

Power Consumption. How are you finding it
Hook replied to MickH's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
One and a half days for a modern smartphone, depending on how you define "moderate use," sounds pretty good. On the days I was testing the heck out of mine, I got down to 50% at bedtime. I consider that good. -

I have yet to find any app that doesn't accept slant arrow-? or / (otherwise known as Fn-? or /). I don't use Opera, but Firefox, my word processor, whatever. I have FinQwerty for everything else. -
This is actually a variation of the method I have been using and it works very well for me.

Say Pro 1 three times fast (I'm not the originator of this idea)... 😉

Maybe these keyboard opening posts deserve their own thread?
-
I'm pretty sure it has been mentioned before, but I didn't see it in this thread (admittedly a fast scan-- the problem with not gathering and updating a single list in OP): As far as I can tell, the backlight on the keyboard turns off when the screen times out and doesn't come back on when you wake up screen. You have to close and reopen the keyboard. I don't use the phone in total darkness. but I might sometime nd this would be pretty frustrating. It seems that waking the screen should also wake the keyboard backlight.

I just can't seem to get the thumb press in the underhanded version you show. It works easily if I do it ovehanded, meaning I lift the back slightly first and then push with my thumb. When I use two thumbs, it is exactly like you show, but either my thumb is very weak or I just can't find the right angle with my thumb doing it your way. No big deal and thanks. It opens pretty easily for me now.

I donated when I sent Anssi a feature request on a Sunday morning and an hour later had a new apk to test.

I want to know where that hidden lever is that allowed her to open the keyboard with just a nudge of her thumb. 🙄 I find it pretty easy to do now,but...
-
Yeah. On the other hand, injecting a little nonsense doesn't hurt. 😄
-
Well, if you aren't pressing then, no, I don't have it. Also, as you would expect, I only get it pressing hard length-wise. side-to-side I don't get it at all.

I see what you are talking about, but I wouldn't call that a wobble, nor a lack of build quality (mine does that too, but only when I force it to, not in every day handling). The phone has moving parts. You would not like the effect if they didn't move. 😉

Yeah, tried to cover my tracks. 😄
