I think part of it is the variation in the expectations people bring to the phone. This phone is not for everyone. It's not a polished experience at all times. I expected that and it is a trade I'm willing to make for, not only a physical keyboard, but for a phone I can easily tweak, root etc. This phone is perfect for me, not because it is a perfect phone, but because it closely aligns with want I want and need. Quite honestly, that was the appeal of the Nexus phones I had previously. They also had rough edges in both software and hardware, but they were my first choice over Samsung4 points

I started working on Fulguris Web Browser. It's primarily targeting F(x)tec Pro1. Now available on PlayStore for free.1 point

Pros and cons, a lot has to do to usage pattern. If you primarilly are going to use the keyboard on a table and not handheld. Planet's models might be interesting. Search for Cosmo or Astro or Astroslide in this forum. I have listed a few alternatives here (yet to be updated on the Astroslide)1 point

In Germany there was an interesting report [heise.de, German] following the 2007 LÜKEX exercise ("Länderübergreifende Krisenmanagement Exercise"), a staff framework exercise in which supply chain communication was tested with different scenarios. LÜKEX is repeated every few years with changing settings. The 2007 setting was "influenza pandemic". Roughly 3000 people took part in the tabletop exercise. "In the most aggressive of three possible scenarios that the Robert Koch Institute set at the time, 21 million people were expected to be ill and the total lethality to exceed 170,000 deaths.1 point

Mines is even wider since I have hidden the system nav bar and use nav gestures à la android 10. The code base is actually rather well structured. It should be doable without architectural changes.1 point

Actually the support for hardware keyboard IS part of Android, and has been it 'always', or at the least for very long. BUT it is not optimised for it, as they clearly focus on devices with fake keyboards only. So any fancy features would be needed to by added to android. Though a lot of clipboard and text/page navigation and the like, is as you would expect it in a PC. including task-switching.1 point

Oh indeed, from a user perspective it technically seems be good, but the question is how the code is made, and how much would need to be rewritten. Or perhaps the idea would come at other odd side-effects. we do not think of initially.1 point

I'm very pleased too. Note that going for a non-curved screen would mean two thing Higher price Lesser Screen-to body-ratio. (larger body or lesser screen) So personally I think it would be MUCH better to at a deep hardware-driver level at the users choice offer the display to the system as Full, 2160x1080 (18:9) slightly reduced keyboard side only, 2160x1035 (18.8 : 9) slightly reduced both sides, 2160x990 (19.6 : 9) substantially reduced keyboard side only, 2160x990 (19.6 : 9) substantially reduced keyboard side, slightly on opposite, 2160x9451 point

I concur: especially for a startup, this phone is very, very good. I know the long production time has people irked but in all honesty: it's worth it. There's small bugs and little things that can be done better, sure. But I find this phone very pleasant to work with. Just... ditch the curved screen next round...1 point

While this is definitely the best case I've seen for this phone so far (other than flip cases), this picture makes me wary of how much it would impede usage of the keyboard's top row. Could you tell us if it causes any issues? Could it be made thinner in that area?1 point

I think this is the thread you're looking for: Yeah, my phone is still sitting broken on my desk. This was my experience with warranty support: when I mailed them the day after I made the thread, they asked me to submit a video for QC purposes and asked if I would like to send in my phone for them to repair or if I would like to do the repair myself (I told them I would prefer sending them my phone so they could have a look at other smaller issues like the screen webble that got worse and worse and the really poor 4G reception), sent the fideo they promptly replied that a replacement s1 point

Once I finish the complete design, I will make a decision. I will most likely print them out for people that want it and they can just pay for the shipping.1 point

Hey guys. Just wanted share the case I printed out for my wife. She wanted a functional opening case that would protect her phone and won't fly off when it opens. After many attempts I was able to get it to work. I'm probably going to modify it some more and tweak my print settings to make it a lot nicer and possible do some post print finishing.1 point

@tdm Thank you for whatever you can do whenever you can do it. Right now, the number one priority is taking care of yourself and your family. Bless you for all you have already done! Cheers!1 point

Hey all, it's been a while since I've been here so I wanted to pop in and give an update. I live in Seattle, which has been under stay-at-home orders for over two weeks and will continue until at least the end of this month. I have a wife and 4 boys at home, and we are all healthy. But it is difficult to get any work done between the constant interruptions. In addition, I have been given a new project at work that will take a week or two to complete. So I'm afraid that I won't have much of any time to work on the Pro1 until at least the middle of April, but more likely the star1 point

Since nobody has tried to answer, I'll do my best. I don't know if it has stabilized, but seems to be working well, so unless anyone complains, I dont think they'll change it.
