Interesting! I tried (have plenty of data), but still claims but up to date.. Will try to see if there are other ways to fetch it.
-
The problem with this is that FinQwerty uses modifiers to get the various stuff, but the Titan seems to react in unexpected ways if more than two keys are pressed (e.g. Sym+Sh+Space=>A), so I doubt it would be possible to 'simply' map Sym+Shift and Fn+Alt to something useful - and those would be the obvious combinations as they can be pressed with one finger easily.
-
AFAIK It say it is, but maybe the poor WiFi prevent it from actually fetching? The one I got is 2022-08-05 seen from google and the other says 20220810.... And the updates does not look like they failed "Your system is up to date" and "Your device's software is currently up to date"

I'm likely to be on board too. Though I would like them to iron out some of the bugs, some that are pure software. The worst (for me) is the unstable WiFi. I have not used it with a sim, so no idea if it is a-WiFi only issue. The second is that it is virtually impossible to get to things not printed on the keyboard, and certainly 100% impossible with one hand. Would be lovely to get easy access to national letters for one thing. And even if a-z only, and option to turn modifiers sticky would ease one handed usage tremendously

Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery
EskeRahn replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Sorry to say that for me it has proven almost useless as the WiFi is EXTREMELY unstable here. Good for you that you are not hit by the issue, that sound a lot like what some people are complaining on with the Pro1X. Here It can be used for test and as a backup device, but would be unacceptable as a daily driver. -
If your aim is to restore, and you have given up trying to get any data on it, you might start here:

Even if you get a Pro1X soon, it is always nice to have a backup-device, and the Slim is a quite cheap option, at the least for a PKB phone, -

Merged your post in here You choose a good day to post, for the first days in months we have had news on IGG, as @Rob. S. quoted above. No actual dates or anything, but at the least news. -
You mean AOSP? Or you mean for whatever has been added to standard Android For the Pro1X. We are unlikely to get the full android source from Google, And I think that it is more than likely that FxTec has added drivers with closed source from providers of chipset, camera chips and possibly other. I do not know if FxTec have published source for anything they may be allowed to do so for... Have not heard it mentioned.

Yes, I just hate the new silly name and use the old one....😉(for me a phone is primarily a workplace not a playground) I have not used the Pocket for ages, it has been factory/reset and is back in the retail box *LOL* But attached are the similar google-bug from landscape on the Titan, but here it works in portrait. It's gets worse on the pocket, with even less below the text: I can scroll down, and at the most see slightly over one line On the Titan it works in Portrait though But no such luck on the pocket.... (These are faked images, but the point is the a

I tried to do that here https://eskerahn.dk/?p=4539 Pocket is certainly more pocketable, But many apps struggles with the quadratic form-factor. Better apps supports both portrait and landscape screens, but the quadratic often causes trouble - it is so rare that it might not have been tested at all. Try e.g. the Android market for updating apps. Google splashes some silly gibberish, urging people to waste battery with automatic updates in the major part of the display, that can not be dismissed, leaving practically nothing to the updates...

I think the big differences are 1) They keep the ambitions low, no supposedly high end devices. 2) They take all the risk of development and have the devices ready for production before they launch a 'campaign', so they have a pretty accurate estimate of the production costs, and only have to order the number perked for. They might even have already ordered an amount they feel quite certain to reach, say 1000, before launching the campaign. This gives very good user feed back for fast delivery. But obviously is a chance UniHertz takes.

He he, if we the few still interested in phones with real keyboard does not buy them, it is even less likely that new ones will be launched... It's like the need for supporting a local grocery even with higher prices when you live outside urban areas. If you do not, it will die.
-
I only bought the pocket to have it, never used it. Similar with the Titan. Both bought in a mixture of curiosity, and support of someone still making phones with a keyboard, and with the thought of it being a possible temporary backup, should the primary phone fail. Did not buy the ones from Planet due to the elevated price-point and the size. I did consider buying the Astro out of pure curiosity on how good/bad this special slider-mechanism is in reality. But was too stingy, and now it is closed.

I have NOT had the similar on the Pocket. My GUESS is that it is the same principal reason as on the Pro1X, and is related to the Android version, and 'something' has to be done in a particular way to NOT have the connection cut. But glad to hear you do not see it, so it is not a general bug, only something that occur in particular circumstances. Note that I was on WiFi ONLY, with no sim inserted. Can you see in your network data usage if it perhaps switched to mobile briefly to fill any 'gaps'?

@jakfish, have a solution for the unstable WiFi be found? Is it a limitation that only some routers or channels are supported? When I duck it up and let it do the almost hundred waiting updates, I think it could update two or three apps between each time I needed to turn WiFi off/on and reselect the apps for update. (Less than 1m from the router, and the phone says the signal is excellent). I tried to activate the Netguard app, and that helped substantially and got me up to about 10 apps. And no it is NOT that it goes into some power-save or lock-screen, I deliberately moved the fi

The thing is that though the functionality is similar, it is not the native phone that supports a standard hdmi over usb-C. This is an app that does all the work, and sends data out through the usb to a specialised unit in the cable creating a hdmi-signal. The principal difference is whether the chipset/phone itself does this, and any standard usb micro-docking or simple dongle can be used, or it is a generic software solution that works on 'any' phone with an usb-c port. I do not know any details on how a standard hdmi over usb-C works (did not read this: https://www.hdmi.org/spec/t

Sad, but it certainly feels so. -
(Had not checked for update for almost a year... No new update, but the battery still at 72%, not bad at all after a year. Google had a zillion apps/update waiting *LOL*)

necromancy is fine by me, when relevant 🙂 I must admit, it has been in some drawer for very very long. I better try to find it and recharge it, to check for any updates.... 😇

It is a known issue that it is quite picky on especially fastboot. Often a USB2-port works better. For me it does not work directly on any port on the laptop, but I got a Thunderbolt docking, and it works fine connecting to a USB3 port on that...
