As you requested, I took some photos using my Pro1 today. These photos were just done, so there were no several shoots and long setups, just some simple photos... These photos were taken by a GCam port (Pocophone) using HDR+ setting turned on, so it definitively manipulates the photos but I have not edited them. You can see them here. I took only two photos using stock camera and put it here.

Camera is pretty good for me anyway. The stock application has fair image quality (especially in dark condition) but modded Google Camera (like Pocophone's) has absolutely perfect image quality also in dark condition. So hardware is really good and by using a better software, it has really good image quality (much better than my Moto G6 anyway).

Yes, it comes up as "05c6:9008 Qualcomm, Inc. Gobi Wireless Modem (QDL mode)" I have disabled modemmanager. I have not removed it anyway, because this is a laptop and it has an LTE modem which I use sometimes but it also caused me problems earlier when it catch my own USB device(s) after a few seconds (hardware / software under development). It is not a very well designed thing (basically because of the way these modems work and it comes from Windows / plug-and-play style strange solutions), so it tries to communicate with every USB-CDC devices to switch a potential modem to modem mode.

Exactly the same here (with my friend's phone). It was running stock OS but after a reboot, it went to a state where it is unable to boot but it falls back to EDL mode after 15 minutes. I have tried flasher under Linux and got "Connection timed out" message, then tried under Windows and got "Unknown error" message. My laptop currently has 48 days and 16 hours of uptime (Linux), but I had to restart my Pro1 two days ago because of loosing fingerprint sensor...

Anyway, I often use Ctrl+W to close a tab in browser and as Ctrl+Q sits next to that combination, that is the reason why I occasionally press the latter instead of closing only the current tab. 🙂

I have also disabled Ctrl+Q in my desktop browser (Vivaldi) because I have occasionally pressed it and I did not like it. 🙂

I have received mine via FedEx but it was passed to a local courier here (Hungary) but definitively not came through Hungarian Post. However, I don't know if anything has changed since it was before the COVID situation.

I don't know what are the differences between working and non-working devices, that is why I wrote the model number of my unit above. There can be protocol incompatibility or device-related issue (also at Pro1 side and also at head unit side) and even non-supported protocol by Pro1.

Anyway, someone wrote here earlier about a problem with car bluetooth receiver because of too many learnt devices. So it may help if you could delete older, unused devices from receiver's memory.

Anyway, it works well using my KMM-303BT receiver. (It doesn't mean it works on every receivers but it works on this specific one.) Handsfree mode and also audio playback function work well. Anyway, someone wrote here about some (lincence?) problem exists for a protocol which may be related.

I would buy a phone from them if Pro1 would not exists and in the future, I would like to have a Pro2 instead of Astro slide. I like the idea of having vertical slider phones available but I find Pro1's solution to be much better.

Have you tried Edge Null or a similar solution? For me, it has solved my problems with curved edge. However, I have also applied a case to its bottom...

Basically, I would like to flash the other phone which is not working and I think when it enters to EDL mode then it should work, so basically either the phone is faulty (it's flash) or there is some differences between phones which may result this tool to time out. I don't really wanted to enter EDL mode using my phone (I may do it using fastboot or the way you wrote anyways), just to check if the cable which should force the phone to enter EDL mode is working. As far as I know, USB CDC-ACM has no baud rate option. So USB Virtual COM port (or ttyACM under Linux) is completely different than USB <--> RS232 converters like FT232, PL2303 and similar devices.

Somehow I could not get it work, although, theoretically the cable was built the way it should work. I have experienced the same error message under Windows (using WinUSB) and "Connection timed out" under Linux. However, I was unsure if it is a problem with EDL state (as the phone falls back to EDL) or the phone itself. I am also a developer of both hardware and software and I would not say that creating a phone from scratch is easy. You are right about the SoC itself does a lot of things but you should follow several considerations, select appropriate components and routing, so you have to have appropriate skills and experiences.
