  1. So, if I understand well, it is really a modified touchscreen driver. That means they may also include it in newer systems (like when they upgrade to Android 10) and also Lineage OS may use the other driver as well. Anyway, does this modified touch screen driver backwards compatible with "old" displays? That would be mandatory for the above. Also, do these instructions break SafetyNet or such things in (stock) Android?
  2. Yes, it would be good to hear something positive about it.
  3. I have also stocked up some panels but I had to replace my original panel because of ghost touches. However, my replaced panel (bought at Ali) has some missing curve at one of the corners and that is why I have ordered another displays. When also the last one will arrive, I plan to test them and replace it with a 100% perfect one if there is any, it is not a really hard task anyway. The replacement keyboard is a good idea plus also the battery and USB panel are good ideas.
  4. Also a replacement USB panel would be good to be part of that bundle.
  5. I am also curious mostly because I had to replace my display which works well (without touch issues) but it has some missing pixels near one of the corners, so I have ordered another display which I don't know if it will have this issue / different model problem. I am currently on stock Android, but it is an interesting issue and it is a question why it can not be solved generally by a software update... or if it is only a matter of time...
  6. This was a serious design decision of F(x)tec, they told about it earlier. I hope they can supply that PCB easily (as it is not a complicated thing) as it would be good to have some replacement boards in case something will broke.
  7. Yes, however, it would be good if it would be possible to use it as the left hand side microphone or at least the main microphone should be converted to also have the right side wave - just because I always have to modify the audio channel as the right one is muted and that's way it is a bit uncomfortable especially if you would like to show the video to someone...
  8. Anyway, can you find a way how you can reproduce it? I mean a specific place, a way of holding the phone at the specific place, a specific way of using like in a moving vehicle, an active wlan or bluetooth connection, etc? So, anything related.
  9. You may right, I haven't even opened the bottom part of my Pro1. Anyway, a heat gun (using not too much heat) can be very useful for this kind of glues. Also the screw covers can be applied back perfectly if one take some caution... and a heat gun. πŸ™‚
  10. I also hope so. I don't know how the keyboard will last in long-term use, but replacement parts are always welcome. It applies also for the very new layouts appeared for Pro1-X which also can be very useful for other Pro1 users who asked for AZERTY or Scandinavian keyboard versions. However, the replacement itself may be a bit harder for a casual user as it needs a heat gun to properly done.
  11. That is the other direction anyway. I have tried to look at mine and I clearly see what @EskeRahntook a photo of but at the opposite side I suspect it is also have "something" in the middle. Anyway, I have a Pro1 which was only connected to the charger once. I can clearly see both sides of its connector, there isn't any differences of the connection. I think this is because I am charging it using a cable which also has a light at Type-C side which I covered earlier but that "cover" felt off, so I always plug it facing down as I don't like such lights. So that means I usually
  12. Definitively. Basically US keyboard is a bit shifted as alphabets are closer to your left hand while less frequently used keys are closer to your right hand. ...but have a look at this kind of keyboard for example and compare it with US layout: You may notice it is not shifted like US layout, as all of the "special" keys have meaning like Ε‘,Ε±,Γ©,Γ‘,ΓΆ,Γ,ΓΊ,ΓΌ,Γ³. If you shift it back to centre like it is with Pro1's shifted layout, then you mess up the layout above. So that is the problem with "shifting back" and a national keyboard. I will try to translate your following
  13. I find mine similar but cleaner. So there is a metal part at the two sides but not in the middle, it seems the connector was designed that way. Anyway, that Type-C connector was designed to be on a standalone panel, so it can be replaced more easily. However it is a question if F(x)tec has replacement panels, but a question may worth a try...
  14. However, if you have regular but different characters used frequently in your language, shifted keys also force them elsewhere which is a bit problematic mix. It is like "Γ©" was moved a row higher, "Γ‘" remained in place, "Ε‘" and "ΓΊ" was moved to the opposite side and a row lower, "Ε±" was moved to the opposite side, etc. This kind of mix is inconvenient and why try to learn it if I can go for an unshifted version?
  15. Right, my problem with shifted QWERTY solution was the harder compatibility with international layouts and that is why I picked QWERTZ instead. So the reason was clear and it may successfully done its purpose (I haven't tried it), so they wanted to make a good decision for Pro1 but for people using any layouts other than standard QWERTY or the layouts Pro1 have, it may made usage harder. ...and yes, the shifted QWERTY but unshifted numerical part seemed to be the biggest real usage confusion if we are not counting international usages.
  16. Quoting from @EskeRahn's site, here is the Pro1 layout: ...and here is the layout they put into IGG page: Pro1's original QWERTY keyboard is shifted while Pro1-X's QWERTY keyboard is unshifted (look at near Q, A and Z letters).
  17. Thanks, I haven't noticed it and I am also sure it was not supported earlier. However, it seems they have added it and that means it was solved in software without hardware modifications. I have a power supply and also a power bank which supports PD but they also support QC3.0 so I can not really check it using them... πŸ™‚
  18. I haven't found a technical datasheet but it may be a software configuration during boot or also a hardware configuration which may need a minor modification like pulling a pin up or down or keep floating. So currently it is an open question. πŸ™‚ Right but having support of another protocol sounds really great if it is possible to support both at the same time.
  19. Chen wrote the following in Indiegogo comments: So it seems Pro1-X will have support for USB-PD if everything go right. If it can be enabled in Pro1 is a good question, maybe it is a question of how complicated it is but currently Pro1 does not support USB-PD.
  20. I have personally cut a skin for my Pro1 and generally I think it is a good thing. However, it will not replace a good case which - in my eyes - is a hard rubber-like thing which can be applied to the phone and used together with it. That is the hardest part if one would like to solve it by hand. So I agree, a real case is the most important which can be used together with a skin.
  21. I have also experienced a similar issue using my Moto G6 and its stock Android. That case the solution was I think switching an option what tells what kind of sources Android may use for location services (maybe WLAN, Mobile tower, etc)... I don't remember the exact name but I had to switch it to other option then back to work it again. Switching GPS off did not help, restarting did not help, GPS had no lock. Other phone and other system, but it may worth a try.
  22. I hope it is also a setting. πŸ™‚
  23. That seems to be the reason why you hear it. In Nokia 3310, sometimes it was relatively loud anyway. It can be hard to solve this problem in a phone where transmission and low-signal parts are close to each other. Transmission power depends on the signal - if it is weak, the device tries to "shouting" more and more to be able to provide a usable user experience. It also affects battery consumption as it needs more power, while if you have high signal, the used power is highly reduced. I think other phones also have some noise in the very worst situation (worst signal level).
  24. Do you have a low signal at the place where you trying? Usually I don't hear such a noise which I used to hear using my Nokia 3110 regularly. However, in very rare cases, I heard this also in newer phones including Pro1, but usually there is no such a noise for me. (If that is what you heard.)
  25. Distortions in which side of the phone call? ...what do you and the other party hear? If you hear some distortions in Pro1 then try lowering the volume. If the other party hears distortion then I may not noticed it simply because the other party hears it. However, I have not received complaints.
