  2. (lineage-21.0-20240427-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on Apr 5 security patch installed smoothly (*) using adb sideload and MindTheGapps-14.0.0-arm64-20231025_234300) And we still can only select one keyboard layout, so no easy layout switching, for multilingual usage. I think I will reduce to something like monthly updates, if development is slowed down anyway....

  4. Pro1 uses a display originally manufactured for Elephone U Pro. Here is an original display (my handwriting of the amount of black spot problem was blured) made for Elephone U Pro: Here are the displays arrived today: No, the original display I had in my hands was the original display of my Pro1 (early version). It looked like the top/bottom displays in the photo above. However, looking deeper of the most right one which is installed in frame, I suspect its sticky part was not covered with black tape (like the display in the middle). I think it may be a repl
  5. Can you provide us with photos why you think they are original displays? As far as I know, the Pro1 displays were originally displays from the Elephone which were repurposed. From reading your explanation, I could imagine the 'original' phone display you had in your hands was also from an Elephone. Anyways, there are two more important factors: does the display have black notches on the sides or even on the middle of the screen? Are the edges touch-sensitive? (I've had replacement displays with invisible edges and others that worked fine) If both are answered with 'Yes' then
  6. I have received my order from this seller today. I have ordered both displays with and without frame. The frame looks original part and display was declared to have small dots at the bottom. Also, these displays look like if they were prepared or more probably installed earlier in Pro1s. Original display has a blue foil to cover sticky copper part at a big area of its bottom as it arrives from manufacturer. Pro1's display originally has a black tape to cover most area of sticky part (after blue foil removed) and also a conductive tape for shielding display controller area.
  7. Lineage-21-20240429-NIGHTLY-pro1x with Apr 5th security patch installed smoothly via OTA. MindTheGapps14, and root was maintained.
  8. Lineage-21-20240422-NIGHTLY-pro1x installed OTA with no issues. I'm not rooted.

  10. Oh, I missed the question...! There is a fairly easy way to statically add kcm files with the need to build and install a new apk after adding – not dynamically, though. https://community.fxtec.com/topic/3848-pro1-x-us-and-us-intl-with-dead-keys-keyboard-layouts-finqwerty/?tab=comments#comment-65908 I cloned FinQwerty, I think I modified pro1x_qwerty_usa_1.kcm because it had a bug, then I created a new kcm file pro1x_qwerty_usaintl_1.kcm (to use myself), added entries for the latter in generate_layouts.py and in the finqwerty_layouts.xml and built a new apk (using IntelliJ IDEA
  11. Lineage-21.0-20240427nightly-pro1-signed.zip on April 5 (2024) security patch, installed smoothly using OTA -> Still the bluetooth issue with my smartwatch (will be patched with QPR2, I think / read)
  12. From what I remember, I think it isn't, because there are Android limitations that forbid it.
  13. It seems they try to get money from other projects. Also, as shipping company has started to sell phones may result in the lack of enough phones left to be sent. Although they told shipping company does not sell client's phones, it may not necessarily completely true - they may not had the actual number of phones sold this way and they may counted with additional stock manufactured (over the necessary amount) will cover this kind of loss but final number of sold Pro1X this way was also continued after they told it does not affect client's phones. So in their last message, start of shi
  14. Even in my mind, I can't type that fast.
  15. As I'm getting used to the new phone and mainly the keyboard, I've done some typing tests. At the moment, I am getting 300-320 (340 peak) characters/minute (German, including capital letters). This is good news since on my Pro1 I was at 320-330cpm with 370 peak (only English) and I'm only using the keyboard for around two weeks now. Especially the reprogrammed keys Ctrl right / Right shift help a lot. Currently, I'm already typing blindly quite often but I have to 'recalibrate' my position after deleting characters. The keyboard definitely has potential!
  16. IF that all was true (which might or not be the case), the reason mainly lies in the size of the company. The smaller you are, the less leverage you have and the worse your conditions for production are. You will also get screwed over in other countries and there are many trustworthy sellers and fabrics in China as well. FxTec had to go for cheap solutions and some solutions might have been too cheap. But (another time assuming they always said the truth) it was always badly organized. There should always be money for a couple of people controlling the processes. At least when they steal
  17. Yeah, I know that. But I was just wondering if there is a mod version where you could add kcm files by yourself to the app. But it might not be technically even possible.
  18. It is open source, so you can compile your own variant, if you have things set up to do that on a pc.
  19. Btw, how did you modified FinQwerty app? Is there possibilty to add own kcm files?
  20. Yes, I do this all the time with magnetic cables. My cables are all USB 2.0-- for my uses I've never thought it worth bothering trying t upgrade. The magnetic adapter goes in when I first receive any phone and never comes out. I've never felt any play with any adapter I've used.
  21. Can one flash the phone through such adapters? I.e. can one do things like "fastboot flash" or "adb sideload" safely without removing the adapter? I was considering something like this, but since I sometimes flash my Prawns several times per week, it'd likely loose the adavantage of reduced wear of the USB socket if I had to remove and re-plug the adapter each time.
  22. VaZso is absolutely right. That's my problem. I've already tried an external reader and another phone. Card is not recognized... Stefan
  23. So I'm a lucky within the ⅓ they delivered? Also, how unlucky can a company get with all of what happened wow... Pandemic out of nowhere (cannot travel to China) Stolen money for the SoC (which is about half the price of the phone) Need to buy new SoC but completely screwed about its functionalities (China: The land of smokes and mirrors) and Chen couldn't be there to experience himself because air-traveling was restricted Then delivery company starts delivering some phones and selling some of the stock itself. -> Change of company Then the logistics of
  24. I can't be sure of their motivation, but I believe it's about security, in case the database of this forum gets leaked or something else happens, their personal data are less likely to be part of it.
  25. Security and comfort are always in race. I think users have not requested this as a feature from Google and normally there is no benefit of it. However, if phone has been stolen, this can be a real benefit... Otherwise it creates trouble accessing data outside the phone and I don't know if there is a way to extract key from a working system to be used later in case of a decryption will be necessary. (That is not really important for Google...)
  26. I thought I should add here what I already mentioned somewhere else; those NetDot magnetic connectors/connector cables didn't prevent my Pro1's USB socket from failing. (Happened some time ago, even before I got my Pro1X; I replaced it successfully with a spare USB board from Fxtec, but I broke other things in the progress, like fingerprint reader, one of the volume buttons and the orientation sensor/switch.) My suspicion is that any cable or adapter that doesn't sit tightly and still has some play when inserted will, at some point, break the socket. As most of my other USB C devices nev
