  4. I know this type of threads got heated - anyway, I got response from fxtec support today concerning my 2nd piece order on Aug/31/2020, find as below. i.e. ETA next spring. FTN00b22, if you place order now and you are lucky, you will get it next summer. The most realistic estimate we have at the moment for another batch, which will include your order is between January 2021 and March 2021. We're very much aware your device should have arrived by now, and we're sorry we haven't met the previously suggested estimates. We want you to try the Pro1 for yourself more than a

  5. @Erik could you give some info about order status (order number is 48416), since support is not responding to emails?

  8. i mean, i slammed the shit out of it... with full force.. not give a flying f*ck. if it was a rock, it would have shattered into pieces... this thing held up pretty great. no damage, everything works. damage to the screen yeah, but no dead pixels, or lines or anything like that.. every phone i ever had i slam it and break it against the floor, usually stomp on it too.. been through like 30 phones cause of this bad habit. i'm definitely buying the pro-1x tech bundle when i get the money for it.

  9. I had mine fly off a desk and slam face down on my floor because my foot was apparently around the USB cable, somehow no damage. I also witnessed @mosen drop his Pro1 nearly a meter down onto pavement gaining a minor scratch on the screen, my heart skipped a beat tho.

  10. This is intended as a central entry point with links to known ROMs for the PRO1/PRO1X. You will need android adb / fastboot tools that officially can be found here (Windows / Linux / mAc) Important step BEFORE changing from Android initially!! If you want to ever be able to change the phone back to the state it had when you received it with stock Android, there is an important step that is needed before flashing any non android-based ROM, That is to backup the persist partition. If the device is unlocked and a recovery boot is present a fairly simple partition backup method (fo

  11. I've never figured out what the magnifying glass key is on the Pro1. 😄 The F logo key on AICP (and I think Lineage, but don't remember clearly) doesn't do anything that I've discovered.

  12. It has a keyboard mode that has default settings, i just got to used to that

  13. At least I haven't found it yet. And I'm assuming FxQwerty also would have problems with another OS's keyboard mapping, as FinQwerty does. While it's possible the screen gremlins might not kick up in fastboot, I'm not going to take the risk of trying to flash stock and getting everything set up again.

  14. I just tried UbuntuTouch, that does not have that problem. Focus is fine, but slow, or sometimes off, seems stuck, due to the app perhaps, or whatever. (I find the touch gestures hard to use, need serveral tries to get stuff right, not feeling good... but thats off topic.) I just say: Focus is generally working on UbuntuTouch but is kinda unsteady.

  15. indeed, infinite focus is blurry, but I have never used it before. according to google this seems to be a common LOS problem on many devices

  16. Yes, I tried everything. Weird enough, when reverting to Stock ROM, and then using the very same OpenCamera, API2, ... it works on auto. (Like in any other app, it just works.) Still, on OpenCamera app's infinity or manual>infinity setting it is blurred, but thats not a problem, as you also noticed - I just pull manual back to 100m or so, and it is fine. Problem is that with my phone on LOS, there is no way to get focus right, even manually like "really close but not quite infinity." Always blurry. As you (and others) do NOT have this exact problem, I wonder if there are d

  17. Yes, I see that too. As you mentioned above, "infinity" is not actually infinity. Objects at "infinite" distance are imaged sharply with the focus set to "somewhat-less-than-infinity", e.g "1000 m". I agree that this renders the "Focus-locked-to-infinity" mode of OpenCamera useless, I had never tried that mode before. However, this does not prevent me from putting distant objects into focus. That is perfectly possible for me, both manually (using the focus slider) or using auto-focus. I never used stock Android 9, so I do not know how my lens would behave then. Did you try switching

  18. It does sound like you could use some spare screens with such habits 😅. I haven't always treated my phones nicely but much like my n900 back when, I'm very careful and gentle with my Pro1 because I like it a lot.

  19. Both run just fine without gapps.

  20. Can you explain. I don't see this listed in the app features or screen shots. Are you saying the touch screen can be turned off and just the physical keyboard can be used? EDIT: Nevermind. Downloaded and figured it out. 😉 Interesting. Will need to do some testing, but this may save me!

  21. Did Asphalt allow to map hardware buttons on the keyboard?

  22. I play Asphalt too and if by chance folks do as well I created a team F(x)tec Pro | International flag Gotta say I got hooked and the keyboard controls are great!

  23. Yes, warranty case. Took 5 months. They had warned me beforehand that it might take longer because of the lockdown, but I didn't expect it to be that long.

  24. I remember a case some decades ago where one of my customers had an official software package with an unlocking diskette (long before usb-dongles) placed at each workstation, but they actually used the pirated version of the same software, to avoid the hassle with the diskette... Seems somewhat similar.

  25. Riptide Gp Renegade also works awesome with the keyboard. Keys are customizable and it is a premium game, so absolutely no in-app purchases.

  26. Here's a screenshot of the games I have installed (only the ones I detailed above properly support the keyboard), but I thought I'd share this if anyone is looking for some cyberpunk or pixel art game recommendations. Most of them are premium, so no pay to win, in-app purchases or ads. PPSSPP works great for PSP emulation if you put the on screen analogue stick in the top left and set buttons to Q W A S, d-pad to keyboard arrows and L to volume-up and R to right shift. SNES emulation is also great. I'll set up a NEO GEO emulator in the near future. PPSSPP

  27. You're right. Behaviour is identical on mine. Sorry, I tested 3 and Vice City in game but for SA I saw keys worked in menu and also key binding options were available so I didn't test in game and supposed they work (don't have that much time). Also, key binding options are gone in game menu after first run.

  28. Friday morning, I received a call, everything was normal. Friday evening, I got another call. I could hear the caller clearly, but they could not hear me. They called back, I put them on speakerphone, and we completed the call. Since then, the only way to take a call is on speakerphone. I've tried turing the device off and back on, which completely exhausts my technical expertise. Any pointers?

  29. Just to update this: @mcdinner made an extra build for me, with both imgs. That flashed fine and worked nicely. But still, main camera does not focus!! Thanks to everybody anyway, I'll go buy an iPhone...
