Touchscreen stops working right after boot in LineageOS 21

As mentioned you could also look for "Elephone U Pro" i think they are more common, and they use the same BOE display. -
Touchscreen stops working right after boot in LineageOS 21
EskeRahn replied to senseamidmadness's topic in Support
The screen is identical to the one used by Elephone U Pro. BUT there could be some initialisation issues with setting the size of the touch border, that we are yet to find a solution for. Currently the only way I know of to do it, is to attach it to a pro1 (not pro1X) and re-flash that with stock android, as this process initialise the screen setup also.... (I have not tried this myself yet though) Unfortunately none have (yet?) been able to extract what this precisely does, so it could be replicated directly on a Pro1X So would be great if some had the skills and time to reverse -
Pro¹ X – state of production and delivery

Oh, that was interesting, have no recollection on that, thanks Found this thread. And this. So indeed it IS possible. -

No we can't, it is a mat, sorry, but you can change what the keys actually return. I have for five years used a Pro1 qwertZ setup for qwertY (as I disliked the shifted qwerty) using FINQWERTY the nice open source work by @Anssi Hannula, and selected a Danish layout. ADD: See below -
Touchscreen stops working right after boot in LineageOS 21

That would be my guess too, but strange that that it starts working again though shortly. If you are lucky, it is a cable not locked in the connector and maybe the way holding it can make the cable just get or just loose contact BUT this is a pure guess, -
You could start at the thread pinned to the top in the community, where I keep various links like these....

Touchscreen stops working right after boot in LineageOS 21

A long shot is that it is a cable that is not firmly in the plug, so if you are to open the upper part with the intend of replacing anyway then try to check that. -
Touchscreen stops working right after boot in LineageOS 21
EskeRahn replied to senseamidmadness's topic in Support
AFAIK that is normal -
@daniilflyy This is not an optimal place to post support-questions related to non-fxtec phones....

Let my give pinging @npjohnson a try, though it has been a while since I saw him active in here. 😉

I have several Pro1 and Pro1X, and they all got it to some degree, sorry. It is the same screen from Boe used on the Elephone U, and you can find complaints on that too. So though annoying, it would be really lucky to find one without the issues...

Can I check system crash logs in LineageOS?
EskeRahn replied to pro1xsux's topic in General Discussion
In other threads some were talking temperature issues. Could that be relevant for you? That is if it does not throttle down sufficiently to prevent itself from overheating. -
How weird, I just tried to open it. Maybe it is available to me because I'm a mod??? Odd.... But thanks for telling. ADD: Just tried to share again, same result,

(it is in here as well, look a few comments above...)

MTP does not work when connected via USB in Lineage OS.
EskeRahn replied to Aeong's topic in General Discussion
Could it be driver issue on the PC/cable side? That is the phone does not think the connected PC supports MTP, and hence does not offer the option? Try on another PC and/or different cable and see if you get the same. -
I would expect the electric part to be identical, though the US QWERTY key-MAT on top obviously has a different key layout. The German qwertZ might be the same though.
-
In the minor department they moved the USB-plug about 1mm further from the back, making it easier to use e.g. round magnetic charging plugs, so the lower half is not 100% identical. But we are talking a very small change, It could still be that the usb-board is the same, or at the least are physically exchangeable without the need of extending the hole, Any changes in the antennas could be what is put on the same basic metal frame. We would need to take one of each apart side by side, or have an official reply on which parts that are identical and which one that are just 'similar' bu

I believe they said that had to redesign the case due something with the antennas. So I would not expect neither the inner of a Pro1 working in a Pro1X case nor vice versa. ...but could be wrong, this is just what I recall they said over three years ago...

Shopping for a working pro1 (not X) mainboard
EskeRahn replied to itchy355's topic in General Discussion
AFAIK They were 6/128GB just like the usual Pro1, though in blue. -
It is not a situation I have experimented with, so can not say. You might try some software like like e.g. KeyEvent that shows the make and break codes for pressing and releasing each key.

Maybe the FxServices by @Slion can do something relevant? https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2842-fx-service-smart-case-for-pro1/ https://slions.net/resources/fx-service.8/ ADD: just checked, does not look like it

Search in here can be a real challenge, as we can not search on short words...

Thanks, merged 🙂

None that I know of. (On the Pro1 (not Pro1X) there in settings is a Slider section for stock Android ("Buttons" for LineageOS) where you we can disable backlight, other than that I do not know of any settings related to the keyboard backlight)
