Lineage should support ext4 for sdcards. I expect I'll add exFAT support at some point now that Microsoft has opened up the patents. Unfortunately, I doubt you'll see exFAT on stock anytime soon. The most likely path is for Qualcomm to add exFAT support as a standard driver in their Q kernel. But I haven't looked to see if they did that, and I have no idea if IdeaLTE is even working on Q for the Pro1.3 points

Catching up on a couple days here... Yes, I'm working with @Digital_Toxin to resolve the locked boot loader. @acrux @schmittlauch I've never installed SailfishOS, so I'm not sure how that would affect the phone. But I can tell you that Lineage uses a different format for userdata (FBE instead of FDE) and modifies boot, vendor, and system partitions. I also suspect that AVB may have something to do with this. Are either of you currently stuck in a place where you are not able to use your preferred OS? @SchattengestaIt the kernel keymap location has been me3 points

Not exactly. Google may not make it easy but they have explicitly stated in the past that rooting (and unlocking the bootloader) does not void warranty on their branded devices and I believe this is still true with Pixel devices. They even provide factory images that can be flashed before warranty repair. They simply state that if you get into trouble by altering Android code in some way you shouldn't, flash the factory image before sending your device in. F(x) Tec is the same. They encourage unlocking and rooting and doing so won't void warranty.2 points

@EskeRahn is correct, the A/B system is for updates. Android (either stock, or Lineage when it's official) will install OTA updates to the non-active slot, then tell the boot loader to switch active slots, and then prompt you to reboot. So no, by default, you cannot use A/B for a dual-boot system. Additionally, there is only one data partition. So any dual boot scheme would require some way to separate data A from data B. And lastly, you would probably want some sort of a boot manager to select the slot at boot time. So in theory, it would be possible to2 points

In my case, everything went smoothly: Refund requested by email, first response within 24h, refund within 48h and credit card crediting within 24h later. So everything is fine and there is no reason for any doubts about the company or the support!2 points

Basically the problem with rooting is what you wrote above. There are apps which I should use and they handle everybody as billions of flies. I understand the reasons behind this but I don't agree with them - I understand it is not simple, but that way a web browser on any machine is a very similar "security risk", so do remove all permissions from users on every machines as they don't need it (NO!). ...and there is a continuous fight between those who root their devices and others who don't allow to have full control over your device and on the top of this side is Google. ...and2 points

[This is a temporary page while we setting up the support page guild and host files on our server.] The Fastboot restoration file can be downloaded in here. ADD: A newer file for 20200825 can be found here Preparation: You need to have a PC and installed universal ADB driver. Completely turn off the phone. Download the firmware and unfold and copy all the files into the adb folder which installed with the driver. Procedures: Hold Volume down + Power key together, when the logo shows up, release both fingers. The phone should boot into bootloade1 point

It just happened to me again. I could not get this solution to work. I noticed there was no feedback from holding the power button (there's usually a very light kick from the button when the menu pops up) so I'm not sure I ever got the restart menu. I will try again the next time it happens. I have confirmed that that combination of Tabs and Enter should work if the menu comes up.1 point

I beg to differ 😉 Android wasn't really designed to be rooted by the user, and if it can be in a device, it's by no obvious or openly available means. Means which neither Android itself nor the device's manufacturer openly provided. Some devices are not rootable at all, like the Priv. Properly done, root access would have been implemented like other operating systems do, as temporarily elevated privileges with no need to put the whole device in a permanent state of being unsafe. The fact that it wasn't done like that can only be attributed to Android as the operating system, and its1 point

I did my homework and I have good hope I could implement a workaround in Fx Service. Just have to find time to try it out. See: https://github.com/Slion/FxService/issues/2 https://slions.net/resources/fx-service.8/1 point

Yes, but with the FxTec-provided part. Took me a maximum of 5 minutes.1 point

I bought a nice magnetic case that seemed very sturdy, but it ended up not being usable, since the phone holder is rigid (and it would need like 1 or 2 extra millimeters). I also had a rather rubbery phone holder for a flip case that was not sturdy enough for my tastes. I tinkered a "best of both worlds" version: I used some strong glue to get the magnet attached, so that it's not just held by tape. Some laundry clips straight out of the garden. By pure coincidence, my mom actually brought prawns for dinner while I was working on the cover, so I1 point

Finally got the phone. 😀 From what I understand, the delivery guy actually just flags packages meant to come here as having been attempted and a delivery notice having been given even though he kept the package, and he simply does that part of the delivery on the next day (the website doesn't help, implying that said notice is indicating if and where the package might have been left, and will tell you if further deliveries will be attempted if it wasn't). Might be making his life easier, but getting blatantly incorrect info is not exactly what I'd call a good experience for the recipients wh1 point

Yeah, that was indeed what I thought might have happened. The house is lost in the countryside, with only two neighbors. I actually checked the slightly distant neighbor's mailbox (they're away and we've agreed to take their mail in the meantime), the other's can't have been reached without me noticing, since the delivery man would have had to park right in front of ours to access it.1 point

FedEx is lying to me and saying they attempted delivery and I wasn't there. I am, not figuratively, camping in front of the house all day and night (working remotely during the pandemic). I'd be impressed if anyone managed to actually go to the mailbox without me noticing. While I do not tend to take being lied to lightly, having yet another "you're about to get the phone" followed by a "oh, never mind, new delay" has me ever so slightly upset. My phone is currently at the location indicated on the delivery attempt notification that was left in my mailbox. You know, the one that was neve1 point

I requested my refund on the 24th May via email and had the money in my account on the 3rd June. It did take a few days to get a response though.1 point

OK so I've replaced the screen - thanks @pistikem for the references. I did film it but not sure it's worth uploading as the guides above are of much better quality. Unfortunately, it appears the screen I've been sent has problems. While it's solved my initial issue, I've now got two "dead" zones running down each edge of the display, left and right. The reason I use the quotations is that it registers touch if I drag out from the middle of the display, but doesn't register a direct touch or dragging in from the edge of the display, which is most peculiar. I replaced it again with th0 points

Mine also arrived today. It looks really nice 🙂 The only little annoying thing is, that the SafetyNet Test fails and many apps won't work because that. I thought this was already fixed.0 points
