  2. And did you try the Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard? Because both @Rob. S. and me suggested that one to you now and I'm not sure if you actually tried it. At least on LineageOS 17.1 it works well apart from some minor bugs and annoyances, that you can read about in some other threads (also with some posts of me), if you're interested. But the features and settings you are asking for are all offered by that keyboard app.

  3. You obviously can only have one keyboard layout at a time, which is what that language switch is for. But you can have multiple languages for autocorrection active at the same time, for example with Swiftkey. Which also works for the physical keyboard. Typing on it needs some getting used to, just as flipping open the screen, and gets quicker fast (my hands are also rather small). With the device sitting on the desk and not picking it up, I can also open it with one hand, too, now, after having it in use for a week now.

  6. @3zet is right that the spectrum of possible choices in the poll omits one important option: many people (like myself) have jobs that require extensive use of computing without IT being their primary subject. Such people generally have good knowledge of IT and are fully capable of many administrative tasks without those things being formally part of their paid work.

  9. Yeah what 3zet said might be best that way it would be a clean install. I'm trying to remember how I installed the drivers last time but I am pretty sure I just used https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb

  10. You can try to download some linux ISO and create live USB, for example Mint one and install missing stuff like adb and fastboot and try there (its possible even on live USB mode so you don't need to install OS on your PC).

  11. If you want to be sure, you should be able to re-flash the same update via sideload. Take care to re-flash also Gapps (or alike) after that in case you use those.

  16. Just when I was prepared to wait another six or more months for the Pro¹ (or now rather Pro¹ X) I had ordered in September 2019, now I got lucky – and my hands on a used device! It came with (non-rooted) LineageOS 17.1 (February 15 update installed like a charm from within the system menu) and all the apps I need work, even banking and the health insurer's app (and Netflix via APK), except only one, the "Entrust IdentityGuard Mobile Softtoken" app for connecting to my employer's VPN from the home office. For the time being, I guess I'll just keep my old phone lying on my desk.

  17. But Kelloggs on the left are more crisp than their cheap knockoffs on the right, no surprise.

  18. I looked at this device as well but decided to go with the pro1 x for the following reasons: - size: the communicator and astroglide look more like a netbook than a phone - cpu: media tek cpu reviews don't sound as good as qualcomm - linux: with the new cpu and the new 5g capability, it makes me wonder about linux driver support - schedule: they're planning on shipping in june or something which makes me suspect it might be more like 2022

  19. ...That's even larger than the Pro1! I wanted to like it (and give me yet another keyboard phone to consider), but the fact it has a 'mechanical keyboard' (IMO these do NOT belong on phones, phones are mobile pocket devices that WILL fill up with crud) as well as ending up even bigger than the oversized Pro1 means this one is a hard nope from me.

  20. Don't you worry Americans are spying on you too, they will just find a way to make it legal 😁 Joking aside, I got it, closed source is bad especially for niche, community driven products like those.

  21. I'm having an interesting bug with alarm/notification/ringtones on AICP. Few days after flashing AICP I got a notification from some app but didn't hear the sound. I checked the app notification setting and realized that all the builtin notification sounds were missing. I went and downloaded a library of android notification tones from internet and transferred them to my phone, but now it told me that actually there's stock tones also available... I have set a new notification tone for every app and every alarm, but looks like it sometimes just forgets the tone/setting. I have set vibration o
