I think, given current global conditions, waiting 10 weeks is not that bad. FxTec is still a start-up, at least that's how I see it. This is a niche product, hand assembled craftmenship 🤣. It still hurts, but I am anxiously waiting for my Pro1 to be returned 🥰 .4 points

I noted that the ones mentioned are qwertZ, that are currently also marked as "out of stock" for new orders, I have no idea why they seem to have troubles getting more of those, but that could explain it.3 points

Lineage recovery will offer to install from sdcard if, and only if, a physical sdcard is present and it is able to be read without any decryption (eg. it is not used as adoptable storage). Lineage recovery will not offer to install from /data (including "internal storage" because the data partition is encrypted and Lineage recovery does not have any decryption capability. And yes, file-based encryption counts, because all files in /data/media are encrypted under FBE. This is not a bug. This is how recovery is supposed to work. TWRP bends the rules with data decryptio3 points

Thanks, I didn't know that. So it basically uses the same parts of Maps solution (and same hardware background) but in another form. 🙂2 points

Android Auto is an app that some cars have. It uses a USB connection to your phone to utilize some Android Apps (maps for navigation, music player apps, messaging, phone, etc) and format their output onto the larger car screen if you don't have navigation built in. It allows use of the controls on the steering wheel and voice, so you are pretty hands free on all operations. Plus, it keeps your phone charged because it uses a USB connection. 😄2 points

Well last december it was communicated that the main goal was to have 1-day delivery for christmas. That would require more than just a few spare units. Not sure if that has changed this year, with the pandemic people are less likely to order a phone for christmas, etc..2 points

It's 2 cases in one actually, got a modified Huawei P20 Pro silicone inside a Dux Ducis flip case. The case adds enough (but not intrusive) widht so my fingers only touch the edge of the silicone when holding it. You can check my post of it for pic reference: Edit: Also disregard the case not closing properly, that got solved over time and now it closes nicely. The material expanded just enough for it as I kept it in my pockets closed a lot. Edit 2: I like it because when we get a proper silicone I can just swap it inside. (sadly that still did not happen yet xD)2 points

I got a tracking number and they apparently just replaced it. Looking forward to that delivery.2 points

Sorry if I missed that somewhere (and I'm unable to find anything in these web forums, even in one I'm hosting myself); until now I didn't care for QWERTY because I ordered my device with QWERTZ. Now it seems I might get my Pro¹ sooner when I change the order to QWERTY, so I'd like to know if anyone is using the QWERTY layout to write text that includes special national characters like Umlauts, especially the German ones (ÄÖÜäöüß), like the "US International" keyboard on PCs does it (Which would be " follwed by A etc. for Umlauts and something like AltGr-S for ß...) ? Does that work? I ha1 point

Hello Folks, I hope you can help me because the original manufacturer manual was missing in my package 😉 I witnessed a strange thing with the screen orientation in my Pro1, from around December 2019, bought second hand. It is running LOS. I set the screen orientation to non automatic. So I want it in portrait when it is closed and only switch to landscape when it is open. This mostly works fine. But sometimes when the phone is closed and the screen is off and I lay it flat on a table it turns it self in to landscape mode. And it won't turn back to portait orientati1 point

It is actually not a physical contact but a small magnet that affects a Hall-sensor when closed. (The magnet is roughly under the right Shift key)1 point

You are not limited to a single layout, you can easily change. So if one is better than the other for different purpose, swapping is simple (Ctrl-Space in stock). I swap between Danish and English (and got a few others for testing too)1 point

Make sure the battery saver is not on. It prevents GPS to get any signal even if location services and data are on. I found this after a few months of very poor GPS performance (long periods until getting position, if at all), my battery saver was mostly on.1 point

Wow, thanks. I knew of FinQuerty, of course, but I didn't know it did that, too, including the necessary 'dead keys'. So that would be a good option for stock. Searching again, I find evidence that there is something like that in Lineage, too: I guess that should also include Umlauts? (I'm not decided yet whether I'll use LineageOS or rather stick to stock, but I guess I'll try Lineage first with the few critical apps that might check for SafetyNet and go back to stock only if I absolutely must...) In the end, the QWERTY layout might have a slight disadvantage for text, but an1 point

I am also using a black P20 Pro case which I have modified for the Pro1's holes and I am convinced. Edge touching is much better I think, but keyboard opening is a bit harder. However, I can open it easily by lifting its back up first. I wanted to have some protection because a phone with real keyboard is very important for me...1 point

I don't really know what is Android Auto exactly, but I never had any problems with GPS on my phone, also I found it to be extremely good in every situations. I don't use it very often though, but sometimes I use Waze and sometimes the Google version (Maps? application - it is translated so I am unsure about its name). It has always found satellites easily. Last time I used it today and I have not noticed any problems, however, mobile internet was active, so AGPS was available. Otherwise, I had problems with GPS on my Moto G6 phone in a strange way which appeared in a very bad situa1 point

Where I am (Coastal VA), I've never had any problems with navigation using Android Auto with either stock or lineage (I had other problems with Android Auto on Lineage, mostly the hands free stuff, which made me switch Android Auto functions to a different, stock android phone). But on stock, I never had a problem with the Pro 1 and Android Auto.1 point

Yes I was also wondering about this. From the current text of the website, I understand that they still intend to sell QWERTZ in the future, but it would be interesting to get confirmation. Or are they already collector items?1 point

We want to be in general availability with 1-day shipping before the holidays, which means all pre-orders will be fulfilled in advance before the 24th of December. Snipped from Erik's post last November I don't recall any announcements since then that changed their overall plan of 1 day shipping, unless I'm interpreting that incorrectly.1 point

What case are you using that helps with the screen edge?1 point

I do not think that F(x)tec ever planned to produce more than what was ordered. Perhaps a small overhead buffer, primarily for any needed warranty replacements, but I never heard that they would carry an extensive stock. There MIGHT be some dealers that want to take that chance though. We know that a few dealers had bought a handful for stock a while back - but they were sold out practically immediately. I do not know if any dealers currently got a stock.1 point

Yes, using stock I also have this issue...it doesnt happen with google remote desktop but I do prefer the Teamviewer app more.1 point

Me too. Both @elvissteinjr Tasker scripts and Null Edge (I preferred the former) worked well on stock for me, while the setting on Lineage makes them unnecessary.1 point

update: for me the solution was to move to lineageos and install acc module with setting up lower temperatures https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-magic-charging-switch-cs-v2017-9-t36684271 point

I'm running into an issue where sometimes my Pro1 can't get a GPS lock, and maps other location-based apps will either show me at home (even though I'm not) or show a very approximate location (presumably based on cell towers and/or WiFi). If I try to use navigation in Android Auto, the GPS will either work the whole drive, or never work. If it doesn't work at the start of the drive, I've never had it get a lock and start updating partway through, even after 30 minutes of driving. Similarly, if it does get an initial lock, I've never had it stop updating en route (though occasionally it w0 points
